of flooding in their lifetime in parts of vermont. this river crested at 20.88 feet, a record for them, never happened before. all of this water has no place to go and we are seeing the images we saw just a few moments ago in vermont and new hampshire and for some cameras, we can't get in there. this is a life-threatening event for the next 24 to 48 hours and we need rescue crews to get in to help people. potential for strong to severe thunderstorms for the plains and the heat remains relentless for the southwest and texas. this is still a very dangerous life-threatening event across the southwest and south when it comes to heat. >> todd: heard the new york governor say this was not 100-year storm, or 500-year

abigail, this is a lot for a scene year old to go through. give us details. what led to you getting kicked off your swim team? >> actually when i had seen the man in my locker room, i had gone to my head coach and talked to him about my concerns and he told me that the y had been -- known about this for a while and there was nothing they could do by illinois state law and if i was uncomfortable, i could use family locker rooms or i could not change at the facility. anyways, so, when i voiced my concern several times to my head coach and ceo of the y, i was told the same thing over and over. me and one of my co-teammates

actually decided we would put informative signs up in the women's locker room to let members know what was going on and next day when we went to practice, my head coach told the girl's team there were hateful messages in the women's locker room that were considered hate speech and disrespectful. i went to my coach and gladly told him i was a part of this and he said that it was probably not the best option for me to swim with the swim team that night and the ymca staff would follow up with my family. >> carley: abigail, what did your sign say that the coach accused of being hate speech. what did the sign say in the locker room? >> mine said three quotes, one was safe sport, women's rights

shout out to riley, hello. hi from afar, it is good to be with you and thank you for having us and hearing our story. i want to start off by saying how proud i am of abigail for speaking out about this. i try to picture myself at 16 years old and i can't imagine at haage. about me, yes, i swam in college, i was teammates with riley and just retired three months ago. i was at the division i meet where thomas was allowed to compete and change in the same locker room as many women and myself were forced to do. it's been, you know, infuriating to hear after going through the experience i went through, now my little sister is having to go
