12:01 am
all right, john on the show, i'll take it over. i'm laura ingraham. this is ingraham angle from washington tonight, mother nature's laughing. >> that's the focus of tonight's angle. >> last month was the hottest june on record heat, then carried through into july as a new high. global average temperature was set on monday and then broken the very next day, triple digit heat index through the end of the week. it's hot, hot, hot. all right. after all, we're in the middle of a season called summer. now, fast forward a few years and imagine that one morning you wake up to cook breakfast, you turn on the stove and the gas doesn't work and your living room is kind of cold so you try to turn up the heat, but the thermostat won't
12:02 am
go past 64. >> then you're just so fed up. you jump in your car you drive to get gas because the tanks empty. but every you pull into, it's closed. then an emergency bulletin comes across your cell phone saying that for the foreseeable future, americans are instructed to limit travel to home, essential work, maybe medical appointments. now, why is this happening? because the u.n. has declared a global climate emergency. >> that's why i am presenting a plan to supercharge efforts, achieve this climate solidarity pact through an all hands on deck acceleration agenda. leaders of developed countries commit to reaching net zero as close as possible 2040 that guides the 2040 of the climate issues net zero by 2040. wait, what's that? i hear? >> hmm. china's laughing.
12:03 am
yes. it obviously would never abide by any climate agreement that slowed its growth. but regardless, the un secretary general, antonio guterres, is undeterred in his plans to set up a global climate body to force us compliance. now, much like we saw during covid, they plan to invoke emergency powers based on flimsy. the narrative is already being set. the hottest ever recorded by a mile. >> we are on the hottest planet ever. why? the southwest and florida are bracing for more dangerous record breaking temperatures. today, there were record breaking temperatures everywhere from china to mexico. but scientists, this is only the beginning as we see the growing impacts of climate change. >> and just as the pandemic we're supposed to believe the science, it's all settled. >> the climate crisis is growing by the day. this will be the hottest june and july, it'll be the hottest
12:04 am
summer. it'll be the hottest year. and we all know that because the science is it to us, because mother earth is responding by telling us exactly what's going on. >> now there is nature's mind reader. >> it's my sweet, creamy butter note that you find margarine, chiffon, margarine. >> oh, no, it's my. >> all right. chiffon for leaving you, mother nature. it's not nice, fool. >> mother nature and plants are moving forward for an ultimate vote by 2024. that would essentially give the un control over your lives. it would mean less freedom and money for you and more power for the government. in this case, a global government. in september of 2024, right before a presidential election, the un will what's called a landmark summit of the future member nations are planning to sign on to an agreement that will give the secretary general of the un's standing authority to convene and operationalize
12:05 am
automatically an emergency platform in the event of a future complex global shock of scale, sufficient severity and reach. now, our friends over at the federalist are very smart to raise red flag here. the so-called emergency platform would give the un the green light to actively promote and drive an response that places the principles of equity solidarity at the center of its work. well, you know what that means. watch your wallet and hide your children. america will be footing the bill once again as. china skates along doing its own thing. now the two years ago tried to warn you that covid lockdowns the predicate for more to come. >> their so called public health experts were wrong on everything from lockdowns to masks social distancing. yet now we see the usual suspects lining to exploit
12:06 am
another hyped crisis. of course, i'm talking about climate change. that was their kind of run for climate lockdowns or whatever they're going to do here. now, in a few moments, we're going to explain today's climate alarmism is based on a mountain of lies and bad science. again. remember what the scientists told us about covid and how they ended up censoring opposing voices? same deal here. so you should expect new waves of propaganda to wash over our schools and our news and our entertainment, all trying to convince you that if you don't sacrifice your standard of living now, you're all going to burn. >> whose side are you on, eddie? what? what sides there? mine are the ozone. i'm going to play a little of this, alo on your back. >> should make you feel better . we're. but the only thing on fire here is their pants. because their policies would amount to nothing more than a transfer of wealth from
12:07 am
our country to others who. didn't earn their way, all in the name of equity. if any of these people really, really cared about climate or climate change, they wouldn't be trying so hard to to china, which has zero intention of phasing out of oil gas. even npr. by the way, i saw this back march, had to report that china permitted more coal power plants last year than any time in the last seven years, and it's the equivalent of about two new coal power plants per week. everybody else is moving away from coal, and china seems to be stepping on the gas. one analyst noted, we saw that china has six times as many plants starting construction as the rest the world combined. so everyone understand by now if any democrat wins in 2024, these un global emergency powers will be invoked as soon as feasible. that means your standard of
12:08 am
living will decline further. your freedom of speech, your freedom of worship, your freedom of association, your freedom of movement will all be limited. our elected officials will hold regular briefings on the progress being made. they'll insist the they're just listening to the science. and just like during covid, we're going to hear from people with long titles that we need to hit our benchmarks before we can return to normal again. but of course, it won't be the old normal. >> it'll be the new normal that obama hinted at years ago. >> we can't drive our suvs and, you know, eat as much as we want, keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times, and then just expect that every other country is going to say, okay, you know, you guys go ahead and keep on using 25% of the world's energy, even though you only for 3% of the population. and well, we'll be fine. don't worry us.
12:09 am
>> let's 2008. now, of course, none of their climate rules will ever apply to obama living the high life at his mansions and martha's vineyard in hawaii . or they're certainly not going to apply to billionaire activists like bill gates, who probably runs at a pretty cool in palm desert. certainly not going to stop leonardo dicaprio from flying private saint-tropez. we have an emergency. all right. we need leaders who have the facts and the courage to call this un power, grab what it is, a complete and total fraud. and that's the angle. >> joining me now is one of the top climate and energy experts, the country, james taylor, president of the heartland institute. james, i know you've been digging into these facts and trying to separate fact from fiction for us. so i want you to walk us through how this push is built on a house of lies. so let's start here. that to cnn, this was all over the media. global heat is in uncharted
12:10 am
territory as scientists warn 2023 could be the hottest year on record. james, what's the truth? >> well, the truth is nothing at all. what you just heard from cnn. what we know for a fact what the united intergovernmental panel on climate change itself has acknowledged, is that for most of the time period that human civilization has existed, temperatures have been significantly warmer than today. so you hear something about the earth is experiencing its hottest temperatures on record . the earth recorded its hottest temperatures ever. that's because you're using term record on record recorded. they don't tell you this, but they're specifically using that. and when pressed, they say, well, have a record of mercury thermometers around the globe for the past hundred years or so. so we're telling you the truth because it the hottest temperature in 100 years. well, that's a good thing because. 100 150 years ago, the earth was finally wrapping up the little ice age, which was the coldest time period of
12:11 am
the past 10,000 years. if temperatures weren't warming now, we'd in trouble. but the fact is, for most of the time period that human civilization has existed a thousand years ago, 2000 years ago, 4000 years ago, temperatures were significantly warmer than today in united nations. admits it. all right. claim number two. this from new york governor kathy hochul on that recent pretty terrible in her state. >> watch. we can stand up and using every bit of our power, mobilizing to fight the ravages of climate change, because, again, these are on weather events that keep hitting us over and over and over again. so we must change our behavior as a planet, as a country, as a state, and in our own homes, but never as a governor, because your policies are flopping, sweetheart. all right. flooding and climate change. what's the truth about these recent floods? the truth is that peer reviewed
12:12 am
study after peer reviewed study based upon objective data shows that where you have predominantly natural streams and rivers, there has been no increase in flooding to the limited extent that there has been any in flooding. it's when we have channeled rivers, channeled streams. but left in its natural state, rivers or streams are showing none of that. indeed, the national oceanic and atmospheric administration, they keep data they produce it on a chart. and the chart is what percentage of the country is experiencing very wet or very dry conditions, according this objective data from the national oceanic and atmospheric administration. there is no trend, no trend at all in the amount of land experiencing very wet conditions. one interesting side note is that the trend for the percentage of the country experiencing very dry conditions, it's been less and less of the country experiencing drought and dry conditions. so to the extent that there's any impact from rain, excess or lack of it's really either nothing or beneficial, it's amazing. the propaganda is absolutely swamping our schools,
12:13 am
our media. james, thank you. now, climate is one of the left, the main in silencing what they call misinformation. now, in fact, just last year, president biden's former top domestic climate adviser, gina mccarthy, expressed outrage that tech companies weren't doing more to promote their brainiac agenda. is it misinformation and disinfo around climate? a to public health itself? >> oh, absolutely. frankly, the tech companies have to stop allowing specific individuals over and over again to spread disinformation, and we need the tech companies to really jump in. jump in. yes. well, that's why a recent decision, judge terry doughty, to smash back at the biden administration's to censor social media was so important. but the censorship regime isn't going down without a big fight because after the rejected a request for a stay, the biden doj that it's going to the fifth circuit court of appeals
12:14 am
to the order. joining me now is the man who filed the lawsuit when he was missouri's attorney general, senator eric schmidt, that got this whole thing rolling? senator, this injunction was was a win. but the fight not over. they're sticking with this. that's right. i mean, they went back to the judge saying, hey, let us censor more. so i think it's a big win for free speech. it's a crushing blow to this censorship regime that the biden administration established. and it's far-reaching. a number of agencies. it was almost exclusively conservatives. it dealt the origins of covid. it dealt with one hunter biden laptop. it dealt with mask mandates. you name. and they were threatening these big tech companies. essentially, we're going to take legal action. we're going to regulate you more. i mean, that's the kind of coercion they were executing, which is why the judge said you can't outsource that censorship. that's illegal for the government to do. now, you think it's bad. imagine if biden in september of 24, presuming he's the nominee, signs on to this u.n. global emergency pact. they're going to be off to the
12:15 am
races if the supreme court ultimately doesn't do the right thing here. they will be off to the races with utter censorship across most social media platforms on the climate. correct no, no doubt about it. i mean, they use covid as the playbook, right? declare the emergency, use this authoritarian instinct. they have to suppress speech to do what they want to do that they could never get past in the congress, in the senate, or in the house of representatives. they want to do it by action, which is why i'm filing legislation this week to essentially codify the judge's decision so that this can't happen again. but we have to be vigilant. this is now the left's instinct. this is what they want to do. it's about power and control, and they're willing to exert it and violate the first amendment. they really don't want to debate the substance of what their record is, what it's become, it's done to the country. so they have to limit speech. i mean, that if you're confident in your views ,like i'll debate anyone, anywhere on an issue. right. so i'm confident my views, but they're not confident in their agenda. >> that's why they have to do this. yeah, we're often better when the democrats actually get a chance to debate because the public sees how ridiculous
12:16 am
the arguments are, but they're afraid of it, and so they want to shut it down. i believe in that free marketplace of ideas. and you combat speech don't like with more speech. but this idea now that they want to dangerous, it's dangerous disinformation. it's misinformation. we've got to shut it down. and that's really dangerous because the first amendments are press release valve. it's how we resolve issues, not through violence. now, according to the this new report in the house judiciary committee in, the senate, but the fbi facilitated social media takedown made by a ukrainian spy agency. this was a blockbuster. and jake sullivan was actually asked about this today in lithuania. >> watch this. been able to tell us about the mission and especially the white house and rnc thought i have not seen that report. all i will tell you is that the united states and the biden administration strongly support press freedom, media freedom and would support steps that would be taken to undermine that. >> well, doesn't support press freedom because he's completely shut down freedom of the press
12:17 am
in his own country. correct? right. and by the way, what's important in the judge's decision is the fbi, specifically in the cdc and the white house officials, a number of different agencies are now stopped from colluding these big tech agencies, because the fbi, for example, had one hunter biden laptop in 2019 and laid the groundwork for the suppression, saying this is a russian hacking leak operation. that all came out through missouri versus. biden. if that case isn't filed, laura, if elon musk doesn't twitter and we don't have the twitter files, all this stuff is still in the dark and everybody be calling it conspiracy theory. now, i know how much you care about the military. and given our recruiting shortfalls, it's disturbing. the new report admitted by the secretary of navy that we're like 60 ships behind china now with shipbuilding capacity and so forth. is your view that the military for christians serious, muslims and people of the jewish faith has in a sense, a hostile work environment, given the woke propaganda that's also flooding
12:18 am
our armed forces? well, i think we first of all, we need to be laser like focus on china. they're building islands in the south china sea. they've been doing that years. yeah, they're fully weaponized now and they have a border way behind and they have a bigger navy us, and they're playing in space and they're playing for keeps. but to your point, look, no doubt about it, the biden administration has injected abortion politics, they've injected d-i politics, they've injected covid politics into our military. it is a cancer. it's the greatest meritocracy in the history of the world. so why are we funding it? well, we need to actually have an amendment to freeze all the hiring got in the ndaa today we had the new joint chiefs guy that's been nominated, general brown. and i'm not going to support him because. he supports racial quotas. he has a memo from last year saying we need to hire this many white people. we need this many black people. that's not what this country is all about. so i think it starts with standing up and saying, we're not going to support these people moving into leadership if they support this device as opposed to what tommy tuberville is doing and saying we're not doing it. we're not letting your people through as long as we're not funding this anymore. right. in. biden is the one that needs
12:19 am
to reverse course. he's the one that needs to say we're not going to pay for abortions. that's and that's been a long standing issue in the united states. he's now violated there, blaming tommy tuberville for. senator schmitt, thank you for your work. these lawsuits critical. and keep up the good work. we'll do it. all right, senator, the co-chair of biden's reelection campaign says that the oxygen sharing is like a race car. the reality he was too tired to attend tonight's dinner with nato leaders. but what is this messaging? tell us about 2024, charlie hurtt, molly hemingway, have itt all nextin.
