for the rest of the world, they just say don't go there. they keep saying don't go there. number two, number three, i think that determining what happens to foreclosure, what happens to excuse me -- what happens when we discuss this in other areas, is that god only knows what he is likely to do. and not even sure -- 100 and sure where he is. and what relationship he has. if i was him i would be careful what i eat. and may be keeping my eye on my menu. but all kidding aside, who knows. i do not know. i don't think any of us know for certain what the future of what things will look like in russia. i do not know how to answer that question beyond that. >> if i could ask you something about what's happening back home, you seen the g.o.p.
8:01 am
grappling with tying abortion rights to defense what does this say about u.s. military readiness? would you be willing to talk with tuberville to work out some solution? >> president biden: i'd be willing to talk to him if i thought there was a chance he would change his thought. i expect the republican party to stand up and do something about it. it is in their power to do that. the idea we don't have a chairman of the joint chief of staff. the idea we have all these promotions in advance right now, don't know what is going to happen, the idea we are injecting into fundamental foreign policy position is biare za. i don't recall that happening, ever. it is totally irresponsible, in
8:02 am
my view. i just think that i mean, i'm confident that the main-stream republican party no longer does not support what he's doing. they got to stand up and be counted. that is how it ends. >> for the president, you have been working to fortify fence between the border of finland and russia. is there anything you have seen that concerns you and as leader that shares a border with russia, what do you want to see to deter putin? >> during the beginning of our application process, surely, we had to make first trying to figure out every possible negative action we might meet and surely how we respond from
8:03 am
that and we are very careful on that work. so at the moment, situation is quite calm, hope to remain such. finnish people do feel more secure, 80% support nato membership and more than 80% say we will also protect our allies. that is the finnish position. >> thank you, this concludes the press conference. >> president biden: thank you very much. >> we got to see the president there talking with the president of finland, newest member of nato as of april this year,

sharing a border with russia. just momentarily ago, one reporter and that is international media there, following this big nato meeting, one reporter asked about biden fortifying the border between finland and russia and i don't know how many american reporters are in there, if he's willing to do that, is he willing to fortify the border along the southern border of mexico to stop the drugs and cartel from coming in. there are a couple things you can only cover, there are danging participles there. there are questions about his fitness to do the job, we'll get into all that. i'm harris faulkner, we bring it balk to the faulkner focus. i woman welcome daniel davis.

most importantly, start with nato and the president's firm defense of the united states staying yolked and it is a military alliance. should america help pull ukraine in eventually? he seems determined to do that. >> harris, you hit the nail on the head, that is the critical question. the most critical question for the american audience, how does this affect american interest and our economic interest. there is no rationale path anyone can claim that adding in a country who is presently at war with our biggest nuclear adversary in the world will make our security better. it makes perfect sense for zelenskyy to want to be in nato. 32 other countries are not threatened by russia. let me point blank say, russia poses no threat to the united states or nato that we couldn't crush with our own and putin is
8:06 am
aware of that and there is no evidence he would come attack us. we have to look at our national security interest and nato should never offer to ukraine now or ever. >> the president said we would never let them in while at war, that would never happen. he said, it will happen. he said that with conviction, it is only a matter of timeingsing and you are saying it should never happen. >> that is correct and look beyond the surface and zelenskyy said he would not be let in, two conditions or you have internal disputes settled and all border issues settled. they have been in a civil war since 2014.
8:07 am
that will go on for the foreseeable future. this war is resolved. because of deck's long antagonism, it will stay volatile, i don't see any possibility they would ever be allowed into nato and we should be honest about saying that. >> harris: president zelenskyy of ukraine was quite upset about the stall to get his nation into nato. i don't know if my team had that available. i can paraphrase it. it should go forth expeditiously. he didn't speak on that, he is expecting the kind of support a nato nation might get as hard as he says he's fighting and he needs america's tax dollars, not just to fight the war, to save lives of his citizens. >> yeah, and they're trying toic mathe case. from their perspective, i
8:08 am
understand this, they want toic mathe case they are fighting for us, defending western europe and no truth to that. i'm sorry, there is not, this is between ukraine and russia and russia wanting, willing to do everything to keep nato off the border in ukraine. they have shown they are willing to go to war and they will not stop. saying we will put ukraine into nato will make putin double down, not stand down as biden said, he believes putin will recognize futility and stop. the opposite is almost certainly to result instead this will fortify putin to make him fight harder. >> harris: i will end with this, the president said that putin should be careful about what he eats and he said, i'm just joking about that. we'll move forward. let's talk about notable issues and gaffes around the president's recent trip with nato and meeting with the president of finland.
8:09 am
the confusion yesterday is raising eyebrows at an epic degree. let's watch together. >> president biden: russia could end this war tomorrow by withdrawing forces from ukraine, international border and ceases attack, inhumane attacks on russia, i mean, by russia on ukraine. vladamir and i, i shouldn't be so familiar, mr. zelenskyy and i talked about the kind of guarantees we could make in the meantime. >> harris: turning on the sarasm gauge saying this to reporters. >> how soon after the war would you like to be in nato? how soon after the war would you like to join nato? >> here we go. all right. >> thank you, guys. >> harris: what do you make of that? >> well, i mean, this is just president biden's personality
8:10 am
and certainly it has a lot of people concerned. >> harris: should they be? >> how firm his grasp is what is going on, would be better if we had somebody like reagan or even a jfk, who could look right in the eye. i don't have confidence in it and i would feel better if he did. >> harris: the world stage, the world watches, including our enemies and i'm glad you were here to break this down. thank you for being in focus and getting us started. breaking news, making it official, secret service confirmed investigation into who took cocaine into the white house is closed. the agency has no answers for the american people. they did bring out a bio-lab reviewer or report and said they did work on the substance to confirm what it was, fingerprint
