not want me to be the nominee above all else, that will in the long run absolutely help me. tomi: , kellyanne you knew i was going to come to you. i want to start off with trump's saying he's not going to attend the first debate, strategically he seems to think this is a good idea, why do it and get on a stage when you really don't need to. is this going to allow ron desantis to captivate more voters strategically, do you think it's a good idea for trump to sit this one out? >> i discussed this with president trump i love to see about the debate stage at think democracy demands it. it was a sweet spot for him also the primary and 2015 and 2016. the first fox news debate in cleveland august 6, 2016 center stage and never lost that spot. he mowed down a lot of his opponents. he beat 17 very qualified men and women in the republican primary and went on to beat hillary clinton. i was in the debate often only women in the debate for donal dj

trump. those debates against hillary clinton helped because she did not take him seriously and is time to shine. he will make a decision for 24 or 48 hours before the debate. he makes a good point i can't picture him sitting at home watching everybody talking about him. i think there is high risk and low reward for some of the other candidates were not doing well on the campaign trail on the debate stage, the questions come fast, your answers have to be crisp in so far some of these would be front runners have not acquitted themselves in other form. tomi: you think there is something to what chris christie said saying that trump's ego will not allow him to sit out, it might come up to 24 hours before any analysis is going to be there. that would be a trump like thing to do. i think you are right. i feel like that could possibly happen. guy i want to go to you, piggybacking on what kellyanne said about the other contenders and we talk about the other

contenders were really secular governor ron desantis. you think trump not been at the first debate, they decides he's not going to go in that is confirmed, do you think this allows desantis to get a leg up on trump and some of the areas he was failing and the reports that his campaign is lacking he's down to trump's bylaw in several states. as this is moment would trump off the stage not to get all the air in the room. guy: he was at a foreman iowa and did many accounts well. trump skip that one. i think gillian might be onto something. i'm not sure trump has actually said he's not coming. he sounded like he probably won't but is not absolutely rolling it out. it may not be him sitting there saying i'm annoyed i do would be there because of the attention. he likes to keep people guessing and in suspense because it builds up the drama. my guess that is the game he is playing right now. if i had to bet a little bit of money not a lot i bet he will show up. i'm not 100% he will.

i think he should i am not a trump guy i been very open about that. if it were anyone else in this position let's say jeb bush, way back when when people thought he would be the clear front runner. if you have this sense of inevitability around you and arrogance and entitlement, voters don't like that. it was hillary clinton affected 2016. you have to earn it you cannot pretend to be in a cabinet when you're not. he was he in cabinet, he looked into lost election, he asked about this case again. right now he's building a case he's up in the polls. but i think to step away from the blocking and tackling of campaigning especially in a debate, i don't think that's a great look for him. in my slight suspicion he will show up. tomi: have a feeling you are right. we also have trump talking about his potential vp pics. he's not really going after any of his other competitors other than ron desantis. he's even open to naming some of them as vice presidential pick a be putting them in office. i would get your thoughts on the

months in advance because you're probably going to picnic summer that's a fools air pretty for looking at it logically tim scott would be an excellent candidate as far as vice presidency is concerned. he has not gone after tim scott in any way shape or form, tells you two things he wants tim scott the race for as long as possible because that just away from ron desantis but maybe also eyeing up tim scott has been a vp candidate. no one really talked much about mike pence at the stage in 2015, that your vice president right there. who knows. getting back to the debate aspect of this, donald trump did not debate before the iowa caucuses. a couple days beforehand. ted cruz ended up winning iowa in 2016. the possibility of him not doing this is there because he has done it before. but since when does donald trump back down from a fight. tomi: he's not backing down. have to crack the record. his ego as someone else said, is the front runner. this is not chemistry, biology, ego. this is math. and right now he's looking at the math. i was a put the math aside and

show up so the voters can suss out who they want to support. he actually is saying why do i need to be at a place where they are. i think because there are a few of the other people are going to make it to the second or third debate, he is actually there. something important about what you said about running mates. president trump is now transporting himself as a general election candidate previous asking questions about his candidate and vp pick. this is where ron desantis is supposed to be his post be the guy to take out trump and biden and in the polls is not able to do either right now. trump is doing the smart thing by reminding people you want 70 to do the job in the future who's already done the job, he is my candidate and vp pick. he is whistling past the primary stage. guy: the math were six-month before anybody cast a vote, why is this a nation and not a nomination. guykellyanne: he loves competit. kellyanne: what people love about donald trump most, he is a

fighter. the fact that he could go up. and if he is at that debate, 24 million people watch that debate august 6, 2015. if he's at the debate, it's the first time you see him with ron desantis on stage next to each other i see 20,000,002 and in. to miss out on that opportunity to post her eyes ron desantis, i cannot see him ultimately backing down from that. this is not about winning the nomination. this is about the general election where that is the bigger challenge. that sort of audience, this is a huge opportunity to reach independents and disgruntled democrats, the blue dogs, hispanics, suburban women this'll be the biggest stage, and it would be between 4 million debate in 2015. do it now, it's not about winning the nomination. it looks like he will, don't do this playing out to lose thing. go out, do the slamdunk and appeal back to the voters that you need to win in 2024.

and is because they have been raised in such a way we talked about this this morning they have been raised to believe that the worst thing that can happen to you somebody can call you a name and somebody can miss gender you, they have been so-called old in schools and what pop culture reinforces that they legitimately think that words hurt more than actual crime we discussed. in fact if you asked them if they're worried about actual crime you don't get the same response at least when it comes to voting. the 2022 midterms should've been more about crime i wish we could run on that 2024 but people don't care as much as we thought. the young people believe that words hurt and that the worst thing that could happen and that terrifies me for the future of our nation in our future voters. this is our future voters millennial makeup the biggest voting block. we have some work to do speaker and pro-politeness, pro-respect and i think that you do not criminalize speech, especially something like this is totally

freedom convoy grabbed their attention across north america when truckers protested canada's government in their covid vaccine mandate. many joined in the movement including the pastor who shared the message of freedom with the trucker protesters and he ended up in trouble with the law for doing so. he faces ten years in prison for delivering a sermon to the truckers, his son pleading his case and his dad's case about candidates geocoding policies he delivered his speech. many gave him a standing ovation. here is a portion of the remarks in front of the eu parliament. >> i would like to stand here and tell you all the things about freedom and democracy that i like but i no longer know those things. they have been taken away from us canadians. canada has fallen. we no longer have freedom of religion, freedom of speech or the right to protest or assemble or associate or express herself
