5:05 am
he had pawned it off on another prosecutor, plea deal was reached, pretty favorable to mr. hunter biden. he just didn't count on the whistleblowers and i've listened to the whistleblowers. they sound pretty credible. the only thing clear right now is somebody is lying and the attorney generals will have to address this. there is a perception that mr. hunter biden got special treatment. some would argue that mr. hunter biden has gotten special treatment his entire life whachl is different now, dad is president of the united states and proports to stand for the rule of law. >> steve: sure. it will be interesting, senator, you are right, we didn't see

here and i understand some people don't buy into this, you have to contemplate, what do democrats want to win and maintain presidency with joe biden or someone else. what they see from a political perspective is every time charges are brought against trump, it strengthening him in the republican primary and weakens him in the mind of democrats in the general. calculus democrats are following here, trump charges make him more likely to be the nominee, they want him in the ring, they want him as the republican nominee, they think they can beat him because suburban women and people who turned on trump in 2020 are not going to change their mind in the democrat calculus by 2024. here is the challenge, they wanted trump in the ring in 2016 and it didn't work out well for them at all.
5:45 am
i think democrats are playing with fire. i believe trump has a pretty decent chance of winning in 2024 and this echos in many ways what we saw happen in 2022, democrats are running the same play book. they went and spent money on so-called maga candidates they thought were less likely to win in the primary if they got the nomination in the general election and they were right. this also calls to question their argument that trump is hitler or trump is unique threat to america. if you truly thought that, would you be trying to aid him in winning the republican nomination? this to me is all political, all about democrats trying to create a better opportunity for them to win in 2024. >> brian: i think it is solid, there is school of thought, who would think three indictments would strengthen somebody, instead of weakening somebody.
