questions about the authority david wise had, did they pursue the investigation completely or was he held back? these whistleblowers, one of which, two testified before congress and one was on with bret baer on the special report. he talked about trying to investigate the vice president for tax crimes. this is what he shared. >> august of 2,022, all four assigned prosecutors agreed to recommend prosecution of felony and misdemeanor charges. there's a thing called willfulness, whether someone intentionally, with knowledge evaded their income taxes or filed false return. that is something that sets us apart from a civil case.

we provided a ton of evidence that show willfulness. a matter of if there is evidence before you and potential tax crimes that exist, you should be able to follow the evidence, interview witnesses, do all the proper procedures. i understand this was a politically sensitive case. it was a matter of you can't do that. let's think about it and at the end of the day, we were not following the evidence we should have. rachel: i heard him on a podcast earlier, this case matters because everybody who has a case before the irs needs to be treated equally. our logical line of investigation, let's go here and there, there's another

clip, the irs whistleblower on special report. >> fbi investigators we are working with within the irs trying to figure out how do we get an independent attorney assigned to this investigation and it was like no one knew what to do to bring that issue up. they are frustrating at the end of the day and that was one of the first times we knew there was some sort of influence coming into the investigation. i was removed from that team may fifteenth 2,023. i have no idea what was going on as far as that investigation goes. i stated multiple times i don't want to see other agents go through the same thing we went through, other charges venued outside the district of

delaware, david wise will run into the same problem again and again. that's why we need to have an independent attorney assigned. joe: i watched a lot of the hearing at democrats towed this line where they kept saying that happened when trump was still president or that happened before biden had a chance to put his people in the doj but i don't think that's the point. the point is trump appointed people to take care of trump and biden appointed people to take care of biden, there's an effort within the justice department that is evergreen but does it change with one president or the other? the best democrats can offer, not so much -- to look at the department of justice overall and say is there a culture of protecting publicly important people? rachel: whistleblowers have been attacked, taken off of this case, treated as if they

were doing something wrong when they were doing the right thing. one of them was raised in a conservative home but ended up a democrat. the other one was raised in a liberal home that ended up being, becoming card-carrying republican. that one said when that became public, his mom called and said you are a registered republican? these are people on both sides, there couldn't be a more perfect case. pete: you pay your taxes or you don't. either you were willful about or you weren't. plenty of people make mistakes on their returns and usually give you grace to fix that. if you are hiding it in fake accounts as the bidens are, not pay their fair share, people like this of any political persuasion should be looking

into it. the 10 th 23 revealed by chuck grassley, they never saw that. the investigation they undertook was limited intentionally. joe: people made this distinction between the legality in the political application but first thing at play isn't that hunter biden forgot to put income on his taxes. the accusation, it was a scheme to hide the income because of where the income was coming from and why. it was less about paying taxes and more where the money was coming from to begin with, and the other side is this david wise conundrum they are in. if you listen to the whistleblowers, david wise wants to prosecute and go further and is told at some point he can't. if you listen to merrick garland that's not the case. bringing wise in, it is less what he would have to say and more discerning why he is saying it. rachel: it's where the money

came from but where this shows the money went as well. they are afraid this tied to president biden as well. joe: i don't trust grown men the carry backpacks. am i wrong on that? it seems like he has outgrown the backpack. joe: are you of a fanny pack guy? pete: i could be. rachel: he is standing. pete: the white house in washington dc trying to figure out what to do about ai. how will it influence the way we live? congress as usual gets dragged into these topics with less knowledge than most and over legislate. in this particular case the white house brought these companies in to say put

safeguards in place, the companies that have agreed, whatever this means they signed on to an ai safety code, amazon, google, a lot of companies you recognize. it's an interim step before washington dc jumps into legislation. don't know what to make of that but they are trying to make their arms around it. rachel: don't you feel reassured that president biden is on it? here it is, talking about his push for rules on artificial intelligence. >> president biden: blank employment on ai. rachel: do you think he knows what ai is? pete: he knows as much as he can understand. the curriculum and we will make the decision as far as what is age appropriate for what we are teaching children. joe: the book includes the new textbook, you haven't had a new one since 2,006, make sense to bring in new material but includes a healthy section about lgbt q plus activists in history, harvey mill being one of them, there's no objection to his past, accused of having relationships with minors. i understand, why does the governor get involved? it seems the school board originally is listening to parents, the first was 3 to 2 and this is gavin newsom who voted against it originally, and they have yet again proven they are more interested in breaking the law than doing their jobs of educating students, after we deliver the textbooks into the hands of students and fans, the state will deliver the bill along with one. $5 million fine to the school

board for its decision to violate the law. now we will charge you money. how does that educate kids? >> that is our biggest argument which i don't understand where gavin newsom gets off coming down here. this is our community. he's claiming the parents aren't being represented by the school board. our communities, pretty diverse community, parents want this implemented about at the school board, it is obvious when you go to a meeting and you see, seem to be teachers and administrators against concerned parents and the school board was doing everything to represent us, but for gavin newsom to gaslight the situation, to make this huge statement that we are being banned. the other thing, threatening a lawsuit based on a law that

welcome, what concerns you about this deal with the chinese company? >> everything concerns me when it comes to the chinese communist party, taxpayer dollars will be paying for chinese workers, to work at this plant they will have operational control, the owner of this company has been rumored to participate in forced labor in china and other companies. also a tax credit, making us more reliable on chinese energy and less reliable on american energy. why would we need the chinese in this endeavor to begin with? did the biden administration give ford the green light? the biden administration talk stuff about getting tougher on china but i can always say never listen to what the biden

credibility that makes it so powerful. in the case of ziegler, the hunter biden probe, he's a democrat, has nothing to gain professionally, as he himself said and it's a crime to lie on a federal whistleblower complaint. i take him seriously. pete: does it lead to anything? does it change? does it impact? >> it is just allegations. merrick garland and david wise are denying this, the american people, tough to know who to believe. the way to get out of this, they alluded to a 99 page charging document.

about the fbi in this capacity. the fbi had the laptop since december 2019 and they knew, all the way back then, when the computer repairman of delaware gave it to them. the agency has not covered itself and glory in this investigation. we know from whistleblowers in the fbi they obvious gated and blocked investigation before the presidential election and now we see the emergence from a confidential human source which corroborates many things we saw and i have to ask what did the fbi do to investigate the allegations of bribery and pay for play on the document and i have no answer but looks like nothing. pete: the new york post did more than the fbi did which is a scary reality. that's what the press is supposed to do, hold powerful people accountable and in this
