compelling upbeat optimistic way that frankly none of the other candidates in the gop primary can really speak to as credibly as he can pretty think that expiring personal message is something that is resonating with voters. the concern for tim scott though is ideologically he doesn't really align with the types of views that ron desantis and donald trump have that set them apart for the rest the field and also make them pretty popular like on ukraine for example tim scott is a traditionalist on ukraine a lot of other issues. it's unclear if the really be able to break through with the trump desantis group. >> also if he could, could center tim scott garner widespread support in the primary? requested that the problem or the challenge for tim scott is he is sort of sharing a traditionalist lane with too many other candidates. you have nikki haley. you have mike pence party have chris christie have a bunch of other republicans were sort of

competing for the so-called normalcy vote. the return to a pre-trump era. in this other lane you have ron desantis and chuck competing for the populace vote and competing on that maga agenda that propelled truck forward in 2016. they really have that laid all to themselves but nobody else but arguably vivek ramaswamy is competing for those voters. while tim scott may be the most capable and the most compelling it still is competing with more republicans and donald trump is right now in that regard. if i plus take a look at the new foxbusiness pulled the iowa poll specifically on the most important issues to caucus goers. you got economic issues 41% for immigration issues 50%. social issues 15% bird foreign-policy defense 12%. populace issues, 9%.

so just under scott are in and e other gop candidates besides trump or desantis have a well defined platform on any of these issues? >> think tim scott does not is t necessary have a well-defined economic platform. if you think about tim scott's campaign and what he really stands for in the breakthrough moments he has had support you think about is performed on the view. you think about the report he had at the recent family leadership summit where he appeared pretty think about the few moments he has had none of them has focused on a substantive policy idea. ron desantis, you know the types of policies he is running on his red hat education reform at times has been controversy about he is running on taking on leftist interest in corporate like disney. tim scott does not necessarily have that well-defined policy issue but he has more of a feeling, a vibe for a better word that defined his campaign. arthel: you mentioned with desantis is running on now. again when it comes to the

economy, immigration, social issues, foreign and defense who is stronger, trump or desantis? >> did you think desantis has a better defined platform in that regard we have seen ron desantis talk more forcefully and take actions as governor about how he would sound the immigration crisis brewing or desantis has better defined economic policies pretty talks about them all of the time. the way he created jobs in florida for example. the pandemic in florida was one of the best in the country. i think donald trump obviously still the front runner. the prohibitive front runner. he is not well defined the issues are public and voters care about and where he stands on them. abortion is one of the most glaring absences of a policy from donald trump. we still do not know where he would set the line of that limit. what he'd leave it to the states or push for congressional limit. we know what ron desantis stands on that. but tim scott? arthel: hang on syrup got to go.
