10:01 pm
georgia. >> the guy decided he wanted me to let go so he touched me i held my glasses and held onto the cart and he punched me again and again, and i felt that at the same time. i'm emotionally mixed. >> i love my job. i enjoyed working with the people that i worked with. i enjoyed helping the customers and i enjoyed everything about it. you know how you have your perfect job, that was mine. charlie: in san francisco business owners are big in their communities to get involved in stop crimes so they don't have to. one declared in a wall street journal off bed san francisco has lost his mind. the other outrage because he got punched in the face when he tried to stop a homeless guy from urinating on his property. >> i believe i live in a city where people piston the street punch in the face and get away with it. a guy ran off and they will probably not find him.
10:02 pm
i am fed up with the city, he should not be this way at all this is not how our city should be. charlie: of all the stories that we covered that drive me crazy, nothing is more enraging than the story, where you have in this case a woman named donna hansbrough the lowes employee in the thing that slays me about this is listening to her talk about how much she loved her job and how much purpose it gave her and how much she enjoyed working with people. it really does come down are you going to side with workers or criminals and obviously in this case of lowes and a lot of other places, we are siding with criminals. >> and we get donna a job, she's the exact employee that somebody companies and small businesses want someone who is loyal and loves their job. donna probably showed up when there's somebody people out there that don't show up for work. they come in late and were to be
10:03 pm
talking about that later. she's exactly what you do, the problem is companies and businesses are so scared now because of bullet into litigious nature of so many folks out there they're worried about getting sued but worried about getting sued by the criminal, that is what they are worried about. it makes you stop and say is this opposite day all day long because we are doing things the opposite way the we used to. you want somebody to protect your company in business. it's human nature to protect herself and to get in trouble is mind blowing. charlie: we hear a lot of politicians talk about workers rights, what about workers rights, at what point can a worker not protect his or her store and as you say it is mind boggling. joey: lows at this moment, however, the manager was that fired her, can you imagine she has more character in the one
10:04 pm
interview the person has probably ever shown to her team ever. i cannot imagine working for someone who would see that and hear those words and think the answer is to fire her. i completely understand that you have policies and there is a reason for them. this is an instinct, reaction. someone is about to steal from you and do something wrong, she grabs the cart to stop them and maybe they will reconsider in their reaction is to punch her, she put herself in harms way she's not trying to sue lowes, she's trying to work at lowes and be a good employee. what do they want to do they want to fire her. lowes and lululemon can park themselves next the bud light. i swear i'll build something out of paper and where washcloths before i shop at either one of those places. >> this is in georgia that makes it even worse, were you reading in a place like this from san francisco, an art gallery owner named tyler glenn who has an
10:05 pm
establishment there in san francisco since 1984 got into trouble when he was cleaning his sidewalk, he lost his mind for a minute but the city has lost, he lost his temper for a minute but the city lost their mind. he wrote an op-ed saying in my city shoplifting, drug dealing and drug abuse are not created and treated as crimes but my active frustrated earn me 35 hours of community service, another reminder of how broken san francisco has become and how inhospitable the current laws are to small business owners and taxpayers. my frustration was no excuse for what i did but does anyone realize how dire the situation is in san francisco. he was spraying down the sidewalk and sprayed a homeless person he called the city 50 times in 25 days to come and help them with this homeless person and they don't do anything and he does something stupid. but paying the price for.
10:06 pm
>> it's hard to imagine that this is not intentional. when you reinforce criminality, you're going to get more crimes. were treating victims as criminals and criminals as victims. i think that goes so much deeper than that. there's no secret as we descend further into chaos and you see the belief in god a 22 year low as societal rot that is going on were a broken society producing broken people. i believe the left has been incredibly successful at removing the anchors of giving a person purpose in life, they vilify god, they mock god they try to destroy the family unit, try to encourage selflessness not selfishness. it's no secret why we are producing these kinds of people as society and i believe covid was so bad. i believe so many people were demoralized from that. they lost connection with other humans and life, happiness, joy in life, the isolation and the fear. we are truly a broken society
10:07 pm
and i think we need to dig deeper to get on the other side. joey: he got arrested and charged with battery and got a restraining order. what happens when a homeless person camped at his doorstep again, does he have to leave his store? you have thieves, criminals, these people who contribute nothing to society and then you have people who are working who contribute everything to society. in the case of the art gallery owner and also the sub shop owner that we showed at the beginning, these are people that invested their life savings and storefronts and trying to make the block better. it all goes out the window. alicia: the frustrating part, to lessons being learned. the criminals have learned that they are not good to be confronted by employees. they're completely incentivized to go when they take what they want. meantime, employees are learning the lesson to stand there and
10:08 pm
take it. is that who we are as a country? that we have now learned to stand there and take it otherwise you get punished. >> i've never seen some of the scenes in person, mainly because i try not to ever shop i would feel like such a trump if i was standing in line to pay for my basket of groceries or whatever in people running out the door hightailing it to the car, why am i paying for this. joey: i need to find something i can sell, open a store and have a dead pool in the break room. you get five days off every punch that you land on the thief. if you could take a baseball bat to the hip, not totally detrimental but enough to slow them down so the police can get to him, i'm going to give you a bonus. we need to push back against this. i'm sure somebody scare pull the clip and i'll be in trouble tomorrow, the point being we have to push back against it, we cannot accept the idea that we are so we can as a society we are not allowed to take action when someone is doing wrong.
10:09 pm
that is a key tenet of society. when you see something wrong, do something about it and the fire and penalize and arrest people, i understand if you're going to spray a bomb down, and some soap, then as a public service instead of harassment, do something nice when you do it the outside of that the other instances like lululemon and things happening in georgia i don't know if chick-fil-a is the place that we thought it was were used to be but they should reach out to this woman, they're headquartered in georgia. lisa: you cannot open that new york city if you're josé this and future breakers, or pennies can go to jail for stepping in and exercising self-defense. it looks like a were unpatriotic americans right now. the better person the more they try to crash, demoralize and destroy you, that's what it feels like i told my yo-yo story i stole a yo-yo from church and could garden my peers maybe
