ron. when we interviewed him last week went down florida to tallahassee to interview him. this is what he said running now, the changes in the campaign and the polling. >> i'm not running to be somebody. i'm running to do something. i think 2024 is make or break for this country. this country trip is in decline. i'm not somebody that's content to nibble around the edges. i'm not trying to just manage american decline a little bit better than biden and the democrats. i want to reverse the decline. >> what about the polls, real clear politics that's the average 33, 34 points behind trump. how do you overcome that wide lead? >> again, we are doing state by state. people that cite those in the early states say it's much closer. where we are in iowa i wouldn't trade places with any other candidate in iowa. i think we are on the pat to win iowa. that's what we are focused on. we are not chasing national polls. really focusing on accumulating the delegates.

president does take part because it would be great just to see them all on stage, all those candidates who have qualified because you you remember, haveu watched debates a million times. that's when people who haven't quite engaged in thinking about it and you are not still there yet. they go shopping. they go shopping for a candidate. >> ainsley: that's right. that's when we look for the mistakes and then we start to weed the candidates out, right? >> steve: that's right. >> ainsley: that's what happened with kamala harris. she had one great debate and she talked about the busing. >> steve: she challenged joe biden. >> ainsley: she did well in the polls and then the next debate did not do well and starts to drop out and gets 1%. >> pete: you can understand if donald trump is on that stage why do you let people at 1% throw punches at you. >> steve: the 1 percenters won't qualify. >> pete: chris christie the 1.4 percenter never going to be president. going to yell at donald trump for 90 minutes. there is strategy to saying i
