what's really troubling, john, the denials by the president were not only made when he was running for the presidency, but have continued during the presidency. including being repeated by white house staff. that makes this a problem of his presidency. so we are getting into an area now that really could not be more serious. >> john: jonathan, when you look at how the media at large is treating this and democrats seems people are bending over backwards here to discredit this whole investigation. listen to this. >> reality of the republican investigation into the so-called biden crime family. seem seemingly riddled with students and conspiracy. >> to reference the hearing, a ridiculous clown show. >> i wonder after the plea happens if you would advise your party to move on? >> no, i would not margaret. this is the son of the president

that joe biden did in fact speak to his son about business dealings. so they are all in a position that they are hoping this will move on, but the public and more importantly these committees are just not moving on. >> john: another issue that has you fired up, law professors urging the president to defy the courts. and your column in the hill, two quotes. one is i shall resist any illegal federal court order. the other quote is, when the court's interpretation of the constitution is agregiously wrong, the president should refuse to follow it. the first quote is from alabama segregationist governor george wallace. the send from two liberal law professors at harvard and san francisco state university suggesting that on supreme court decisions like affirmative action the president should just ignore it and do what he wants to do. >> right, and they are not in the minority necessarily in terms of the attacks on the
11:09 am
constitution. in fact, you'll find more faculty members closer to their position than you will conservatives or libertarians. this is a very common point of discussion among law professors. and it also happens tonight very definition of authoritarianism. what they are saying is president biden should be a law to himself, he should be the final arbitor of what the constitution means and they support him in pushing through measures without a vote of congress. well, what do you call that? it's not democracy. but these people cloak themselves as the champion of democracy. the two opinions they have most objected to, affirmative action and the loan forgiveness decisions, both are supported by a majority of the public. so they are arguing for the president to not only ignore the supreme court's decision, but to ignore the will of the american people all in the name of democracy. >> yeah, whether you take a look at public opinion on the

11:21 am
what we do see in the new fox business polls is a little motion asround second place, yo see nikki haley in second place in south carolina, she's the former governor and tim scott, another person from south carolina in third place in iowa. so a little movement around there, around governor desantis and the second place race. >> jacqui: and what's driving the numbers, you have economic issues at 51% being the most important factor to south carolina republicans and their choice for who they were to be the republican nominee. and the numbers below that are just a fraction, i mean, you have 12% for foreign policy, immigration, populus issues at 7%, the economy is far and away the biggest driving factor. so, that being the case, do you find it surprising that trump

would have this significant of a lead? >> not really among republicans, and we are just talking about among republicans. but you know, when trump in particular could ask the question are you better off now than you were four years ago, of course four years ago he was the president and most people are not better off now than they were four years ago. inflation, which is getting better now, but has just eaten enormous amounts of their buying power, and they are worried about recession, they are worried about instability in the future, difficult to buy a house, high mortgage rates, that kind of stuff. so of course people are concerned about the economy. it's usually the biggest issue in any race, certainly is now, and when you look back to the last time a republican was in charge if you were a republican, that's donald trump. >> jacqui: why then do people dislike mike pence so much. you would think he could make
11:23 am
the same argument and the same poll shows among the people that primary voters in south carolina would never vote for, pence is in the lead of that pack with 38% saying they would never vote for pence. what do you make of that? >> i think the short story is, donald trump has trashed his former vice president over and over and over, accusing him unfairly and inaccurately of having been able to somehow stop the counting of the electoral votes on january 6, 2021, when pence in fact had no authority to do so. but trump has just attacked him mercilessly. i'm not sure absent all that mike pence would just set the electorate on fire but he's really has an uphill climb with donald trump being so negative about him. >> jacqui: and not just in the numbers, also in the fundraising. appreciate you being here. >> john: when you take a look at

11:35 am
it a race war and it has nothing to do with that. listen to the lyrics and very closely, you can see nothing points to race or anything like it. this is just one more way for the left to push back against a conservative country singer rather than attacking a rapper or someone in the hip-hop industry. >> john: as the left pushes back, chinese movie audiences seem to be pushing back against hollywood. discourage illegal border crossings. first off, we need to really concentrate and focus on why are they allowing illegal boarding crossings, why aren't they stopping anyone from entering the river. they have nothing in place to prevent that. the state of texas has stepped up and we are doing that. we have a marine barrier, we have concertina wire, boots on the ground, all the signs and loud speakers that broadcast a message that do not cross the river because it is dangerous. but yet they want to criticize what the state of texas is doing but yet they are not focusing on the real cause of the situation and it's failed border policies. until they step up and try to prevent illegal border crossings, the state of texas will move forward with the operations, find ways to enhance operations and fortify gaps along the border. we have to step up, protect the state and the country and look out for the interests of the migrants and their well-being. >> jacqui: chris, appreciate your time. >> john: twitter saying bye-bye
