7:05 am
wouldn't allow them to get search warrants, for instance of hunter biden's locker or joe biden a cab-in on his property where hunter biden was living. david weiss, we were told by the attorney general, had full authority. well, they say ultimate authority about where and when to bring charges. but i think that again they are using lawyer speak because it looks as if ultimate authority is not the same as complete or full authority. david weiss has what he has said about how much authority he had conflicts with what both the attorney general said and also what the i.r.s. whistleblower said. i think it's important that he come before the house and testify, alongside those irs whistleblowers and others in the meeting where he said he was powerless to bring these charges. >> bill: it looks like the dates available will be in the fall and i think that's kind of when

through political dialogue. we'll continue to support that. >> dana: the comments aren't controversial what she said. president biden weighed in is a little controversial, morgan, how do you see it? >> i think the way this describes it is accurate. in the united states, for example, with our supreme court. they can't just wake up and decide to take on a newly passed bill by congress because they don't like it. there has to be a lawsuit and you go through the jurisdiction and steps. in israel the supreme court can wake up and take on any newly passed law in israel. i do think the nuance there is important for people to understand. i would say, though, in the broader aspect of this, is it appropriate for the president of the united states to be looking at a democratic ally and friend and weighing in from the white house podium in an interview on what's a domestic political issue. no doubt it is controversial in israel. you see people protesting in the streets. as an ally and as the only

democratic partner we have in the middle east, this is a domestic political concern. for for it's funny to see the american left going after these domestic policy issues in israel when these are the same people that want to pack the court in the united states and get rid of the electoral college and add new states. we -- they want to get rid of the filibuster in the senate. nobody owns the word democracy. that happens often. the political discourse in this country and israel. democracy is what we're seeing right now where people debate, things are passed, people protest. >> dana: let's get marie in here. the "wall street journal" weighed in saying israel's supreme court panic attack. i want to give you time to respond to what morgan just said and get your take.

>> well look, the u.s. weighs in on judicial issues in countries around the world over time. the that's how you deal with friends and allies. you don't always agree with your friends and allies. you have a relationship where you can talk very freely. let's be clear, benjamin netanyahu has never hesitated to weigh in on american internal political issues. he did it in front of the united states congress. this is how friends speak to one another. it is not the biden administration that we should be listening to here. it is israelis from across the political spectrum. labor party meme pearls and conservative israelis. people in israel flooding the streets saying it is the first step in judicial reforms undercutting israel's democracy. when one party wants to limit the ability of the judiciary to review their own actions, it is never a good sign for democracy. we have mainstream nonpartisan american jewish organizations

weighing in as well. this is united the opposition in israel in a way we haven't seen in quite some time. opinion polls in israel show the majority of israelis don't support this. this is the latest step in benjamin netanyahu's policy proposals that undercut the democratic underpinnings that morgan and i feel are important in israel. >> dana: for anybody who wants to learn more recommend the podcast from yesterday covering all of this in a reasonable and thoughtful way as you ladies did as well. morgan and marie, thank you. >> bill: we have more breaking news here. tmz reporting lebron james's son suffered a cardiac arrest during a basketball work-out. he is only 18. apparently he was rushed to the hospital. lebron james is saying his son
