yesterday about 100 feet from shore. a short distance from the obama's home. he worked in the white house kitchen as a sous chef when obama was in office. he was a beloved part of our family, creative and passion nall about food and its ability to bring people together. our hearts are broken that he is gone. bryan llenas on martha's vineyard. bryan. >> the obama family home here is a half mile behind me. also behind me is the edgar town grand pond. this is where boats launched on sunday night looking for mr. campbell. it took 14 hours to locate his body and it was in relatively shallow eight feet deep water just 100 feet from the shore.
8:02 am
the pond is behind former president obama's 29-acre, $12 million estate on martha's vineyard. state police say the president and mrs. obama were not at the residence at the time of the incident. police received a 911 call sunday night that another paddle border who was with campbell at the time on the pond observed him go under the water. here is rescue dispatch describing the scene. >> that was 911 dispatch. we had sound of that. what they said, they described him wearing black, they recovered a board, paddle board and hat and that he was not wearing a life preserver. now we don't know how strong of a swimmer campbell was but in 2019 he posted a video of himself doing swimming lapse in a pool with the hashtag progress. we spoke to a local paddle border who lived on martha's vineyard for 30 years and said the swells can get tough out there.

or heard anything reported that would suggest that there was any kind of foul play and that this was simply a tragic accident. now that being said, until police can rule everything out, they have to treat it as if it were a homicide. that means they will be doing a full autopsy. medical, legal autopsy. this will answer the question about whether or not he could swim. that question was that just raised in the report. they will also need to look and see where he was in the last hours and minutes and days even of his life and answer questions like was he normally out there doing paddle boarding such as he was at this time and place? was it something that was normal? what did the witnesses see and say? what exactly and who called 911 and from where? these are some of the questions that investigators will have to be answering as they get to the truth of the matter in terms of
8:06 am
what happened to this drowning victim. >> harris: as you go down the list of questions, that's a lot. then maybe one that i would toss in, what was that other paddle border doing and what did that person do or what could he or she see, what was the current situation? could they actually reach out and do anything? i would imagine that person would but it is still an open question right now. your last quick thought on this and we'll move. >> what we want to know is who they were and why were they out there at that time? was it something that was normal? what, if anything, did they do to try to offer assistance? these are a couple of the remaining questions that police will have. >> harris: we'll stay on the story and bring answers as we get them. in the meanwhile, it was all a hoax and now the entire nation is seeing the truth about carlee russell play out. a woman in alabama called in and

cases where people have engaged in hoaxes. however, the google searches that we just talked about suggest to me that she may have been planning to try to get away with some other crime. that will be also one of the big focuses of this police investigation. >> harris: just be detailed about that if you would. another crime. what are you thinking? >> well, one of the google searches was how to take money from a cash register, right? so that would tell me if i'm an investigator, okay, is there any evidence that she has taken or tried to take money from a till or register like that? if so, how can we prove that? they will have to start working backwards and exploring her whereabouts and her actions in the time leading up to her fake disappearance, as it were. >> harris: there is a sum of money, $63,000. the questions are, you talked about the money donated to help in the search. she was also reportedly needing
8:11 am
some money to help her out, too. what happens to that $63,000. that's one question. also here is the point and you made it. what about all those other people who are missing? how much time and effort did this take, resources away from those. last year more than 207,000 women and girls went missing in the united states of america. 270,000 of them went missing according to statistics from the national crime information center. so there is a lot of real work that needs to be done. phil. >> harris, when you pull resources away from legitimate investigations, basically to investigate what will turn out to be a fraud, criminal charges are absolutely appropriate. law enforcement needs to send a message to the next person out there who wants to fake their own kidnapping or death that says it will not be tolerated.
8:12 am
we have real victims of real crimes we need to solve. there is not enough resources. it is limited. they have limited money and personnel. police personnel right now are stretched as far as they can possibly be stretched. so we don't have the resources for foolishness like this. >> harris: you said that the statement that her lawyer read tells you they expect she will be charged with some crime. we'll cover it as it happens. phil holloway always good to see you. thank you for being in "focus." >> thank you for having me. >> harris: fox news alert now. lebron james son has suffered a cardiac arrest that happened during a basketball work-out. we have more details and we'll share them with you coming up. speaker of the house kevin mccarthy has a stark warning for president joe biden. >> in is going the rise to an impeachment inquiry the way the constitution tells us to do this acknowledged we have to get the answers to these questions. >> harris: what we're learning

>> harris: breaking news as we learn more about lebron james' son, brauny. he is still hospitalized after suffering a cardiac arrest yesterday. we first learned of this a short time ago from a family spokesperson who talked with media outlet tmz. that spokesperson said he is out of the icu at this point in what doctors say is stable condition for now. according to reports, the
8:19 am
incident was a code three. let's learn more from dr. marty makary, fox news contributor. professor at johns hopkins university. we don't know a lot of the details about this case but we can at least, doctor, talk about cardiac arrest. we haven't heard that word since demarre hamlin and code three. what does it all mean? >> that's right, harris. the most important thing is what you said that he was taken to the hospital and that he is now in stable condition. he is out of the icu. out of the woods. that's an important feature. if you look at the information we have, it is not a lot. we do know that 18-year-olds can suffer from very rare irregular single heart attacks that happen really sometimes from an irregular heartbeat. sometimes from an isolated episode of inflammation. it is hard to speculate. we do know that athletes have some particular increased risk of cardiac events. the medical staff was right
8:20 am
there on hand. they probably saved his life. they did a great job and took him to an excellent area for cardiac care. >> harris: code three. what does that mean? >> basically means it is of the most severe urgency. something where doctors will run, not walk and something where we consider it to be life threatening within the hour. he likely got some cardiac resuscitation and hyper oxygenation. that likely is what enabled him to get downgraded from an icu. when you have somebody young, healthy, resilient as a healthy 18-year-old that's what enables such a good outcome. >> harris: a couple of questions. why are 18-year-olds suffering this? what makes them more susceptible as athletes? some of these kids, he is a rising star. when you watch them play they are almost super human and teenagers. you know they think they are. why is this happening?
8:21 am
>> it's hard to speculate. we don't know. their heart is big, active, busy. the heart is essentially a muscle. this is a very large muscle. there are complex conduction pathways on the heart. for some reason, we know this is a rare event but it is slightly more likely to happen in athletes who are very active and those who are not professional athletes. >> harris: you are the doctor, i'm the journalist. i read a lot. we see this more in males than females. is that the way it's reported, or is that true? >> it's absolutely true. i would love to have an explanation for you. i don't think we really know. it may be the muscle is different in men. we know the muscle structure in the frame of a man is different from that of a woman. it may be related to that. absolutely it is true. >> harris: dr. makary great to have you as news breaks like this. appreciate your expertise and

time. thank you. >> thanks. >> harris: the house oversight committee will finally get a chance to interview hunter biden's reportedly best friend and former business associate devon archer set to happen next monday. he will reportedly testify that vice president joe biden joined dozens of his son's business meetings by speakerphone. something the white house has repeatedly denied. now it seems a little change of message on the whole defense thing. here is press secretary for the white house, karine jean-pierre yesterday and last year, watch. >> i get asked this question a million times. the answer won't change. it remains the same. the president was never in business with his son. i just don't have anything else to add. >> why is there a voicemail of the president talking to his son about his overseas business dealings if the president has said he has never spoken to his son about his overseas business dealings? >> first i will say that what
8:23 am
the president said stands. so if that's what the president said, that is what stands. >> harris: i tweeted this out immediately. did you catch it? critics called it out claiming the white house is moving the goalpost. she didn't answer the question that was asked. she didn't even try yesterday. it is certainly a sharp departure from this. >> i never discussed a single thing with my son about anything having to do with ukraine. i've never spoken to my son about his overseas business dealings. >> are there tapes you accepted bribes, president biden? is that true? >> president biden: where is the money? i'm joking. that's a bunch of malarkey. >> harris: the problem when you are speaking for the president and previously said you haven't talked about that subject with the president because that's how you scoot reporters along, then last week over and over karine
8:24 am
jean-pierre telling reporters call the white house counsel's office and suddenly she has something to say and they says they were never in business together. we didn't ask you that. we want to know if they talked about the shady business dealings with foreign countries. the goalposts are definitely moving. the question is why. republicans say the evidence is piling up and speaker of the house kevin mccarthy is now raising talk of a possible impeachment for biden. >> this president has also used something we have not seen since richard nixon. used the weaponization of government to benefit his family and deny congress the ability to have the oversight. i believe we will follow this all the way to the end and this is going to rise to an imp impeachment inquiry and we need to get the answers to these questions. >> harris: ben domenech. when you hear the speaker of the
8:25 am
house with that language impeachment inquiry what comes fort to you? >> the first thing to understand there kevin mccarthy is not rushing toward this. we saw democrats lower the standard when it came to impeachment proceedings against president trump in his time. i have think that clearly kevin mccarthy is saying we've got to find out as much as we possibly can before we go down this road. that is the road that we are currently headed down because every piece of evidence that we seem to find adds to the idea that joe biden himself personally was involved in many ways in all of these different business dealings with foreign partners, including foreign adversaries of the united states. he has been dishonest to the american people about it and there are ethical questions and potentially criminal questions associated with that. we'll learn more from devon archer. the key thing that you just said there, harris, is the idea that
8:26 am
joe biden was calling into these meetings. that he was on the speakerphone talking to people in these meetings. what i want to know is what was he saying? what was he saying to these people and what was he promising and what was he implying would happen if they didn't do business with hunter biden? these are all the questions that we have that are not answered that we need to find the answers to. unfortunately, i think for the white house, when we do find those answers, it will make the prospect of impeachment more likely, not less. >> harris: look, i don't know if you stack up all the evidence but maybe there is a clue when the president, formerly vice president was talking about getting his way in ukraine. a certain prosecutor could be fired if things weren't done the way he wanted them to be. >> yeah. i think one of the things that we should keep in mind is dealing with all these different foreign entities inevitably wraps you up in situations that create conflict between american policy and what you are
8:27 am
demanding of those entities at that moment. it's one thing for defenders of the president to say, for instance, it was american policy we thought this prosecutor was corrupt. okay. how does that interact with the interests that hunter biden had and the way he was getting money out of burisma at the time? where was that money going? did it end up in the pockets of other bidens given this network of llc's we've learned about during the course of this investigation. for the longest time, the president both when he was a candidate and in office, has insisted there is nothing there. it is a bunch of malarkey. no unethical behavior or even a hint of it. as you were laying out there they've moved the goalposts on this and moved it into there is no formal business relationship between father and son. that's a long way away from saying there is nothing here. there is nothing that we need to look at. and this is all a bunch of malarkey. >> harris: the first thing that
8:28 am
came to mind with me yesterday when i was watching that news conference -- white house press briefing with karine jean-pierre was exposure for her if she is part of those goalpost movements. this is really when the questions about impeachment start to come. now there is a circle around the president of people you can put some pressure on and that's what we do, those of us who cover it. with regards to the impeachment now, i want to talk about this. president trump was impeached for first time for his sloppy call with president zelensky who said there was forpressure or blackmail. the biden investigation we have an alleged bribery scheme involving a president trying to squeeze millions from a ukrainian company. a whatsapp message claiming he was sitting with his dad as they tried to squeeze a chinese businessman for cash. devon archer's report evidence testimony on joe biden's calls with hunter biden about his
8:29 am
business deals. the i.r.s. whistleblowers saying they were blocked to investigate anything related to joe biden and hunter biden's sweetheart deal set to be put in ink tomorrow. one versus the other, you've got days of time in a courtroom potentially, days of material potentially for an impeachment inquiry. >> it is so much more material, so much more. essentially what you had with that first impeachment in particular a dispute between an analyst too big for his britches in terms of believing he led policies that related to ukraine and didn't like the president was breaking from his preferred policy. to a situation here where you have a mountain of all sorts of evidence that is indicating really untoward behavior on the part of the president and his son and then the president defending his son. coming down on top of all of the different people who we trust to offer oversight both from within
8:30 am
the administration and on capitol hill. it is really abhorrent and we can't except it. >> harris: brilliant what you just said. people we trust. that's the problem. ben domenech, thank you very much. defiant texas governor is really pushing back after the biden administration decided to sue the state of texas. >> these devices have turned away and repelled tens of thousands maybe hundreds of thousands of people who tried to enter into the united states illegally. until the biden administration does that, texas will be stepping up to do so. >> harris: and you know he means it. those devices are buoys in the rio grande. a floating border barrier and the governor is ready to take the fight all the way to the supreme court. the national border patrol vice president is in "focus." to raise your glass and reconnect. to reel in the fun and serve up great times.
