changed the game for republicans. begin with the house investigation into the biden family reaching a new level now. impeachment inquiry could be next. hunter biden former business partner devin archer, reportedly his bestie set to be interviewed by the house oversight committee next monday. he plans on telling lawmakers that hunter biden put his father and then vice president joe biden on speaker phone with business associates on at least two dozen calls. president biden swore he had no knowledge of hunter biden's business dealings and claimed he never spoke to his son on the matter. >> president biden: i did not know he was on the board of that company. i never discussed my business or their business, my son or daughter. i never discussed anything with my son about ukraine.

>> emily: the alabama woman who claim she was kidnapped is coming clean. carley russell went missing july 13th after placing a 911 call about a toddler walking along a busy highway. russell said she was kidnapped after she got out of her car to help the child. she managed to escape her abductors and come home two days later.

investigators began to doubt her story and released her google searches, which included maximum age for amber alert, one-way tickets from nashville, how to take money from cash register and the movie "taken" details. her attorney saying there was no kidnapping on thursday july 13th, 2023, my client did not see a baby on the side of the road. my client did not leave the hoover area. my client did not have any help in this incident, it was a single act by herself. the mother of carley has asked for prayers and understanding for peace and comfort. of course we do. reality is criminal justice system accounts for lying to police officers and for filing false police reports.

we saw that with five felony convictions of jussie smollett. and it is considered a crime against the public because otherwise how is there any deterrence for people to make up stuff like this all the time. there needs to be accountability to make sure this does not go. >> law enforcement only has so much resources and so many mising person cases going on when law enforcement is able to respond quickly and gather facts and put a huge team together, you're pulling them away from other work, of real crime taking place and other people in need. you are getting people to donate to the search, donate to the person kidnapped. there is need for accountability and it is important for

this is how she acted, she needs support. the same time, i hope her mom will be praying and keeping in her thoughts, the 270,000 women and girls who went missing last year legitimately. one other thing i will say and has to do with something phil holloway told me, what crime was she planning to commit? she was googling how to break into a cash register. just for concern for wider public, that statement tells us, they are expecting charges out of this. >> emily: i'm grateful you bringing up how this takes away from those who need our exposure and help. i had on my podcast maura murray's sister, that family has been looking for maura for 20 years desperately trying to maintain that attention so they can get closure in this case.

overwhelming abuse of power and brutality. it is hard to fathom, hard to fathom this war for me. it is hard to fathom. but today, on what we've been -- what would have been emmett's 82nd birthday, we had another chapter in the story of remembrance and healing. we joined together when i signed law in his name to make lynching a federal crime, think what that took to happen. we screened the movie "till" at the white house. today we join together as i sign proclamation designating emmett till and mamie till, monument in illinois and mississippi.

hansbro. fired from a georgia lowe's store after trying to stop some thieves from stealing more than $2,000 in merchandise. well, donna got rehired and this statement now from the company. and by the way, this hit our inboxes after 5:00 p.m. yesterday. we thought she might have been so we were trying to chase the story, took a while to put this out. after senior management became aware of the incident and spoke to to donna, we are reinstating her job and pleased she accepted the offer to return to lowe's. first and foremost, nothing more important than the safety of our customers and associates. products can be replaced. people cannot. we continue to work closely with law enforcement to investigate and prosecute those responsible for this theft and violent attack. yeah, she took several punches to the face, and while the scars were fresh they fired her. and now she's hired back. >> i am grateful, very grateful
