needles and trash as homeless camps line the streets around the corner from the walk of fame. residents have been pleading with the city tea to do something, nothing has been done for months. these are videos. two hollywood residents join me. you are fed up with this, i can understand why. what is it like in and around this area? >> this area has gotten so dirty. we're paying 1500 to 2300 for rent for a studio and we can't even walk our dogs around the block. people are walking around unclothed, screaming in the middle of the night temperature is sad to see it going down like this. >> carley: i understand this homeless encampment is near a

school, selma school? >> this encampment has been growing for years, everyone has seen this happening. we reached out to the city council about it and the city council says if they clear the camp, that will affect the future of these inhab tants getting housing in the future. no, these kids need to walk in the street to avoid needles, nudity, human bodily fluid. the kids need to be the priority, not the drug addicts. they want to describe these guys homeless like they are single mother of three, that came up short on rent. that is not the case. these people long to be out there getting high.

they have the perfect opportunity because the city is not doing anything about it. >> carley: incredible safety net. if you are homeless, it is likely because you want to be, whether through drug addiction or mental health issues. there are ways to help these people. in this situation, the city council is doing nothing about it, why? >> we have called, if you go on l.a. sanitation, you see countless reports of residents complaining. they are cleaning on regular basis, when they let it pile up after week after week after week, residents and and build the encampment village. they steal furniture, we have parts of bicycles, car parts and it is really dirty. when you call the hollywood partnership, they say, there is nothing we can do. we clean and it gets worse.
