indicates is he going to sign it. the only one who probably wouldn't do it would be, i guess, are maybe chris christie because chris christie has said he can't support donald trump but he said donald trump had signed it and didn't put his hand up when asked is everyone here on stage going to support eventual nominee? i think, steve, you pointed this out. >> the crowd was mixed whether he should debate or not. people wanting to see trump debate. number one it's extremely entertaining and good. what i did recently was watched back the debate with joe biden where i thought he didn't do well. the more i realized he actually did well. much better than you would think. but the moderator kept interrupting number one and number two is joe biden just kept lying. i know nothing about my son's stuff. i don't even know what burisma is. >> going over and over again. when you continue to lie about the russia, 51 intel agents. so the stuff that trump was scoring on he couldn't score because the fact-checker wasn't accurate. the moderator wasn't clued in.

and we didn't eventually find out what we know now until 2023 that joe biden was lying repeatedly on the stage. >> steve: i think if donald trump is polling the audience and saying hey, do you think i should do that debate? because he was very clear. he was emphatic, no, i'm not going it do it because i'm way ahead. we have heard him say you know my advisers are telling me i shouldn't do it. obviously, he is having second doubts about the advice he is getting from his advisers. because, if he is polling the audience and i just don't see -- okay. >> the debate is in two weeks here on fox. i just don't see donald trump sitting at home watching, along with 40 or 50 million americans when he sees ron desantis in that center square. that would absolutely drive him crazy. >> ainsley: don't you want him to do it. >> steve: of course. ainsley: i know he is angry of everything that he feels this administration and the doj have put him through, don't take it out on republicans. because republicans want to see him up on stage.

don't take the voters for granted. yes, he is ahead by a lot. to see him up on the stage would be wonderful. we want to see how they interact. we want to hear their policies. >> steve: that's how he became donald trump the first time. >> ainsley: he made it entertaining. >> steve: he blew everybody away. >> ainsley: 62% pick even if he is convicted of a felony. 57%. so a big number still, said that they would vote for trump even if he were serving time in prison on election day. >> steve: that's crazy. there is one other very interesting thing about that poll from the new hampshire journal. donald trump has a really big lead. but, guess who is now in second place? chris christie is in second place tied with ron desantis. >> ainsley: 9%. that's new hampshire. chris christie has focused on new hampshire the entire time. >> steve: it's working. >> brian: still in single digits. i would say. >> steve: he is tied with ron desantis. >> brian: i would say one thing is i wouldn't give up on ron desantis yet.

it's not unusual for feel rotate out their campaign chair people. one person that did it constantly was donald trump. it was effective. i remember john mccain seemed to carry his own bags through the airport. looked like he was done. he revamped his campaign. scott is going more provincial. next thing you know he has the nomination. >> ainsley: and still going to be working in the campaign. they are pushing his chief of staff from the governor's office. he has been involved with the campaign. they moved him over to the campaign. and now he is actually going to be henning with the campaign. >> steve: right. but there were some stories that came out last night that said one of the reasons he is making the changes is because big donors are saying we don't like what you are doing. we are not going to give you any more money unless you change not only the way the campaign is working but the tone of that campaign. >> ainsley: and his people are saying, look, don't count him out, to your ohio point. they are saying people have written ron desantis' obituary many times.

from. but, i would say in the last five or ten times i have flown, every time they have asked me for i.d. and to see my boarding pass as well, which, you know, that's the whole point of having clear. so you can go right through to the tsa line. >> right. clear is saying that they are going to do more of these kinds of random severance and also responded by saying they are going to train the frontline ambassadors again on security procedures to avoid these autopsiys happening at the airport that in brian's complaint may ruin it for all of us the fact of the matter is you can't just let anybody through without properly going through the process. and what happens the point of spending this money if you are just going to have to slow that i.d. again like you would to begin with at the tsa agent. >> steve: and i have had to show my i.d. every time it's driving me crazy. clear put a statement to us.

success but a strategic failure. >> was it perfect? of course not. >> so for all this talk of chaos, i just didn't see it. not from my perch. >> brian: these guys all should be ashamed of themselves for general milley to sit there and say you i knew it was going to be president but i'm not the president to put the stars on the ground and storm out of that room is ridiculous. admiral kirby spend career in the military and say from his perch didn't see chaos. absolutely insulting. could you imagine if you had a family member die there, injured there or hundreds of afghans killed there because they only wanted the airport and the security was done by the taliban as crazy as that is. what about the president of the united states? he does not want to hear anything about afghanistan are, the withdrawal. which was all his idea. he blames trump. says the deal was done. i had no choice. we know he had a lot of choices. and when the 13 bodies arrived to dover air base. and when the 13 died at the blow-up at abby gate, at a

marine colonel chris douglas you watched those families talk. they were as sad they were just as angry. do you understand where that anger comes from. >> i do. i can't understand what the families went through. their testimony was extremely powerful and moving for me. >> brian: because they weren't properly briefed. they never got the answers. >> right. i mean, you have to take what they're saying at face value. the fact that they have questions shows that all of their questions weren't answered. >> brian: you offered to brief them about what you found out about kabul airport. the explosion at abby gate. what was the answer when you offered to brief the families. >> while i personally didn't offer the team was offered through the army central command, commanding general to brief the families and marine corps had declined because they had are in their own briefing officers. >> brian: what did you find in the investigation and what is

your sense when you see secretary of defense austin, when you see admiral kirby and general milley talk about how effective they were getting people out instead of what led to that moment? what are your thoughts about that? >> so, you know, you have to remember, there is two different things, the withdrawal and the evacuation. and so, there is always going to be questions about why we went to zero before executing an evacuation it. >> brian: military guy does it ever make sense to you to go zero while we have civilians there? >> is it doesn't make sense to take all the security out to then have to put it back in to remove the people that you need to provide security for. so that's first. next, is the actions of the service members on the ground: without question is heroic. then, you know, you have to look at the decision-making process and the position we put them in. if you don't go to zero, and you keep 2500 there, you don't have to execute a average security

forces stay. you do go to zero now you have to put security forces in. you have to make the decisions to say hey, we're going to do everything within our power to ensure success. when it goes bad as it did, then you have to ensure that the families have clear, concise, consistent information that and all of their questions are answered. frankly, they should be all brought together, even as of now, and all of their questions should be brought up. and if there aren't questions that are able to be answered, then they have to get the answers for them. >> brian: the pentagon had a briefing yesterday and didn't bring it up. they keep blaming trump the doha deal was done. i had no choice. is that true? >> i disagree with that you have to think this goes back to you can delegate responsibility you can't delegate responsibility. while you can say we had the trump timeline, you accepted the trump timeline you can't blame the previous administration and say hey, they are responsible therefore i have no

accountability. this lies -- we have a commander-in-chief. the military falls under civilian control for a reason. this falls -- rests completely at his feet and, therefore, he said it once. the buck stops with me. sadly, after that, he then tried to tape a dollar to the football and pass the buck to the previous administration absolutely unconscionable. >> brian: thousands left behind. >> thousands left behind. i still receive messages and, frankly, i'm afraid to answer them because i don't know if it's coming from a specific afghan or if he is now held by the taliban and they are sending the message to confirm whether or not this person worked americans. by even answering it i'm going to put that person at risk. >> brian: he said the taliban have kept al-qaeda and isis out of afghanistan. no human being believes that. nor is that the case. >> i think that -- the drone strike, you know, already showed that wasn't the case.

night is possibly turning out, i think that's the height of excitement. and, on election night, it might be the best job in america. ♪ ♪ >> ainsley: the u.s. continues to face shortages ever first responders in 2021 alone, look at that, roughly a third of e.m.t.s actually quit the job. one reason for the shortage? unheadlines like this depicting the growing unprovoked violence. like d.c. firefighter and paramedic was responding to a call in 2020 leaving her with stitches look at that picture and a severe concussion. she still feels the impact today. myisha joins us now along with the international association of firefighters in boston, marathon first responder ed kelly. good morning to both of you. >> good morning. >> ainsley: myisha, what happened to you? >> well, i responded to a

medical call back in july of 2020. and and me and my partner wound up getting jumped while trying to render care. >> ainsley: why? >> we don't know, to be honest. they actually started fighting each other inside the apartment and so, you know, because we're trained to be safe, my partner and i stepped out. and they jumped down the stairs and started, you know, assaulting me and beating me up. >> ainsley: they were spitting at you. jumping you, boot to the face, stitches on your eye and a concussion and you are still feeling the effects today. what are you going through today? >> so, i mean, i go see a therapist, i actually went to the center of excellence at the beginning of the year which is for firefighters to get help for mental health. and, you know, i'm trying to work my way back into, you know, working on the streets and things of that nature. >> ainsley: ed, i'm sure in your position, you hear a lot of this, especially after the marathon bombing and this is

happening all across our country. >> is this why we are seeing more people quit in this profession and you also say it's actually worse than it's being reported. >> absolutely. this is very much an under reported incident. every day mayor medics, e.m.t.s, firefighters threatened, verbally abused and quite frankly physically abused and one of the greatest threats that we face right now is being attacked by some of our heavily addicted mentally ill people in this country. just in the last month, we saw an ambulance in seattle who was bringing a critically injured infant to the hospital. had a rock thrown through its windshield. [inaudible] injuries. we are seeing this day in and day out. >> ainsley: myisha, after everything you went through, why do you still do it. >> because i love it. i love what i do. i love this job. i love helping people. >> ainsley: god bless you myisha, stay safe out there.
