vivek ramaswamy, that list talks about things that seem so obvious but aren't anymore in our country but also vivek ramaswamy is one of the few candidates is not been afraid to talk about the injustices that so many republicans feel has happened in terms of our two tiered to justice system and the way our elections have been handled and mishandled and election interference by the obama administration. douglas: he's done it skillfully. it's a difficult needle to thread. he needs to make his own way, doesn't want to attack the front runner but he played a clever game it seems to me. it is striking as well that his rise in the polls seems to be along the lines in my view of he is saying things that are different from the other candidates. some of the soundbites, how many seasons have we gone through of republican candidates telling us they are going to secure the border and much more but vivek ramaswamy

is saying and also new stuff, taking on other enemies. rachel: the other candidates sound like the old talking points. it is not just vivek ramaswamy, donald trump is there with in some polls 70% lead in some states, 60%, 45%, far and away the candidate going back to what i originally said, looking forward and talking about, not afraid, he has to look back at what is happening because he is the person so many of those attacks are directed toward. griff: he's pushing this idea, we've got to get back to our national identity. there's a story we are going to tell you about that caught our eyes it gets to the founding of the nation. a california high school's decision to pool the minute

men, that's their mascot, blasted as an insult to those who sacrificed to diffie tierney, the mascot will not be bears, the decision is going to cost the school district $200,000. this is near concorde, california. it was named, because on the east coast, lexington and concorde, the battles began the american revolution, this is a high school in the bay area teaching students that when patrick henry stands up and says give me liberty or give me death, we are going to honor that american tradition, this school says no, let's get rid of that, let's have bears in stead. rachel: the minute men are the early navy seals, they were the toughest force, they were there, the first in line together. the mascot they -- the reason they are so afraid of having this mascot and want to switch it to the bears is the minute man is holding a rifle and they

are saying that is triggering to kids because of school shootings et cetera. if our young people are triggered by a vision of the liberty loving minute men, we have a big problem in this country and i will tell you this week on my podcast we are covering videos that have just come out of the chinese doing exercises along with the russians that were really impressive videos of what their military looks like. these threats our country is facing, we are afraid of putting the minute men up because it might trigger young people. >> if you're triggered by the minute men you will really be triggered by a big scary bear. they have claws and everything. they are not all cuddly. griff: we don't know if it is considered triggered or parents, watch the school board meeting. >> time for new attitudes, and

know who the minute men are. that alone should put the entire school district on alert. douglas: don't get triggered by american history, learn about american history. griff: the irony is rich because none of the students or teachers or superintendent of the school system would be here but for the minute men. that's why they are here. a statement from that superintendent on the mount diablo unified school district, i understand there are alumni and community members who oppose the change. their opinions and views have been heard on several occasions in open meetings, this decision was not made lightly and our focus has remained on the current students, there is no disrespect to the minute men and their contribution to american history. >> it cost the district $200,000 to make that change.

down the fairgrounds and say that's the person i see on tv, that is tim scott and be able to wander over. what i asked the candidates, what are iowa ones asking you, not what your speech is, what are they asking you. i hope the agenda for the candidates, they are fearing from the working class at the fair. rachel: this fair draws a billion people over the course of its 10 days so from your viewpoint, how do you think the candidates have done in connecting with folks here, folks that might not usually go to political events? >> that's where someone like desantis is struggling, he's kind of an introvert who has trouble being warm and authentic with people. the two candidates i'm hearing about the most are vivek ramaswamy and scott. they seem to be very warm, personable, articulate. i'm keeping my ears, trump is the big guy in the room, he is leading the iowa caucuses, but who else?
