>> we begin with an explosive weekend allegations. it's monday but of course they buried all of this on the weekend where they can even keep up with it. reporting on the department of justice's investigation. it's been ten days since the doj's hunter probe moved to the hands of special counsel david weiss. some members of the left-wing media are offering a new look into the days before the end of hunters and from his plea deal. a new report from "the new york times" claims the u.s. attorney weiss was close to letting hunter off the hook earlier this year. that's right. no plea deal. just off the hook. the irs whistle-blowers described pattern of political interference into their investigation. that's not the only news surrounding the newly-crowned special counsel. "washington post" reported david weiss worked alongside hunter biden's only brother beau biden back in 2010. and there was more. a new report from "politico"

claiming that hunter biden's lawyers vowed to put president biden on the witness stand if hunter faced criminal charges. hunter's attorney reportedly said the trial would work to create a "constitutional crisis." i call this the chris clark pressure campaign, hunter's attorney. here's some insight into how he pressured federal prosecutors. this was from "the new york times." mr. clark began by telling mr. weiss at his legacy would be defined by how he handled this decision. if his host somehow missed the message mr. clark followed up with a more dramatic gesture. he read a quote from supreme court justice robert jackson who had been a prosecutor of the nuremberg trials and said prosecutors could always find a technical violation of some act on the part of almost anyone but should never succumb to pressure from the powerful, a quote from the nuremberg trials to get hunter out of this. >> harris: i am starting to really believe those former

federal prosecutors and attorneys who have been telling that this was really biden's way of communicating that all the jobs were in jeopardy. phil holloway joined me last hour and said look, they are very afraid of joe biden. i wonder why. why doesn't somebody have their back. they have technically -- they are all whistle-blowers. if anybody the doj at this point wants to come forward and just tell the truth about what they have been through in terms of having to contact hunter biden's team, contact the white house. let people know when the fbi might want to sit down with him. those sorts of tips and tipoffs in all of that, i mean, if they could just really speak without fear retribution or retaliation. that really is the definition of a whistle-blower. it's fascinating how many potentially there could be because if this pressure campaign is real and the statute of limitations runs out on the gun charges, so on and so forth, in october. we may never really know hunter biden's part in this.

the charges are disappearing. 2016 is gone, to your point, harris. 2015 is gone. 2014 is gone. most crimes in 2018 are gone because they were never indicted. the tax charges from 2017 are gone. cases disappearing by the day. what we see over the weekend, the intimidation, they believe, on behalf of joe biden. mccarthy says the blowback is going to be against them careerwise, professional weiss, et cetera. andy mccarthy has yet to be wrong. i would trust his opinion on this. >> kayleigh: he has been on this. great thread on his twitter, or x, i should say. going to the details. there were a lot of them. this is when he isolated that stuck out to be quite a bit. "new york times," two sentences. while mr. biden's legal team agrees irs agents affected the deal, his lawyers have contended to the justice department by

disclosing details about the investigation of congress, they broke the line should prosecuted. the guy is getting hunter biden the sweetheart deal, saying don't prosecute our client. prosecutor was implores. i thought this white house, go read their statement of the policy, the administrations supports h.r. 2988, that's a bill that would modify and expand whistle-blower protections for federal employees. they support whistle-blowers except maybe the ones looking into the son of the president. >> the whistle-blowers expose the land by hunter biden's attorneys which was to just bury this under the rug. once the whistle-blower testified in front of congress, that was off the table. it is follow the money. i have said this before. james corner was on the news channel yesterday morning and he said, he goes, we are going to be going back to court and we are going to be subpoenaing more bank records. that's where you follow the money. i had nancy on last week and she told me these are public

records, things i have seen. we are talking $50 million in payments to the biden family, not 20 million. $50 million. that surprised me. i also thought it was interesting to look at the history that "washington post" came out with and looked at the beau biden connection. because remember the special counsel now, what in the world? there were other options for special counsel. it had to be david weiss? let's recall in this report to the post, acting u.s. attorney general for president barack obama and vice president joe biden. lindsey graham has come out and said we gave the guy a chance. compromised. other republicans on the hill. compromised. this is not the right person to be leading this investigation. even if hunter biden does face something, you tell me some other american out in this country that would face the same charges hunter biden faced, not just the tax charges but also the gun charge. and that would have gotten that plea deal which luckily was torn

out by the judge. >> kayleigh: one of the interesting thing comer is looking into is the emails from then vice president biden under a pseudonym. she emailed as many people. the white house has is not an ordinary. you get emails to your well-known name. people in the white house use a pseudonym. that caveat aside, was interesting, hunter biden was cced on some government emails. i am trying to think to myself, my government email, it's not like i was ccing family members. it's really uncommon thing to do. ccing him on his public schedule. this is as he's running point on ukraine, these recent big questions about not hunter but joe. >> lili: there is enough evidence a chelating. we talked about the technicalities. the court of public opinion has spoken. 50% of americans to feel and see the hunter biden is getting preferential treatment.

that in itself is impacting what will be remembered as 2024 political season full of indictments, impeachments, trials, more so than speeches and campaign trail sadly. but this is an opportunity to move for us to regain the trust of the american people who were disillusioned with what the justice system is doing. chasing political opponents, silencing parents, not really pursuing justice that we want to see. >> kayleigh: one thing is clear: the american people are going to be watching the special counsels closely. two of which we have yet to hear much from. one, the trump one we've heard a tone from. people are watching. anticipation will soon be over. oh, my goodness. it's debate week. we are 48 hours from the fox news g.o.p. presidential debate which you will see right here. who is slipping, who is gaining, as the candidates not named trump seek to break out of the pack.

challenger. that poll, that's the biggest lead anyone has had going back to george w. bush in 2000. wow. the latest emerson national polls shows ron desantis in a tie with the surging vivek ramaswamy. ramaswamy's new movement is shown in the latest fox poll where the tech entrepreneur has gained six-point since june. florida governor has lost six points. ignite obviously, bill. >> bill: huge. >> kayleigh: the indication is that former president trump will not be here. the take away from that is this is a huge political miscalculation, i would say, for him. for two reasons. you give others the opportunity to shine. you give others two hours to throw lobs at you. i know former president trump can dance across the debate stage, can defend himself. but you're not there to do it himself. you're counting on navy others to step in. i think the biggest strategic risk for him is he becomes the nominee.

nearby, the state of kansas. there's a lot going on here on wednesday night that i think we as americans need to have time to sit down, listen to these men and women. making their best case as to why they should be the person. >> kayleigh: it's going to be a huge identify many of those people on that stage, you're going to have millions and millions of people. the biggest national audience people in the race have had so far. two goals, consolidate momentum and eliminate competition. fewer people in the race, you can aggregate bigger and bigger numbers. in the polls that we haven't seen thus far. >> harris: you are a strategist. the next one comes along, you're not going to need 1%, you're going to need three. the stakes for donations and people giving to you go up in september. they are about a month of part and you know this is the opportunity to start to build momentum and you're right about that. former president trump come we never know what he's going to

do. he says no. he could easily step on the stage. we don't know. but we do know he has skipped debates before. skipping a g.o.p. debates in previous times, i don't think he thinks this is that big of a deal. it's still the beginning of the conversation. for the people on the stage, i'm going to quote chris christie, if he's nervous, everybody ought to be scared to death because he has done it before. they haven't. because they haven't, they get to shine in the way people haven't seen them. coming out of iowa, desantis did well. he did may be better than some people thought he would. tim scott and a few others. vivek ramaswamy perihelion there and he -- trump is going to watch or be there. i never count amount to last second. or anybody. but i will say when someone makes the argument and you're not standing there. truth social land elon's x.

>> cheryl: there was a great piece this morning. talking about mr. fix it. that's the person i'm going to vote for. the chance to say, how are you going to fix things? glenn youngkin said voters are more focused on who's going to deliver results, who is going to come forward with the pan. talk about the tsa, immigration, inflation, the failure of bidenomics. i can't wait to hear their take on all of these issues. there major problems that the american family is dealing with. put the fighting aside, what are you going to do? what are you going to do for voters right now? it's going to be a key point. i agree this is the event of the summer. september, the event is going to be on fox business. can't wait. >> kayleigh: everyone is going to be watching. the center podium. who is standing there and who is beside them. debates do move numbers. we saw trump consolidate the winning lead in 2016 in july but

after two of the debates, the second and third, you saw ben carson surge briefly. nothing sustaining. but after two of the debates, after september october, carson popped up and fell back down. my point is, people watch and it does move numbers. >> lili: exactly. in 2016, trump did skip one debate and lost the caucuses that time to ted cruz. so you cannot take for granted any minute you have to talk to the american people about the issues that matter. i am really excited about one thing. that i think transcends names and characters on the board. it's the fact that this debate could be a unifying, defining moment for the party. what happens when candidates that are young, diverse, you have gender representation. you have diversity. many times the republican party gets told you are not the diverse party. look at the state. this is a chance to rise above the narrative on the left and

here is what disturbs the most. fiscal year 2023, we are 11 months in. we have -- we have encountered 146 people on the terror watch list. >> harris: that we know of. >> bill: that's more than ever you're combined going back to 2017. last year it was 98. how many in 2021? 15. 2023, 2019, zero. 2018, six. 2017, 2. we had an entire congressional commission that was assigned the job of trying to figure out how saudi hijackers made their way to san diego, california. how much time and money and national toil that we put into that? now you've got this?

you've got another month, ladies. how high is the number going to go? what are we thinking? there is no nation in this world that runs their border the way rerun hours. >> lili: talking about other nations, countries like the u.k., australia new zealand to have friendly migration policies. 80% of those migrants come to those countries because of jobs. here it's asylum-seekers or family ties which have to flip the script. 1.4 million workers on h1b visas that are waiting because of the backlog. those are professionals. they have jobs. they have hiring managers that are waiting for them to get back into the workplace while we are trying to sort out which now has cost -- the latest number i saw was 150 -- $.7 billion a year for the state, local, and federal

expenses. fires, natural disasters, backlogs of people who have do of legitimate reasons for staying in this country for work. yet we cannot get our arms around her. border security with a sensible and working immigration reform is what we need. >> harris: we are not saying the quiet part out loud. we are not saying we haven't just legitimized. we are complicit in sex trafficking in this country. we have ushered in lawbreaking like never before. breaking the law to come across our border between the checkpoints and to gain access to legally obviously. but the cartels are running the border and they are running what happens north of the border to young children we may never know the names of but they are suffering. in the united states of america. >> kayleigh: heritage cited a statistic as many as 60% of the kids at the border are traffic. think about that. these are people showing up in the most heinous of conditions, vulnerable kids were traffic because we have a president

enabling it. you've got to that issue. you have an american soldier. guess who's going to be house in that facility, single adult men at the expense of children who use that. we saw that in manhattan. you had single adult men in gymnasiums and kids being displaced yet again, same thing in brooklyn. the kid always comes last whether it's the illegal immigrant child of the american child in favor of in this case single adult men. >> harris: what i would add that because i interviewed one of the parents, not just that the american kids were displaced. they were right on the same property. they were right next door to the gymnasium. randall's island is a bit more remote but it's thousands of people who use that. >> cheryl: at what point is new york city and other cities decide it's no longer feasible to be a sanctuary city. at one point is new york city decide that the right to shelter does not economically work in this country. we have watched since covid began, the tax base of

new york city flee. $12 billion price tag. according to the mayor of new york city. now it's happening in buffalo with the students. parents stepped in and said no. they need to go. again, because of the sexual assault, and most 13 gang member over the weekend caught at the border, the gunfire reported over the weekend at the border, coming from the mexico side at border patrol. i will leave it here really quick. environmental health and the lives of border patrol agents. they have done nothing but suffer. alcoholism, divorce, suicide. it goes on and on. at what point do we start to care about our border agents. at this point it doesn't seem like the biden administration does. >> harris: they are 24/7 first responders to a national disaster created by this president. quickly, what you said about terrorism, that strikes the heart of every american because those are the numbers we are being told. we don't know the demographics of these people. we don't know the crimes they've committed.

look at that. some of the mud split spilling o their roadways. this video shows residents trying to drive their cars out of the deep mud. some with larger vehicles were able to get their tires moving while others were forced to abandon their cars after they stalled out. jeff paul is live along the los angeles river. jeff. >> the nonstop rain from tropical storm hilary appears to have finally come to an end but we are still very much in the early stages of understanding the impact from this storm, inches upon inches of rain falling all throughout the l.a. region. this visual behind us right here i think really tells the story. while that's the l.a. river, normally most days of the year it's a small trickle. now it's a somewhat fast-moving river. when all that water has no place to go, that's when you really start seeing flooding. it was really bad in palm springs and the surrounding desert communities, flooded rose and made it difficult and

dangerous to drive and get around. when you combine all the heavy rain with loose, dry soil, it makes for an even more challenging situation. mudslides and mud flows are reported throughout southern california and the surrounding region leading to some roads having to be close. so far no reports of serious injuries or deaths from the storm, however the water was too much for some folks, where rescue crews were forced to step in and help get those folks to safety. if the first tropical storm to make landfall in l.a. and 84 years wasn't enough to deal with, there was an earthquake, magnitude 5.1, it shook the l.a. area followed by several aftershocks. rescue crews assessing and going around the l.a. region where this happened. they don't see any damage and so far no reports of injuries. kayleigh. >> kayleigh: jeff, thank you. harris, you reported this on "the faulkner focus." five to 10 inches of rainfall.

these are deserts that sometimes see that in a year and this is in a day. >> harris: the reason that the flooding will happen if the ground is saturated, it's a slick surface. that's what they are seeing in parts of arizona. it's been a punishing monsoon season. more lightning then rain in some areas and we've had this extended heat wave. it's been a blessing to get some water but when it all comes, a year's worth, as you pointed out, in one day. it can be a lot in those areas that need it so much, the water just runs away and goes to the lowest points help loom tucson tucson for instance, that's ravines. at least they can capture it, so that's a blessing. >> bill: they had a lot of snow this past winter. a lot of snowmelt. this is on top of that. >> kayleigh: earthquake. you're getting hit with your first tropical storm in 84 years. >> cheryl: it's good for water. as harris knows, there is an issue with water.

you know it's funny because you know young people are very crafty, half of college students do admit in a survey that they lie about the vaccine status in their vaccine paperwork. there you go. for the 38,000 students at rutgers, are we really willing to lose potentially 20% of them? that's the number out there. 80% of students are vaccinated. maybe they will lie and say -- but i would rather keep that but there will doing what they want to pursue would not force them that now we know does very little. >> harris: is there a vaccination that can keep road rage, the person next to me in the car from killing me. that's more likely to happen. can we coerce that? we can't because people don't like coercion. more "outnumbered" in a moment.
