they are trying to afford bacon and eggs and tuition and nourish. those granular issues are on the podium on wednesday night in this debate. steve and she is absolutely right. given the bread and butter issues that impact all of us, there is a question the federal reserve has been asking for for a number of years. they do a survey and say okay. you have got a job right now. if you were going to switch jobs, how much is it going to cost the new employer? and the number is jaw dropping because now they say that the figure is sure, i will switch jobs for $78,646. that's up close to 10% year over year. the average full-time offer in the united states currently, so that's the job offer, sure, i will switch jobs for close 80,000. is 70,000 is how much people need to make now and you got figure these numbers are higher

because they are looking at the prices of everything. i know that if i switch jobs, i'm going to have extra expenses and so it's can going to cost you. but i will do a really good job. >> ainsley: i wonder what is the average salary? >> steve: 69,000. >> ainsley: that's the average. i will switch jobs for almost 80,000. >> brian: 9.8 million jobs open. just under 6 million people without a job. so you got to figure that there might be a better job out there for you if you look hard enough. and this might be a good opportunity for you. >> steve: well, the problem for all of us though is one of the drivers of inflation is wages. and so if wages are going up, inflation is going to go up. you know, for the most part, prices have stabilized in a lot of things. but not wages. and that's bad for inflation. and that means the federal reserve might just say, you know what? one more interest rate hike, boom. >> brian: that is why when you get the rescue package, when you get inflation reduction act.

when you get infrastructure, you put all that spending. in and it all flows into the system from money we don't have that devalues the dollars you do have. so that's the inflation. are we getting punished for the president's spending program? upping the interest rates which makes your credit cards harder to pay off and mortgages more difficult to get and makes you question whether you should go take one out. >> ainsley: don't you remember? i remember switching jobs. i did change jobs because they were paying me a lot more. >> steve: can you imagine had you made 78,000 back then? >> ainsley: i started out making in the 20's. >> steve: i made $4 an hour. i was on tv weekend weather man and i made $4 an hour. >> ainsley: gosh. >> brian: my first job i paid them to let me work. >> ainsley: i worked for free. >> brian: i gave away $100,000 in order to have a place to go. >> steve: what job was that? >> ainsley: that's called an internship. >> brian: now you have to pay for internship.

to this moment. so, we're very honored to be here in milwaukee. >> steve: well, we have done polling, other organizations have done polling. the number one issue, as you know, is the economy. so you have got to persuade people that you are the guy to lead the nation to get us back on track. how are you going to do that. >> well, because i have done that. whenever you look at a governor, i created 100,000 jobs through the private sector while i was governor. and we balanced the budget for 8 years. we reduced the growth of state government. and that's what we need in washington, d.c. somebody who knows how to tighten the belt. governors know how to do it. i have done that and also the last time we balanced the budget in washington, was when i was in the united states congress. so, i understand what has to happen. >> steve: sure. >> that is the foundation of a growing economy. is reducing the regulations, making sure we can have a pro-growth energy policy. and then control federal

pending. >> steve: right, exactly. governor, you have seen the polls, donald trump is way ahead of everybody else. but, and we're going to show this graphic from a brand new poll that nbc and the des moines register did. and that is your your mind made up or could you support another candidate? 52% of republican caucus goers a majority could be per situated. that's what you have got to do is persuade people don't vote for that guy, vote for me. i will acknowledge a big gap between the frontrunner and everybody else. i came back from iowa at the state fair, and on the ground they are reflecting that poll that they're open to a change. they understand the challenge of winning with donald trump at the head of the ticket it's going to be gradual before that changes. i expect this fall and winter you will see some changes in
