eight republican candidates are making last-minute preparation and warming up for pfizer forum, you are watching "outnumbered," i'm harris faulkner here with my co-host kayleigh mcenany and tammy bruce, leslie marshall and douglas murray. we are now getting a sneak peek at what the debate stage will look like later to not tonights. we know how the eight will be lined up with ron desantis in the center, florida's governor. he will take center stage alongside surging candidate vivek ramaswamy and now candidates are expected to focus on pressing issues plaguing meshes under president biden

leadership. poll found 38% of americans consider the economy to be america's greatest issue right now, next closest answer is border crisis and immigration at 11% and found 80% of americans to be in poor or only fair shape. now fox news digital took to the street in milwaukee before the debate tonight asking voters which gop candidates they are most forward to watching tonight on the debate stage? >> i have not made my mind up who i want to support, i like to hear from all the candidates. >> i think everybody, ramaswamy is bringing a different energy and vibe. nice to see somebody les than 50 running for president. >> i think chris christie, he is out spoken. >> scott. >> pence will be cool under

debates. talk about the guy at center stage, i just got off the phone with the desantis campaign, they do not have to craft talking points. they said our governor has best conservative record in the country and that is hard to argue with. glenn youngkin is excellent governor. they are going to bring that and extract out and say here is what we will bring to the white house with proactive vision. expect to hear about joe biden, you are going to hear about biden from them and they expect to be hit, at center stage, get people punching right back because he is a fighter and they will be bringing his biography in the same way tim scott will bring his, emphasizing as you talked to the first lady, the fact he's a veteran, got a

bronze star, volunteered after 9/11, he is a father. center stage is what you will hear to not. >> harris: and casey desantis said that uniform turned her head. and vivek ramaswamy, look at the live stage, you have ron desantis in the center and you have in second place vivek ramaswamy. >> douglas: the question is can he live up to the hype that existed around him? i've known vivek for some years, he is impresive figure. it is float to get name recognition and suddenly he's broken through, third place. sometimes toe to toe with desantis in the poll numbers and nobody saw that coming. he's had eshg normous amount of attention, he's got that attention, there will be people

gunning for him, as well as for desantis. >> harris: right now nikki haley has been gunning for him, tammy bruce. he said the car is broken for 25 years, don't you want a new take on things? it will be interesting. >> tammy: that is a weak point, too, his unusual foreign policy opinion regarding israel and otherwise. this is why debates are important, you hear them from ads, or playing tennis without your shirt on. they have to deal with pressure, be asked questions, are you going to do it in a funny way, a nice way, will you appear harsh or angry? the best advice is for people to be themselves. that is what americans care about, what is this person and this is why the campaigns are
9:17 am
important, how are they going to behave under pressure when they get angry or if something is funny. nikki haley has a wonderful international performance history. i did not have much anticipation for anything she would do be chosen to be un ambassador, my god, did she deliver. that was a big surprise for me who this woman is, i'm looking forward to seeing what she will do on the stage, beyond going after people. she started, but in context, what is she proposing? where does she stand? you want happy talk, optimistic policy point about what to deliver and what is needed. >> harris: talk about chris christie. certainly liked on the left issue he's done media on the left, all of them have really.
9:18 am
chris christie has been most oppositional to donald trump. that is his calling card. he is that and represents that, that is distance fro positively moving the country. or is it? >> leslie: some people are vying for vice presidency -- >> harris: that would not be chris christie. >> leslie: i agree. chris christie, i'm thinking of the song slim shady -- >> harris: because vivek has been rapping. >> leslie: no, will the real chris christie stand up? chris christie is doing something everybody needs to do, not talking about attack, stand out from the crowd. these individuals are not that far apart and need a democratic debate or republican debate to show the voters why me, why do you want me.
9:19 am
you have to stand apart and like ability, they have opportunity to do that. >> harris: going back to that nine questions that the "new york times" asked and as look at the board, candidates introducing themselves might doug burgum. how do you introduce yourself? >> douglas: it really is hard, i feel sorry for these guys, in a way. they are coming from nowhere and have to tell the nation their own story and have to -- >> harris: even asa hutchinson. >> douglas: i think so, struggling at 1%. something tammy said, there is a question throughout the debate, i can't wait to see this.
9:20 am
you read the poll about the priority of the american people and economy is number one. nikki haley, enormous respect, but known for foreign policy person. >> harris: she was twice governor of south carolina. >> douglas: she can definitely run on that. if there are certain things you are known for and can play to and particularly well on foreign policy stage, but not a foreign tells election, what do you do? there is need for each candidate to say where they stand on issues. >> kayleigh: abortion will be big, that matters in iowa and south carolina. >> harris: give us a taste of the difference. >> kayleigh: tim scott, most pro-life willing, i will sign. that is hugely popular with republican voters, maybe not in
9:21 am
a general election, but have him pushing other candidates, how far will you go, it is push to the right no doubt. >> harris: pop your corn, first republican debate on fox news live in milwaukee 9 p.m. eastern, martha maccallum and bret baier will be moderating, donbas miss a second. from afghanistan to east pale palestine, ohio and hawaii, maui in particular, president biden behavior lacks empathy. i don't know, did we expect it? he said he would have it, media defending him. d behind his name is for defense.
