and we have been talking about these candidates for a few months. across the board, when you have this many viewers, it is a chance for them to make a first impression. you have debated in a contest like this. >> nothing at this level, but there is no question. the elephant in this room is donald trump. others may be known to certain parts of the country, but people don't know that name or how to pronounce it. chris christie is someone people may remember, but at the same time, tonight is a make or break night. there was no clear leader tonight. desantis has lost momentum. what happened to the guy who won his race in florida by 20 points. he is stiff and unrelatable.

it is insane to me they don't say this. this poll out of new jersey said parental rights matters, i don't understand why it was so shocking. 85% of people agree parent should have the right to be in charge of kids education and gender identity. they have been saying this is just conservative fearmongering. that is how you had all the school boards across america switch from democrats to republicans, because this is on the ballot. i look forward to seeing how they frame the question tonight and how these candidates will answer. i don't think it is good enough to say i would abolish the department of education. it is a cultural shift that someone needs to lean on.
