she has a lot of foreign policy experience and she showed it. i heard someone on fox this morning and i was disturbed by it. the individual said nikki haley lost her cool. she was yelling. there was real resentment and i said, why is he picking on the woman when the men were all yelling as well. that was very offensive and i wonder how many americans thought that? with respect to desantis, i was happy with what he said, but he is awkward. it is like he didn't know what you should do, like taking a picture. chris christie was a bulldog. there were things he said that were not totally anti-trump where it seemed like he wanted to be in the race as opposed to being an anti-trumper. pentz, it was out of character for him to say the things he

said. trump was talking about yesterday and -- pentz was talking about yesterday and it did not matter. to me, the winners were nikki haley and desantis, who made some ground up, but the one thing i loved was when -- got up said to real, frack, and burn coal and he connected it to the economy. that was the most important connection. >> that was a clean and concise line. >> the big winners today or brett and martha. >> i have that in my notes, to bang. >> they had to put up with a loud audience and they did well. the person that zigs while everybody zags is going to come

out ahead. i am not going to jump on the hysteria train. it is too early, but you do when when you make everyone else react the same way and trump used to do that all the time. 20 people on the stage would scream and that is what ramaswamy was doing. he said bought and paid for. that triggered everybody and they all say the same thing and that works to your advantage because everything is focused on you. the focus was on him and not on desantis. desantis is supposed to be number two. they treated ramaswamy like number two. donald trump not being there ended up being a plus for these candidates because when you have a personality that bright, you cannot see the other people. ramaswamy got a strong opening.

a few of the other people probably did better. he seemed -- it goes to that thing. if you are versed in persuasion you will always have an edge and you can tell he's got it. it is too early to say who the democrats should be worried about, or if they should be worried about anybody. >> may be the person they are worried about is not on the stage. i thought one of the interesting things for me, i have never been in the debate room. i have always been in the staff room or onset. what was interesting as when he said you are all bought and paid for, it is not just the people on the stage that reacted. that was this moment. they ebbed and flowed. sometimes they cheered and sometimes they didn't. what i thought one last night

were issues and policy. people were hungry to hear what would you do to make my life better. >> who is the audience? >> they are rnc people. >> bought and paid for. >> everybody got a few seats. the other thing is, great ratings, more than anticipated. what i thought was interesting was when we had this voter panel from wisconsin, nine people for both days, before the debate and after the debate. we were able to talk to them and the consensus was there were a lot of people wear their hearts might have been with ramaswamy but their heads were with desantis and haley. they like dog, but they thought maybe he could be something else in the government.

the other thing is, the young people tend to like ramaswamy but they all said he is too polarizing, energizing, but he probably couldn't win. in wisconsin is where we will be a year from now for the rnc convention. it is a must-win for the republicans. i asked all of them, who thinks any of these candidates could beat biden in 2024 and they thought this is a field they have a lot of pride in. >> the democrat take away was what? do you fear any of these people? >> quaking in my boots. i found it interesting. i am glad we are in season versus in a few months we will see what is happening and that is what is important for the american people. the fact that donald trump wasn't there was an advantage to start talking about him and it

was important and i am glad they asked about how they responded to the indictments. this guy is up 30 or 40 points in the primary. i did not see a credible threat to donald trump winning the primary. i thought it was fascinating five of the eight were governors. they have executive experience to talk about it. i love chris christie, but talking about how he governed a blue state and how he was able to get that done, that is important. on the ramaswamy front, he and nikki haley seem to like the winners to me. it was very strange he started off by copying barack obama, the line about the skinny guy with a funny name. that is what barack obama said when he accepted the nomination

it was one of the things nikki haley talked about. she said that it's fine, you can say you are going to end all abortions and they will never happen, but she is being realistic about how many votes there are in the senate. i don't know any republican who has not said they are going to abolish the department of education. if that were true, it would have happen. it is a great goal. maybe that can happen. somebody has to declare a national emergency on education when it comes to the standards accomplishments and achievements. when nikki haley and many of the others mentioned the parental rights, especially on the gender issue, that is the number one thing. randy went after governor desantis today. they must think that he is a problem. i am sure he welcomes it. >> for the candidates, they

believe they would eliminate the department of education, but what purpose does it serve in this country? >> i don't know. it is an honest answer and i have never been honest. i usually pretend, but i do know this. it is not getting eliminated. it is never going to get eliminated. republicans have tried to eliminate government for decades and it just grows. the democrats keep throwing money at schools and expecting results and if that were true we would be matriculating and that is not happening. the democrats use the education system as a money laundering opportunity for donations, as a vote harvesting opportunity during elections and a brainwashing laboratory. they try to trap students in these laboratories and then

don't want to talk about it. republicans are talking about academic achievement and we have never talked about that in this detail. the parents have to get involved. you can't expect to send your school -- send your kid to public school and he will ace his lsat's. you have to read the kid books check his homework, run for school board, something, but to say it is all hands-off, you do it, you will never get a smart kid. 54% of republican voters think the schools teach too little on reading and writing. 50% want more on math, science and tech. how important is it to focus on these subjects? >> it is critical. this is one of the issues where you have unification amongst parents who want vast

improvement in terms of our public school system, more opportunity for vouchers. the governor of pennsylvania has close to 60% approval rating. we remember how glenn youngkin -- it is progress, what is going on. that he is part of the democratic national discourse is a departure from how it has been. navigator research has dials they are doing through the debate, seeing the trend lines people like. they talked about abolishing the department of education and the teachers union, they fell off a cliff with independent voters. it was straight down. independent voters are the key to this election. democrats and republicans don't have enough on their own. it is an issue. republicans talk about this all

and human trafficking. they are becoming big business. if we don't deal with this now they are going to be dealing with us later. >> i didn't understand the solution. i did not get specifics. we have to get tough on the border. we have to designate cartels terror organizations and ratchet up the cia, but what does that look like? they are following what fox is saying or what trump has said. what does it mean when you have border patrol agents shooting coyotes in texas. we are going to shoot anybody who comes across the border? you are going to stop fentanyl from coming into china? how? how are they going to partner with the mexican military? all of a sudden we are partnering with the mexican military? and you trust the mexican military?
