exclusive interview where he said not only was he convinced as we reported yesterday that the bidens had been bribed but that hunter biden was recruited to burisma specifically to pro ect the burisma from anything that might step in the way of its, quote, corrupt business dealings including protection from washington, d.c. >> it was a really good interview. brian did a really nice job. he's going to be on the program later on, i believe the 8:00 hour. but he went step by step with the logical questions you would ask of somebody who was in the middle of it, has been maligned, especially after he was fired as a corrupt prosecutor himself, he asked him about that but he specifically talked about the need for the biden family from the view of burisma in order to have as you talked about protection. here's viktor shokin talking to brian kilmeade last night.

>> i have no doubt that there were illegal activities engaged by burisma. it continued to expand and pochefski, the founder and ceo of burisma started to bring in people that could provide protection for him. hunter biden was among them and the corruption network expanded as a result and so, yes, to answer your question, there's no doubt in my mind that burisma was engaged in illegal activities. rachel: at one point in the interview, brian asked him, well, why don't you sue for defamation for all the people who say you were corrupt, deed, when you -- indeed, when you say you were not and were doing the right thing and had memos and letters from u.s. officials saying good job for rooting out corruption in ukraine. he said, look, i live on $800 a month. i can't sue these people. i don't have the means to do

that. brian said if you're corrupt, you're not really good at it. thathat was interesting as well. he talked about the humiliation for him and his country to have the u.s. come in and act like they own this country. in fact, he said that joe biden acts like this is his backyard and he can do whatever he wants in ukraine. listen to this. >> not only the position of president porshenko, the office was humiliated but the entire country of ukraine was humiliated and i developed a very firm understanding of the fact that vice president -- the vice president was only acting in his own interest. rachel: that's embarrassing to me as an american, i'm going to tell you what. we talk about interference in our our elections, interferencey foreign powers, russia, russia, russia, and we do this stuff in

other countries. >> we understand that america played an indispensable role across the globe for a long time. when you have that type of power and you start to get involved and money is in involved, in this case, i don't think that the bidens cared all that much what illegal or corrupt activity burisma would do in the country, as long as they got a cut of it and they know what their role was. call d.c. which is another revelation we had recently. that was the role of hunter biden back to his father, joe, and they delivered in this case and were able to create the perception that shokin was the the bad gay -- bad guys and thee the good guys. >> it's about whether or not it serves america's interest first. and as long as we were doing something that serves america's

interest first, i think you have a good case to make to the american public about why you're involved in some foreign power. the point of this story is that if the bidens took money from a company in ukraine, they weren't serving america's interest first but they were serving biden's interest first. rachel: yeah. >> by the way, he goon be asked about it again -- he began to e asked about it yesterday. >> mr. president, anything on jacksonville? viktor shokin says you accepted bribes, is that true? are you okay with your son accepting millions of dollars from russia, china and ukraine? how was vacation? prosecutor that's looking into burisma so he can get a cut of the money. remember, he's using our money and holding it over his head. that sounded really familiar to me. i think i remember a phone call that was made by president trump to zelenskyy where he said i need some information about whether there was corruption or not happening in ukraine with the biden family and then there was this little meddling nsa guy named vindemam who claimed this was donald trump holding money over the head of zelenskyy, aid money, but in fact we have that on tape with -- there are so many parts of this. rachel: it's so weird. >> it's a movie. it's so well documented, laid out, presented, that if anyone -- anyone in the press out there with the resources that they had tried to push, tried to dig, tried to interview, went to ukraine and tried to do this,

and brian kilmeade talking to s s hokin to get this information and it will take house republicans to subpoena to find out. rachel: i thought it was remarkable that it took so long to get this interview. >> there was something in 2019 that he had written or talked about some of this but as far as a public interview -- rachel: and he has a book coming out. >> and through a super brett it tear. now to some bad news. bob barker has died. rachel: he he was television n di stay for years. >> bob barker died in his los angeles home yesterday, due to natural causes. he hosted the price is right from 1972 to 2007, he won 19 emmys during his career, five of them for outstanding game show host. >> and now here's the star of the new price is right, bob

barker. >> thank you very, very much for inviting me into your home for the last 50 years. >> the price is right remembering him on instagram, saying bob made countless people's dreams come true and everyone feel like a winner when they were called to come on down. drew carey who took over for the show said, quote, a very sad day for the price is right family and a animal lovers over the world. there hasn't been a day on set that i didn't think of bob barker and thank him. i will carry his memory in my heart forever. barker making an appearance on "fox & friends" back in 2009 to talk about how he wanted to make every price is right episode special. listen. >> i tried over all those years to have every show look like opening day. i wanted to try to give each

show its own personality and -- >> that's how i felt as a viewer. >> i think it helped in the longevity of the show. >> he certainly did. prior to his time on television, barker served as a navy pilot during world war ii, the naval institute paying tribute to him yesterday, saying he flew a different aircraft during his time in the service. barker also appearing in several movies during his long career including happy gilmore. adam sandler famously fought barker in the film, saying, quote, the man, the myth, the best, such a sweet, funny guy to hang out with. loved talking to him, loved laughing with him, loved him kicking the crap out of me. he will be missed. rob schneider said one of the nicest things i heard in show business was bob barker saying i moved to hollywood to be an actor and the only person who let me do it was adam sandler.

barker was also a vocal animal rights activist and he was 99 years old when he passed away. such a legend. back to you. >> thank you, jackie. rachel: what great advice for anybody who is in broadcasting, treat every show like it's opening day. and he really did do that. by the way, if you're a child in the a '70s and '80s and you were home sick -- >> that music. rachel: that music. you know it. or you went to your aunt's house and they were watching and one day i got to be on the price is right and, boy, our producers were digging and digging, trying to find the tape and they couldn't. >> you were on the price is right? rachel: i was on the price is right. i was 18 years old. they would take you in groups of like six people at a time and you would go before the producers and then they did the show and i was like listen, everybody makes you know what of themselves on the show, i'm going to be really cool when i do this. if i get picked, i'm not going to do anything stupid.

and so anyway, i was the last contestant to be called. >> rachel campos come on down. rachel: come on down what did i do, i went, ahhhh, everything everybody else did and i ran down the stairs and bid on a stove and i won the stove and then i got up to the wheel and -- or no, then i won -- i bid on the stove and won a trip to brazil and the stove and i did the wheel and t didn't make it to the showcase. i was so close to the showcase show down. >> i feel like i've seen that clip. rachel: it's somewhere out there. >> i i've seen it. you've got to see 18 18-year-od rachel running down the aisle. rachel: he's a great guy. i love they talked about history about to animals. he was a true animal lover, used

list of 388 who are uncompanied for as -- one accounted for as 100 people came forward as alive and well. there are hundreds who remain missing. pastor sean houseman has been working with first responders and he joins us now. it's great to see you this morning. you and i have gotten to know each other a little bit over the last couple days and weeks. i know you're working directly with many of the people that were involved in what went down that day in maui, talking about the first responders on the ground and the families who lost someone in the fires in lahaina. tell me what you're experiencing when you talk to these groups of people. >> first of all, i want to thank you for not letting the camera turn away from maui so quickly. i know there's a lot of things going on they the world but we're suffering here. daily as i minister to both the first responder as a chaplain for the maui police department and also as a pastor, trying to reach our exphiewn at this, we hear the -- community, we hear

the horrific stories. it's a lot to walk -- like a lot to carry as like with these people. >> you know, you told me this, pastor sean, that at this point many people who lost family members have come to expect perhaps that family member is gone but it's hard for them to get the imagery and the story of what happened in lahaina when they get the knock on the door. >> that's right. sometimes there's a little bit of information that may have kept hope alive and they're waiting to see how that piece of information plays out. when they get the description of where their loved one was found, whether in a building, in a car, on the road, you see it in their face like they're reliving those last moments and it's just terrible. >> let me ask you more about the first responders. there's a lot of focus on the mistakes made that day. i know both sides of the story are true and many men did heroic

things, lost their own homes, put themselves in the line of of fire, at the same time were zap grapplingwith mistakes they maye that may have helped compound the tragedy. >> there are unanswered questions, like why was there no siren, why the water ran out, sometimes people wonder why were the roads blocked. i think what was happening in the middle of the chaos, there were so many things at a play and a nobody knew which one to focus on and that caused all that confusion and it just turned into the nightmare of what we're experiencing right now. >> and what i have come to understand as well, in real time in the moment, no one appreciated how quickly the fire was spreading with those 80-mile-an-hour winds. i heard of one individual say it blew through the homes and structures as quickly as it would a field full of wild, dry gas, i mean, within minutes was

jumping house to house. you've been involved -- i should tell the audience, you have been heroically involved in the recovery efforts in maui, as many people have, it's a true sense of community. we're looking at images on the screen of some of what's happened in calvary chapel and other churches and other people. tell me the response you've seen from the community but i think it's important we give perspective on how you feel about the federal government's response to what happened in maui. >> yeah. my daughter this morning she was saying dad, it's like our government has gotten s so fat that it can't run to our rescue when we need it. that's the thing, seems like the big government response is either too slow or they're trying to answer today's problems with the solutions of two decades ago and it's just not cutting it. what i have seen in amazing measures, not only from the first responders, but also from the community, is they are just

rushing in to help and it's just kind of solidifying that reality that the government doesn't make our dreams come true. the government doesn't make us who we are. it's our families that form the foundation of our life. it's our families that form the foundation of our communities. and family is intact here. community is strong. and community wouldn't the take no for an answer. people have stepped up and they have answered the call and from the very first day with all of the restrictions, you saw people finding ways around the barricades to actually get supplies to those who need it. all the way up until this morning there's still communities in lahaina that don't have electricity or water, and even this morning we're dropping off pallets of water in the neighborhoods just to make sure that they can even flush their toilets. the community keeps going. the government is trying but they're slow to the game. >> beautifully said of. start with the family,

this is where the storm is right now, in the western parts of the carribean. it's eventually going to start to pull towards the north. we have tropical storm warnings in effect, especially cancun, the yucatan channel has really warm water and eventually it will go towards the eastern gulf. some sort of landfall across parts of north florida, panama city, big bend, some place in there, the eastern side will get a lot of storm surge and potentially we could talk about a pretty strong hurricane for this. want to he'll the you right no -- want to tell you right now if you see the yellow you should set up your plans in place. one other thing, this is hurricane franklin, not going to impact the u.s., other than a make for dangerous ripcurrents so people trying to get to the beaches, be careful swimming in the waters. we've had a lot of fatalities this year from ripcurrents, rachel, over to you. rachel: former president trump faces 91 felony charges after

in georgia prison. i have to say, i think america is quickly becoming a communist country and or rule of law has been turned into what marxist called dictatorship, the party in power is after its political opposition and it's not just the president, but people like activists and they're now in jail. they are political prisoners in a free country of the united states. rachel: many of them in solitary confinement. it's really terrible. there's a lot of people who don't like donald trump, they hate him for a lot of reasons. what's your message to them. what's the warning to people who maybe don't like donald trump, would like to have him not be the next president, why is what it happening actually bad for them too? >> i have a word for them. forget about donald trump.

what is happening in america is that the party in power is abusing their power, going after any opposition. now it's donald trump. now it's maga. eventually, it's everybody. because communist regime would not also rate any opposition, any dissending voices so they're coming after all of us including those who were cheering you now for donald trump's indictment and they think they're on the winning team. they're not. we all will become victims if we let them succeed. rachel: so what's the message for what we should do now, as americans and maybe even what should conservatives do and they're the ones who are feeling like their point of view their side is being persecuted? >> i really have a word for everybody including the conservatives, learn about history and learn about cultural

barker. >> thank you very, very much for inviting me into your home for the last 50 years. >> tv legend and long time host of the price is right, bob barker, died yesterday from natural causes in his hollywood home. he was 99 years old. rachel: he hosted one of america's most popular game shows for 35 years which defined his five decade long career in broadcasting. >> tom shalub joins us to remember his legacy. what made him so good at what he did? >> he was great. he was likable. he was in your living room every day. we have a connection to him because we were sick. rachel: i mention thad. >> we were home sick, having chicken soup and were able to spend time with him. it's obviously always sad when someone dice but he had such -- dies but he had such a full

life. how ironic that he got almost to 100 without going over. rachel: i thought about that too. tom, what is it -- we were talking earlier about how classy he is. i wonder in his passing we could bring back some of that, the way tv used to be, the way hosts used to be, unlike us doing stuff on the fox square, things bob barker would never lower himself to do. >> like most of these people, he started in radio, started hosting as a dj but doing the other stuff, doing ads and this is the way people got into show bis in those days but he had a career before prices is right. i remember truth or consequences. rachel: you do? >> yes. that was his game show. he had a 15 year -- i think more than 15 years, we'll have to check the dates on truth or consequences. it was on until 1974 and so as a little kid i used to watch with my mom. >> you know, tom, bob barker kind of defines an a age in american culture, that i don't

know that we'll have another bob barker, not just in terms of his character, personality or class, but he was on a medium where there was essentially three options for 50 years. he was on every day in our living room as you pointed out. the age from 1950s to 2000s. i don't know that it will ever be replicated, because of that, i don't know there will ever be another american television icon like a bob barker. >> yeah. you had guys like dick clark and bob barker, they were classy and they were talented. guys like ryan seacrest, he's always around, always getting the jobs i want. people retire and then i think can i get an audition and they say no we're going with ryan seacrest. you know, television, it's a very interesting business but you do have to have the skills, okay, to succeed. bob barker had that extra special thing, he had a movie star quality as a came show host which is very -- game show host.
