rachel: you too. pete: none of those are repeats. you keep sending them in, we get to enjoy them, share them with you. rachel: good morning. pete: nice hairdo. rachel: it's my turn not to be on the hot seat. pete: i like it. rachel: thank you. pete: a little -- rachel: end of summer something. [laughter] pete: she described it as caramel. rachel: i love it. we'll see how long it lasts, but i like it. will: my turn -- rachel: you're next. will: not much i can do. something else that many people will like, one in particular, is the latest polling on republican presidential candidates -- rachel: and he's big on hair too and hair color. [laughter] pete: it's either blond or strawberry. we learned that after the mug

shot. rachel: ray we did. will: it is former president donald trump who is absolutely running away with the republican primary polling. it's gone up as well, as you can see. from april to now, from 48% support to 59% support while the closest challenge e, ron desantis the, has gone down from 24% to 13%. that's to in the primary were -- that's if the primary were held today. rachel: it's incredible. the indictment, and then a mug shot which they thought would sealing the deal on the other side against donald trump, that this would be just one step too far, republicans couldn't possibly put their number one primary candidate, allow their number one primary candidate to be somebody who just had a mug shot in a city jail in fulton county, and yet here we are. pete: and this poll was taken after the republican debate.
3:04 am
so if people were worried -- we were all positive, would it help, would it hurt? can't hurt him at all. a 46-point lead? two participants to the story are, of course, a 60% lead, 60% at this point is staggering, but also the cratering of ron desantis you can't ignore if you're at 24 in april and now you're at 13. and we're hearing reports about super pacs pulling out money, starting to figure out whether they can coronet to finance that that campaign. and, of course, he's overseeing what's going on down in florida which is exactly what he should be doing. i don't know what the prospects are for any other candidate at this point except for the following through of investigations and all the legal challenges. rachel: which is why you're seeing so much on the internet and podcasts saw, people saying will the democrats, will the deep state, what else can they do? you know there's not a lot left that they can do to stop this
3:05 am
train which is donald trump from moving forward. will they let him become president, i mean, what will it be? and it's an interesting question because i don't know what more they can throw at him. vivek ramaswamy, we had him on yesterday, and i think we had a really interesting conversation with him about some of the questions people still have about and the answer -- he a answers all the questions right. something i hear a lot of people say i really like him, but ooh i'm ott not sure i trust him. -- but i'm not sure i trust him. but he seems so sincere, and i can't question them, his sincerity myself. here he is talking about why he thinks he should be the republican candidate. >> i didn't come out of the birth canal spouting republican talking points, that's true. i came to my views based on my experiences. i was a ceo who, like so many ceoss, was browbeaten into potentially making statements on behalf of black lives matter after george floyd died.
3:06 am
among ceos in america, i was unique in saying that i refused to do it, to say that businesses should stay out of politics, should focus on profits. that ultimately led me to a journey that's caused me to arrive at the pro-american views that is powz today. and that's hi my -- why my convictions are deeper today. i'm an independent patriot who speaks the truth. will: and and, rachel, you can see that vivek ramaswamy's polling has moved from 22 percent to to 5% -- 2% to 5%. you know, i went to a bar in new york city yesterday, watched a little football -- a. rachel: actually looked a little rough this morning. will: whoa! [laughter] pete: he didn't say he went to a rager. will: two beers in the middle of the day, but that's going to bang around between the ears for the next four hours. [laughter] somebody around the corner of the bar starts talking to me,
3:07 am
doesn't share my politics ask was very intent on talking to me about it -- pete: because they knew your politics? will: yeah. and didn't want to let me enjoy the longhorns. but the thing i'm getting at, it's just the same story over and over. it comes back to donald trumpings that's it -- rachel: so this was a democrat. they're just on to accessed, aren't they? will: yeah. we can talk about issues but all of the issues, ultimately, are poured through the prisoning of -- prism of donald trump. of it's not like there's logical consistency that stretches beyond five years. you see what i'm saying? why i'm telling you that, while we're having this conversation, what can i think do to stop donald trump, i think all of that's true for a republican primary, but you have to think about the prism of a general election and what will be done is everything will be done. and we saw it played out in 2020, you know? every story twisted, lies told, censorship run amok, and all of
3:08 am
that is yet to come. that hasn't really begun. rachel: yeah. pete: you are exactly right. think of the vision of joe biden, that eerie red backdrop, you know, all the evil maga republicans, that was just for a midterm. donald trump wasn't even on the ballot. wait until he is. rachel: doesn't this mean that stuff's not working? pete: well, it's not working in the republican primary. if you add up desantis, ramaswamy and trump which is effectively an america first type group, 77%, 80% of the republican electorate. he's remade the party. they hate what that looks like, and that's why an op-ed in politico caught our eye. it was written by the son of george soros, his name's alex soros. he's taking over for his father. so the open society foundation will now be run by his son who's a 30-something even more ideological left-winger. it's not a very well written
3:09 am
ed -- op-ed, but he did mention donald trump. there he is on the right. here's a quote. as someone who spends up to half their time working on the continent and thinks -- i guess -- will: that's europe, dude. i'm sorry i said, dude, but just real quick, it's the center of the universe for so many people. pete: yeah. will: like, the world pivots on an axis around, i don't know, roughly paris? pete: we'll get back to quote, your exactly right. and thinks former united states president donald trump or at least someone with his isolationist and anti-european politics will be the the republican nominee, i believe maga-style victory could be in the end be worse for the e.u. than the u.s., and such an outcome will undermine the progress achieved on many fronts in response to the war in ukraine. that money is coming on behalf of presumably joe biden, whoever it is, against donald trump. rachel: so in other words, what
3:10 am
you're seeing is that they have a ton of money, as you know, george soros does, and they meddle in all kinds of european countries. they've been in ukraine, they've been kicked out of hungary, famously, he had a university there with where he was stirring the pot and creating all kinds of trouble, and they said you've got to get out, your policies are bad, you're hurting our country. that said, they're laying off a lot of people, but it's not because they're losing money, it's because they're redirecting all of this money, they're overhauling their finances to redirect the the money at donald trump. that's how big of a threat they think he is. will: and to my point, it hasn't even yet begun. rachel: exactly right. will: i don't know if it's my eyes are swollen, but with i did not attend burning man like tens of thousands of others, cultural festival, you know, out -- is it in california? rachel: i think it's california.
