guys? >> steve: alex, this is a different kind of threat from the united auto workers because because the big three in the united states, all voted, you know, in the upper 90's of their membership, yep, if we don't get the stuff we are going on strike, what, september 14th? >> september 1st. these are hefty ghapsdz. the union has acknowledged that as well. you are talking about 46% pay raise. this is a time when unions are coming in really strong with some of their demands. we saw what happened with u.p.s. and others. so this a time when labor unions want to show their strength. the president says he has long been behind them but so far has not interestingly won over the endorsement of the united auto workers union. >> ainsley: any chance they will compromise 46% increase in pay is steep. >> yeah. that's something that the union's president, when he was offering that reaction to the president's reaction, he said maybe the president knows that these auto workers are going to come in and strike a deal with us last minute. maybe he knows that and maybe we

are ready to settle. the unions when they authorize a strike the goal ♪ to strike it's to reach deal. hopefully a compromise is on the table. >> griff: maybe he is in for a rude awakening if the uaw doesn't get what they want. thank you. >> ainsley: she put up the truth social what donald trump said on truth social and she read a portion of it. the very last portion of it says choice in schools and choice in cars. people want the option. they want to have the option to have the hybrid or have the electric car if that's what they want or a gas guzzler if that's what they want. >> steve: right. trump feels and a lot of people feel like like the administration is jamming the ev vehicles around our throats. >> ainsley: we are not prepared people say. >> steve: certainly the infrastructure ♪ there hard to find a place to plug in your car. the united auto worker has a long record of backing democrats including joe biden when he ran for president back in 2020. the uaw is angered that the

administration has been pumping a lot of tax money into ev suppliers. and so, you know, a number of other unions have already jumped on the joe biden re-election bandwagon. not the united auto workers. not only are they trying to extract something from the big three car make makers. they are trying to extract somebody from joe biden. >> he is saying at love things that we have already opened the show with to another things he said the cover of the "new york post" today lie board day. that's a reference to on the inside. >> labor day? >> ainsley: labor day. >> liebor day. he said he cut the deficit $1.7 trillion. but the fact-checkers say maybe not so. the committee for responsible budget kind of the referee in these things, predicts that when that fiscal year ends in 25 days from now. it's going to show it's more.

$2 billion. >> steve: 2 trillion. >> ainsley: 1.7 trillion. they are saying no at the end of this month we will see that it's up $2 trillion. mike pence was on the campaign trail and says he was criticizing biden's run away spending. the economy is in a downward spiral. and exploding federal deficit, inflation and erasing any wage increases. that's the thing he could say i cut it 1.7 trillion. but when you factor in erase guilty any wage increases and spending and spending money we don't have then that increases it another $2 trillion. >> also, over the weekend, the "wall street journal" came out with a poll and i'm sure you saw a little bit of it, head to head, donald trump and joe biden are tied right now. and the question is joe biden too old to run for president? 73% of americans say yes. he is just too darn old. he made a joke about his age yesterday when he was doing a labor union event.

looking for a change. neither leading candidate is the change they are looking for that is what maker thiessen said on "special report." >> look how he has declined in the last 15 months and imagine what he is going to be 15 months from now. but the other reality is a similar number of americans don't think that donald trump should be the nominee of the republican party, the speaking clear to both parties seven in 10 don't want a biden parity rematch both parties stick their fixers in the air singing na na na, i can't hear you, i can't hear you. >> ainsley: if that is true why so many supporting donald trump. is he the clear cut winner. he is saying the majority of republicans. i disagree with that the majority of the polls want donald trump. >> griff: one of the things mentioned significant in this poll by 11 points those voters

said that trump with 51% compared to 41% for biden had accomplishment, a record of accomplishment. had done things. you just heard a moments ago that last guy didn't do anything. 512040 says he didn't. other thing about this age go deep in the poll they asked whether or not trump or biden were mentally up to the job. there is age. we are all going to decline. it's a question that differs for everybody when that hits 36% compared of biden. they see trump as more mentally fit with a stronger record of accomplishment, some very telling details. >> they also asked if that poll if they approver disprove of joe biden doing on let's say the economy and almost 60% say they disapprove prove. it was 59%. when it comes to inflation and

rising costs 63% disapprove. those are the issues. >> steve: right. also, there are legal issues that hang over donald trump. and in the "wall street journal" poll, a majority of the people who responded viewed donald trump's actions a after the 2020 election as an illegal effort to stop congress from declaring joe the winner. so, a majority said meh, that's bad. >> say they are allowed to you question whether or not it's a fair election. democrats have done that democrats now using is it the 114th amendment, section 3 because of insurrection. because of january 6th he should not be on the ballots. >> griff: this is all brand new facts that the many thousands that were stranded in that burning man festival will be learning about because, finally people are escaping that festival in nevada after officials lifted a driving ban put in place after the heavy rain and thick mud trapped the

and she chooses to prioritize the issues that myself and a lot of people within my generation care about. >> steve: can you explain why she is not in the top tier right now. she is kind of in the middle of the back. >> her performance in the primary debates really did impress me and i think she does have time to make up the discrepancy between the polling. so i hope she does. >> steve: sammy, you like r.f.k. jr.? >> yes. i will be voting for r.f.k. but going back to that poll real quick, i got a question what was the voter pool that they got are because from my vantage point i don't see biden tied with trump right now. i think i see trump has a small lead because biden's leadership. i think it's been lacking. >> steve: during the commercial you told me that a lot of democrats who you know -- >> -- yes. >> steve: are going to vote for trump. >> if given the choices between trump and biden. a lot of people that i know on

the democratic side will probably end up voting for trump. >> shannon you like ron desantis. >> i love ron desantis. i think he is great. he shows strong leadership in so many fronts. in florida he is crushing it. i mean, is he doing more than i expected him to do is itedy of of a trump biden rematch hits you how? >> i'm not comfortable with it. i think that i have so many questions in reference to trump and his indictment his head is not in the game. it's not that i'm against him. i just don't see him focusing on what we really need for the country. >> steve: alexandra, what about one of the things that donald trump has made very clear and a number of republicans in talking about what the legal panel that donald trump is facing there are two tiers of justice. if you are a democrat. you are on one tier and if you are a republican another.

do you agree with that? >> that's an interesting statement. justification behind that personally. i'm not interested in the personal blood sports. i want to see a leader who cares about the issues that actually impact me and my future. >> steve: sure. sammy, what are the issues that impact you the most? >> well, the ukraine war. the economy, immigration. we're have a grade d or f on those issues. it's happening on biden's watch. it's time for change. >> steve: shannon? >> right now i currently care about the n.j. elections so i need a leader that's actually going to actually move forward, whales are dying on the beaches. kids are being sexualized in schools. parents on the it chopping block for parental rights. kills pocketbooks. we have a governor that's terrible. >> steve: right. and i live in emergency as well. >> all these progressiveness is being like the views and being shoved down our throats and i mean, i need a president that's
