mountainous areas that rescue crews are struggling to get to. we're told multiple buildings have collapsed and several historic landmarks are damaged . they include rubbishes historic walls, they date back to the early 12th century, locals are being urged to remain calm and exercise caution do the risk of aftershocks. united nations says it is standing by to help and ready for the moroccan government if need be, and according to the u. s geological survey, this is the strongest earthquake to strike the north african country in more than 120 years again. if you're just now joining us, the death toll continues to rise in morocco that follows a powerful 6.8 magnitude earthquake. it struck overnight just south of marrakech, and more than 630. people are now confirmed dead. nearly 350 of other people are hurt. those numbers have more than doubled since the earthquake first hit and they could rise even higher. we will, of course, continue to

follow the latest on this breaking news story and will update you as soon as we learn more. i'm actually strohmeyer tore. i'm ashley strohmier. now back to regular programing already in progress. >> the economy, as i've been saying for two years, remains the top for voters across the country. and biden's numbers remain really grim. >> 58% in that new cnn poll are his policies are making the economy worse. and the only thing the white house says in response is now with biden nomics in action and some of our investments playing out 35,000 investments and 4500 communities across this country. we are starting see some results. >> well, at least they try to spin the economy issue. >> they don't really even try to explain how their border policy is really helping america. we know it's not. this week, we thought we saw the beginning of a dam with comments made by mayor eric adams in new york. >> every service in this city
1:03 am
is going to be impacted. all of us are going to be impacted by. >> this. i said it last year when we had 15,000. i'm telling you now 110,000. the city we knew we're about to lose. >> but instead of calling out the white house, adams blamed republican governor greg abbott. >> we turned this city around and 20 months. and then what happened? started with a mad man down in texas. decided he wanted to bus people up to new york city. >> adams isn't a serious man. neither is massachusetts liberal governor maura healey calling in the national guard to help with influx of illegals there when she should have been calling biden and telling him it's time to end the madness at the border. >> but regardless, we know mayorkas is a dhs secretary, knows that this issue is hurting them politically because they're now mulling the absurd move of trying
1:04 am
to force the illegals to stay texas until their asylum hearings take place. by the way, the current case backlog for immigration cases is four years. now, think about the irony here . ditched trump's highly effective remain in mexico policy and instead now wants to adopt a remain in texas policy. >> that's cute. now wonder his numbers on immigration and the border in the toilet. and it's not just new york. in chicago. they're now building massive winterized tent camps there before the cold weather sets in. >> now, what could go wrong there? >> well, here's one thing. tensions have risen between migrants and police. tuesday, cpd says a 20 year old man was taken into custody after threatening officer. >> he's charged with two misdemeanors. >> and chicago residents are increasingly fed up. >> i want them there. take them someplace else. i've them back again
1:05 am
on twitter. >> i don't care where they go. this is wrong. you get 93% of the people who within the city call black people. what have you done them? >> it's stunning, though, how dismissive democrats can be when they're pressed ever so lightly on the problems that their policies caused made worse. late today on msnbc, nancy pelosi was asked about what she thinks could be done to address the crime and drug epidemic her own hometown. >> it's about mental health issues that to homelessness, about drug use that lead to homeless, about affordable housing. but we're very proud of our city. our city is alive and vibrant and thriving, and it's great. >> i don't even know what that means. well, it's devastation as far as the eye can see in blue state america. idiotic policies have led to nightmarish results. we've reported on them. and there some recognition among some democrats that they do need reverse course.
1:06 am
>> after seeing its city sink into zombie land despair, portland city leaders finally voted to ban the use of hard drugs on public property. >> now who could have thought that making it legal to use mass smoke, fentanyl and heroin on public property was a bad idea? politicians are reading the polls here. drug legalization marijuana in particular, and decriminalization generally has across the board been a complete disaster everywhere it's been adopted. >> i predict other states will see the of their ways. now this issue is another black eye for liberals, and it's an obvious fact that drug use is bad for business. >> it fuels crime, psychosis and even death. david of portland fire and rescue station one says his station alone responded to a total of 76 overdose calls over the labor weekend. >> in some cases, we treat the same patients times in the same week. and we know through our partners at imr that
1:07 am
the same patient has overdosed multiple in a day and knowing that when that even when we try to help or help is unwanted wears on all of us. >> at this point, it's worth asking how much more wreckage do we need to see with our own eyes before the democrat power base really admits it more than a messaging problem on its hands? angle viewers know my connection and interest in minneapolis, especially with what's happened crime and drugs since the floyd riots. the police staffing shortage there is unsustainable, according to their police chief . and there's been a sharp increase in criminal gang activity, assaults and carjackings. last week, a far left official with minnesota's liberal dfl party was violently attacked outside her home and posted this for very young men, all carrying guns. beat me violently down to the ground in front of our kids. the young man held our neighbors up at gunpoint
1:08 am
when. they ran over and tried to help me. all in broad daylight. i have no doubt they've done this before. we need to catch these young people, hold them in custody and prosecute them. >> well, we're glad she's okay, but she could have helped prevent more crime if also recanted what she was calling for. a june 20, 20 dismantling the minneapolis police department. clearly, democrats need to do a lot of soul searching about wreckage they left in their wake. and if they don't change soon, i am telling you tonight, voters will be searching elsewhere for candidates with real solutions, not silly spin. >> and that's the angle. joining now is georgia state rep marsha maynor, who left the democratic party this year. and daniel efron's, a campus reform correspondent. representative, we've talked before about why you left the democrat. but now seeing how things have gotten even worse over the past few months. what's your message to those
1:09 am
democrats who are still just complaining, messaging and maybe not getting enough money like eric adams, but not really focusing on the policies themselves that are driving this decline and despair? >> the answer is to focus on the policies we cannot continue to put politics over people. at the end of the day the people are actually screaming, saying are not happy with this. you are taking our resources away and putting them in places we don't want them. if they would just listen to the voters, they could have a chance. >> but it's what i'm doing right now is going into my community and really just exposing the truth to them and. >> they're listening. well, daniel, we've seen african-americans in chicago express their total outrage about how migrants are soaking up all this money. a $30 million a month. and by some estimation, and you
1:10 am
in new york city, where you're where you're living, what are you seeing there and how do you respond? the concerns about crime and filth, all the other problems that the migrant population has brought to the city and is eric adams not talking about the border and not just money. >> yeah, it's insane. as a son of legal haitian immigrants, i am outraged. i live in new york city all my life for 19 years. i went to better trains, better but cleaner streets, better, policing me. and all the residents of new york has gotten none of those things. but the moment legal come to our city, they get free hotel rooms and they get health . it's insane. as they're ready for campus reform, i can tell you this is happening in cities across america. universities are even giving college to illegal immigrants. free tuition is a slap in the face to my parents and parents across america who sacrificed
1:11 am
a lot for their kids. >> representative, we heard this before, though, before the midterm election that african-americans and other americans were very upset by, very upset about the border and really worried about the economy. but there wasn't that much of a shift in. the voting patterns among those minority voters. >> so they seem outrageous in polls. but on the turnout and on the on the vote changes, you're not seeing that much movement. how you get them to the polls. and to finally break with the democrat party. >> i think opportunities like this, at the end of the day, you have me on a national platform firm and there are going to be african-americans and they're going to be democrats that are listening to this message. everything that you just said prior bringing a sign, i sat here laughing because it really no sense what you were saying, like, how did we even get to this spot where we are allowing foolishness us to
1:12 am
rule our country? and so i'm going to continue to educate the people in my district, people like daniel, other leaders and other representatives that are changing their minds we really need to collectively put our voice together because. if we don't, we are going to lose this country faster than you think. >> and republicans have to actually go into these areas and go into these neighborhoods and not be afraid, actually speak to people about their concerns, what the solutions are. that's got to happen. daniel new data from the center survey center on american life shows that black americans, especially younger ones ages 18 to 49, are souring on biden. and just 36% now believe he accomplished a good or great deal. 21% want him as the 2024 nominee. and less than half, 48% identify as democrat. is the dam finally breaking?
1:13 am
>> i think the dam is finally breaking. laura, i am sick and tired of the rhetoric that i do not have agency in this country and plenty of other young black americans believe that the same. a big example is. affirmative action. i do not want to be told that i need some of equitable policy to be in a great institution. i want to own my accomplishments and my shortcomings in america. >> it's great to have you both on tonight. thank you so much, representative maynor and daniel. now what we learned from fulton county grand jury and their report. unreal. and who almost became codefendant. >> former assistant u.s. attorney saul wisenberg unpacks it for us next next. >> so you are not kidding. this place looks right. where do you want to start? definitely the exhibits. >> then virtual reality, then the zoo. but first, kamala, i'm going

1:19 am
grand jury recommended charging him to forme and 1r senators an7 others in addition to the actual defendante acs. >> that's 39 people in total. joining me now to just dissectti all this, all wisenberg, former deputy independent counsel, fox news contributor, and matt towery, former georgia state rep. >> sa tao why did the grand jure want to go after those senators? and is it customary to releasey grand jury report, which seems to be kind of unfair to the wern people who actually weren't indict, indicted? chance t >> right. if you're indicted, you have a chance to vindicate yourselfe in court. these people are just named and smeared. but lauran smeared.a, it really dependsf upon each state's law and b the state of georgia allows them to be released under certain circumstances. and that was done. why do i think that they decided that they wantednd to indict these three people who were sitting senators because they didn't understand
1:20 am
the law because clearly these three senators were engaged in core protected constitutional nstituti speech. there's no question about that. and that's why i imagine as well as did not end upple wh adding them to the indictment. >> and mat t for people who think that this whole thing for charadey and just highly politicized and used to intimidate people from workin belg, anyone who believes in the issues that donald trump believesjustuel to in, dos just add more fuel to the fire? i mean, those people weren't indicted. th >> but again, the fact that this was even in the realm ofm possibilit youy shows you how far we've fallen. >> well, i mean, your viewerewei generally know me as a pollster, but i did serve in the georgia house and have i enor in georgia politics befoe i retired florida. i know the peoplhao telle there i have to tell you, it reminds o me of the old andy griffith show where the took over the sheriff's office when sheriff taylor lefentiret. he locked up the entire city, including at the a.p., looking at that list was phenomenal. some of these people on there are some of the nicest people,
1:21 am
for example, the two u.s. senators who they're talking kne about kelly and david, if you gave them a gun and a knif eto ,they would know how to commit a crime. so i just i was astounded to see their names brought in to a criminal intenf a rit of a rico case.ry but i have to say this. th the specialrand grand jury. the d.a. obviously did not seekeveryo indictment against them. and so for that,s i'm everyones pleased because it could have become an even bigger disasterbr than it looks like it is right now. >> now, saw congressman jamin jamie is insisting that none of this is politica>>l. and ju the release of this documentry from the special grand jury decisively refutes the claimso that that means wilson is onsomn some kind of indiscriminate got isan dragnet against all republicans. it gives me confidence that we've got prosecutors here thatv are making very fine grained, selective judgments. is th
1:22 am
soat is that really a fair conclusion here? do we think anyone , certainlyct anyone who supports president trump is going to think, oh, good, they didn'ta indict these people? so this means we're really evenhanded in politics, didn't come into play at all? >> well, despite some of s the things he occasionally says, congressman raskin, is not an ignorant. u just so i have to believe that that statement you just used was was basically intentionally mendacious. i mean, the idea that undery the rico statute, you could indict leffler for a speech made to her constituents, saying that she was going support, you know, delayingtifia the certificatiotin and that wat coming from the state, the various states.nsider the idea that anybody would consider that for a moment sod couldthing that prosecute under the constitution or under the criminal a law is just
1:23 am
a joke. >> and he and he certainly knows that. well, on the other front, we have the judge refused to allow the case to be moved to federal court on behalf of emotion. so you'll take to first, since you're the lawyer here, that mark meadows had filedproceedi to remove this case from the state proceedinglly to finy deal with this in a federal venue and said now, yeah, i haven't read the opinion yet, but i've read the stor>>y on it with some quotes from the judge's opinion. and e es i he got it wrong because he said that some of meadow's actiond thats were not part of his job as chief of staff. and my understanding of the case lawief of s under is if his actions were connected to office as chief of staff to the president, then it would chief ofbe removable. >> but i imagine it's going to go to a higher court. yeah. hi will bethis ga appealed. but it again, begs the question, do people believpe
1:24 am
that this is actually going to be fairly decidedat in a stae setting and a county that is overwhelmingly liberal liberal? if that's directed at me, the answer is most people there don't believe that's the case. if you look at the polling numbers, the vast majority of georgians, particularly are highly doubtful about this entire matter. i'm still a member of the georgighly douout thisa bar something be careful what i say about the people in the court l the peosystem. but what i am going to sayk very is that it does look very political and today's revelations going to addin to that feeling that it is a political as much as a legal move and saw. >> does this hurt president trump'l mos motion fot the same thing? one would think that's going to make itpresidor the more dift as well for him to remove it to federal court. >> again, i'll have to look at this particular opinion by thisg judge, but i thinkot he's probably got a much stronger case thanronger who's serving is as chief of staff. i have to believe he'll be able to removg as chie this eventuali >> oh, well, that's going to make it even more interesting. sos
