form a new search perimeter overnight. >> pete: brooke singman has the latest. >> we are learning escaped killer donnell low cavalcante broke into a home. the homeowner shot at him several times but he still managed to get away a stolen rifle. he is armed. residents in the area are asked to lock all doors and windows and secure vehicles and remain indoors. do not approach. call 911 if seen. now, hundreds of police officers have now flooded the surrounding areas to track downs dangerous killer. it's been reported that a green hoodie and a pair of prison shoes belonging to cavalcante have actually been found nearby. now this convicted killer has been spotted in several townships across pennsylvania with this last manhunt being just 40 miles northwest of philadelphia. this development comes as we head into the second week since cavalcante escaped from chester county prison. he had been sensed to life in

prison for stabbing and killing an ex-girlfriend back in 2021. now, he was also seen by police over the weekend after he showed up at the homes of two former co-workers. as you can see here, it looks like is he freshly shaven and police say this man is dangerous and they will not stop until is he apprehended. listen prepare for the long game. what we do best. the fugitive investigation every day this is a manhunt. all it means to us it's a longer fugitive investigation. >> $25,000 reward for information leading to his arrest. >> he did the crab walk up the side of the wall apparently someone else had done that brook at the prison a few weeks or earlier this guy did the same

this is death by a thousand cuts for nypd and for the city as well. nypd and law and order go so goes new york city. we already had a crisis of staffing for the nypd long before it new debate. we had numbers -- the largest in decades of people retiring and just leaving the force all together. it comes from laws that were passed like cashless bail. attacks on qualified immunity inside of the city, you have prosecutors like alvin bragg who wouldn't prosecute cases after the good work of the nypd would be done to put a case together. so, you already had the impact on morale. you had people fearing safety. if you want to be a law enforcement officer, you don't have to go that far outside of the city where you are going to get paid more, higher morale. elected officials in have your back. you raise a family with a yard. and now you hit this on top of it with all the other crime and all the other impacts on morale. people are going to just throw

force winds extend 185 miles from the center of the storm. so you are going to feel some impacts. you know, rip currents, dangerous, high surf beach erosion. here is the latest track. 3 or 4 days very good consensus bermuda you need to keep an eye on this. saturday and sunday, the computer models sort of diverge a little bit more. center of circulation should remain in the center of the cone. but, again, boston, bangor, up towards eastern canada, you need to be paying close attention. will this be a hurricane? possible. maybe a category 1 or a very strong tropical storm. but, here's our track confidence. so you can see high confidence as we go through the next three to four days. west of bermuda, we think. we still have to watch for coastal new england including cape cod and maine. so about the line is, make a plan, pay attention to the forecast. if you live across eastern long

let me tell you it's probably the merits of the case. she is indicating as a political stunt. this is a political move by her. i could tell you that the governor youngkin's actions in this case are totally warranted. he indicated that he is -- he has righted a wrong, but he has done more than that what he has done is ended the suffering of this family. this father had a daughter who went to school and was severely sexually assaulted. he was told by the day as at the school board meeting they don't have any record of it. sit down and be quiet. at the same time, he was being heckled and talked to by people in the audience. weighs very upset. the issue comes down to whether or not it was justified to arrest him and the answer to that as far as i'm concerned is no. he was under certainly severe stress. but the fact of the matter was

that we have a jurisdiction here where this commonwealth's attorney is taking a position that she is not going to prosecute certain misdemeanor cases, including assault and battery, theft cases but she prosecuted this one not only did she/herself prosecute this case but asked for jail time in this case. so basically what she did, in my opinion, is she took this father, based on this assault, whose family was the entire they were victims as well and made them the defendant and tried to put him in jail for this. there is no excuse for that it's political she has operated this office by way of political mandates that she has. i will tell you i used to be the commonwealth attorney here. i had a reputation that i do not in any way, shape, or form bring politics into the courtroom that is exactly what is happening
