white house this morning and is returning to criticism for claiming he was at ground zero, just one day after september 11th. he wasn't. turns out records show otherwise. >> ainsley: this as the white house decides to announce a prison swap deal with iran on 9/11. and that includes unfreezing $6 billion in sanctioned money. >> pete: negotiating with terrorists on the anniversary of 9/11. mark meredith joins us live this morning with more from the white house. hey, mark. >> pete, ainsley and brian. good morning to all three of you. president biden is back in washington after whirl wind trip to india and vietnam. you are right there. is a bit of controversy this morning after comments he made in alaska on his way home. it all has to do with 9/11. the president was in alaska meeting with u.s. troops in anchorage. it was there he was talking about the anniversary of the 9/11 attacks. in which he suggested that the day after the world trade center towers fell that he went up to new york city despite there being no records of him going there so soon after the towers

fell. >> we know the distance did not dull or diminish the pain we felt all across the nation of september 11th. because we know that on this day 22 years ago from this base, were scrambled and high alert to escorts planes through the airspace. >> now, fox news asked the white house if the president misspoke originally or whether when he talked about being there the day after or if there was any sort of change of what he was trying to say. the reply we got from the white house they pointed to some news articles that show that the president, who was then senator of delaware, went to ground zero about nine days after the attack. we don't know if he is going to clarify further later today hope to learn a few more details efforts underway to negotiate with iran and secure the release of five americans being held by the islamic republic on monday we learned waivers were issued unfreeze iranian financial assets that being held in south korea. be allowed to go to north korea.

where the -- i haven't seen it but 11 appropriations bills emerged from the senate. the house promised to do the same thing. whatever it is. you are the majority. do your job. and even if it means coming back before labor day and getting it done, you have three weeks to roll out 11 bills. even if they are dramatically different from the senate. don't give chuck schumer something to talk about. say i'm going to do it. this is my idea with the spending should be. even if they are cuts. the other thing to keep in mind, too. is that among the people who are not for this is ken buck in colorado is he only lose about five votes. a new york congressman, too. not going to vote for it. a lot of people are going to be asked to walk the plank if they vote for it. they are in these purple areas and maybe pulled off upset win if you vote for it. even if you are conservative, you might be doing something that will hurt that seat when you run again. >> pete: i think it becomes the kind of pressure valve for a lot of conservatives by allowing the impeachment inquiry that might

sending so many migrants to new york city. that's not a smidge of what is he is doing with in texas. they have been having this battle in the press for a long time. last friday eric adams called greg abbott a mad man and now greg abbott is responding. listen to this. >> the mayor may have made it to be mayor of new york but he could not last a week in texas. they have so few migrants in new york compared to what we deal with every single day, jesse. it's just outrageous. what is maddening is the fact that in new york and chicago and d.c. and l.a. and other places, they put out policies self-proclaiming that they are sanctuary cities. they love to promote these liberal ideologies until they have to actually live up and apply them. it's clear that the policies of sanctuary cities and letting everybody live for free simply do not work. this is a day of reckoning for all of the united states realizing that the liberal

>> carley: we are back with your headlines, seven people hurt after four-car crash in los angeles yesterday ended with one of the vehicles flipped upside down in someone's front yard. the driver of one of those cars was reportedly trying to escape police quhted crash happened. investigators believe he ran a stop sign. three people in the suspect's vehicle were arrested after officers found guns, jewelry and a ski mask in their car a massive sinkhole appearing in san francisco. look at that. this happened yesterday after a water main broke on sunday. crews working overnight to repair the main which was originally installed back in 1949. an emergency clean up company estimates at least 115 homes and businesses were affected by sand and water from the aftermath. it's estimated the devastation
