this morning the white house is weighing in about what they think of all this coverage writing to media outlets about what is happening in a memo obtained by fox in the last hour and sent to media organizations including here at fox. the white house says it's time for the media to ramp up its scrutiny of house republicans for opening an impeachment inquiry based on lies. in and this memo, the white house details what they say are several signs that this has not been motivated by facts but instead by political beliefs and feelings from the former president. we do expect to hear the republicans weigh in on all of these latest changes, including later next hour on "fox & friends." when you hear from congressman jim jordan and congresswoman elise stefanik. guys, back to you. >> brian: mark, can you get your head around exactly what changes now that they are doing the inquiry without a house vote? >> i think what's going to change here is the timeline. now, obviously, there is going to be this pressure to have either a report compiled or for the -- these different congressional committees to take specific actions, which committee is going to handle the
4:05 am
finance aspect. which committee is going to handle how the department of justice was moving forward. kind of splits it up and moves these congressional inquiries into a specific timeline. you are right, brian, the big question here is how quickly will all of this get done? you have the iowa caucuses around the corner, four months away from now. still a government funding showdown underway. all of this is going to be happening at the same time. to the white house as they are saying, brian, they are saying this is simply a waste of time. >> pete: mark meredith, thank you. saw the memo go out to the press. it's our marching orders. you better follow them. >> brian: telling the press to look into this. >> pete: time to ramp up your scrutiny of the republicans and their process. when will the media ramp up their scrutiny of joe, of hunter, of these payments, of these associations. of the whistleblowers? of the 1023s of the whatsapp messages. we only know of this because of the house republicans for a year and a half. what if the media actually examined it, too?
4:06 am
>> ainsley: these republicans are saying nancy mace you quoted her in the last hour, if you could see what we have seen, you would think that there needs to be an impeachment inquiry, too. there is so much that they are not able to share with us that will come out eventually. why are they doing this. >> brian: suspicious activity reports. >> ainsley: sars reports. many the treasury department has 150 transactions flagged as suspicious activity from the biden family. 20 million in payments were directed to the biden family members and associates through shell companies, according to bank records. the president lied to the american public. you heard that when peter doocy asked him if he was involved or knew about -- if he ever talked to his son about his business dealings. well then we see pictures later on of him on the golf course with devon archer and other people that worked with hunter biden. then we know he goes over to ukraine and he says if you don't fire this prosecutor, i'm not giving you american tax dollars. and then they fired the prosecutor. his son is on the board. the board is paying him millions of dollars to be on that board and he has no experience.

the family has been offered special treatment by the biden administration. and allegations of abuse of power and obstruction and corruption. this is giving the committees the full power to gather all the facts and give us all, the american public, some answers. >> brian: cnn did a poll. they asked the people what you think about this whole investigation, 61% believe the president was involved in his son's business dealings, 42% believe he did something illegal. and that's without this inquiry. >> pete: significance, brian, you brought it to my attention this morning david ignatius, prominent columnist for "the washington post" who is very friendly to joe biden and democrats. and uses a lot of words in his column today to say good things about joe biden but then at the end says joe biden should not run for re-election in 2024. >> brian: kamala is not the answer either, a "the washington post" editorial and says bow out. we only have a couple of months to get somebody else. >> ainsley: a lot of democrats are saying that. 77% of adults think biden is too

4:09 am
here is what he said when we talked to him in the previous hour. >> the cia in their effort to decide whether this came from the lab, the virus came from the lab or it came from nature, they have a covid discovery team that comprised of seven people. six of the seven people went with the idea that this came from the lab. they leaned towards that with some competence. one senior leader more in favor of it coming from nature. fine, but instead of going forward with that, somehow they changed things around to say we're unable to determine at all. the big question is why? why was this done in the agency at cia? and why was this done amongst these scientists led by dr. fauci or pro. ed by dr. fauci? >> brian: the fbi says it came from a lab. the cia said yeah, we don't know. now we find it most likely came from nature. why is that? we can't even -- we had some questions about the cia, i know in the past. but we depend on the cia to do a
