may know just retired for professional wrestling but one of my good buddies is still in the ring and his life story is nothing short of astounding. from growing up poor in california to becoming championship wrestling in the u.s. and japan to just buying his first home, with me now is my foot and brother professional wrestling and bareknuckle fighter, junior, also a super dad. how are you? we did not call each other about matching shirts. it's an honor. we did not call each other, just jack dudes wearing black. that's how it works out. >> game recognizes gain. how are you doing? >> it's an honor to talk to you about this because the last time we work together, all the buzz was that i was retiring and stuff like that but you shared a special moment with me and i was honored that was more important than anything else going on. you shared a picture and it

changed, honestly changed my life because i feel my childhood was alone and i see someone literally going through almost even worse a situation. this picture i think we have it, a dream to be a wrestler since you were a child and you were homeless with your mom living out of a tent, correct? >> correct, one 100%. it was tough. you can see through that, that was the only toy i was able to keep and it was tough as you see in the picture, that was my bed. that's an actual sheet from a bed, not a tent. a broomstick holding up the sheet so that was the backyard so it was tough but ever since then, i've always had it in my

head you are not a product of your circumstances, just work hard and you strive to be something greater than where you are right now and i truly believe -- i wouldn't change anything if i had to go back, i think all of that at its substance who i am. i coped with a lot of things, that's where i came from, i came from the trenches. >> you were never a victim. how -- got to ask, you know the easy road and you know and like us, the need to be better and improve, you end up in a gang or committing crimes or being angry and violent, your life wasn't welfare. how did you navigate through that? >> it took me a while to learn, man. to be completely honest. that picture is from san francisco obviously, i grew up

in hunter's point in san francisco. growing up in that neighborhood and doing the things you have to do to survive, it was tough. as a kid or young adolescent, you only think that's all you have, that's the culture there, that's what you do to gain respect or clout and you start hanging around wrong crowds and getting around the rose as they call them. i started doing that but as i started to get older, from a young kid, i always wanted more and wanted to be more than my circumstance. >> you did not. >> honestly man, just learning and making mistakes. it allowed me to move calculated as a culture and understand this

is not where i want to be, i'm not going to get where i want to be by being here so i just kept a level head as hard as was much just experiences allowed me to view and take things in and look the other way and say this is not where i want to be. >> how did it feel -- >> just -- >> how does it feel, i want to get the same, one of the coolest things about you is you are a super dad. when you and i were sitting there beat up, store and your daughter, your face timing her and you weren't there for her sleepy time, i got choked up because my kids are older and are too cool for me. when i saw your picture of you and your wife buying your first home, how did that feel? i want to give the last of the time to you, if you could go back and talk to young you, what would you tell him? >> oh man. first off, the home. obviously from what we shared

previously to having my own home with my wife, it was a huge de deal. we are used to signing autographs and stuff like that you would like but to sign on the dotted line, i don't want to get emotional on national television broke. >> do it. [laughter] >> it was a surreal moment for me. to share that with my best friend, it was cool because just like that, you realize everything you've been through in life, everything you wanted to overcome, everything you've pursued in your life, all the sacrifices and hard work, to sign on the dotted line and create a different life for my kids other than what i had, that meant more to me than owning a home. i was able to get a life i never had so to me, that was huge and

we are grateful, we moved in at the end of the month, moving is not fun but it will be. >> i'm retired, i can't do anymore heavy lifting. [laughter] >> hey bro, i love you, man and those tears are good tears. i don't say proud to make tears man, i'm honored and so happy not only you did it where you started from, you did in your hometown, you are a role model. somewhere somebody looks like you and me going through a similar situation who will say i want to be just like that guy because if i was looking at you right now and i was a young man, i want to be like that guy that could not be happier and i'm glad you told your story and give your family my love and enjoy your daddy naptime. >> they are here. >> we can say hi? >> aerial stole the show. interviewed so i hope if he gets second term and that's what he's angling for, he becomes a little more -- less acquiescence and put some stuff in and draws a line and this is what we will do. traditionally the mayor of new york, he can move albany and get things done because he got the media and listens to them. he seems unwilling to engage. courage is quality, the virtue that guarantees all others like to see him get a little courageous. >> you are a mom and a woman, right? >> last time i checked. for now. >> you say that. >> that was presumptuous. >> i apologize. when you hear that, if you ran for office and an opportunity to clean up the city but it costs you are reelection because you piss both sides off, even if i don't elected here? >> i think what we need to do is fun to send adams back to
