that, maybe, judge, he should have answered right off, i think he was so taken aback. it is interesting the oversight these guys want to exercise because i saw jim jordan go down to the border, conducted a hearing there. i want them to give us a tough bill to make the white house uncomfortable, meaning things they don't want to do, whether it is fighting fetanyl, illegal entry of fetanyl and certainly those coming across the border illegally. some of the things they could be doing. i didn't understand the purpose of the hearing. i thought it went on a long, long time. he answered their questions. i think they wanted to get to the hunter biden thing, which is fine. but he answered the questions. i would remind everybody, chris wray is a trump appointee. bill barr was a trump appointee. i remind everybody, m mr. weiss was a trump appointee. it is so political.

harold. the democrats had a choice for united states attorney, a democrat choice, that's a deal that was made. david weiss is a democrat choice, gets a blue slip, is now the u.s. attorney. five years, you don't think joe biden is saying to merrick garland what's going on with my son's case, what's going on with the statute of limitation, what's going on, i hear there are whistle-blowers out there. why is this thing taking years. and he knows his boss is saying my son has done nothing wrong. the concept, the idea that i don't remember talking to the fbi is the excuse everyone used to not get caught in a perjury trap. now, the other thing is he said he made the decision to make david weiss, or didn't make the decision to make david weiss special counsel. even after all of the blowup of that plea deal, that had never been done before in the history of the department of justice,

it is much more than about a cash payment because he doesn't want to give the money. now we are in the middle of a migrant crisis, we can't afford it, the mayor is complaining about it. what we want to do is new york city council wants to assess what to do for reparations. the little plaque that's $10,000, why not put a scarlet letter on it. these are really bad people. why don't people look at history in terms of history, in terms of the time, what was going on at that time, put things in context. maybe they did do good things, all right? going forward, does that mean the same people are willing to say i was wrong in 2023 because i didn't look at it the right way as i look at it in 2063. >> dana: harold, when you think of all the problems that exist in government today and are triaging a situation where the mayor says we have to cut $25 billion in services to the city while trash is not even picked up on the streets right now, is this the highest and best use

of our time and taxpayer dollars? >> harold: no. i listened to the council woman. you think about the challenge we face in public schools, think about the migrant issues that we talk about, you think about the mental health issues we talk about on this show, many in our city of dealing with, you think about the crime. i understand where the council woman is coming from but there are far bigger issues we need to be focused on, i believe. two, our history is complex. it's a beautifully complex story known as america. there are unsavory things and unbelievable things in our past. there are incredible things and incredulous things that happened in america's history. we shouldn't be afraid of any of it. we should want to learn it, understand it, figure out how we don't repeat the same mistakes and how we grow from it. i hope as much as the passion i heard from some that want statues removed, redirect some of that passion. those of you in government. try to figure out how we make sure we don't repeat

cover this all the time, that was the first chance to introduce themselves to gop primary voters and others that were watching. this is where the rubber hits the road. you have a situation where somebody needs a breakout moment. might have someone deciding to be quite aggressive, i don't think that necessarily works in their favor, but their donors, supporters want to see do you have what it takes to be the frontrunner's main rival. this is a very important debate. they run a lot of ads, ads cost a lot of money. the debate, if you made the stage, that's earned media time and your time to shine if you can make it. >> they're all going to try to shine. this is a moment to break out. they're going to be competitive and go at it, i hope. >> jeanine: how do you stop them talking over each other. >> we have ground rules. i'm the school marm. i have been delegated something of a discipline arn. there are rules. you have 60 seconds to answer the question. if you mention another
