aliens and losing population, its governor was desperately trying to change the subject today. >> we're seeing all across america the right to vote is literally under attack. i could not have imagined as a child that i would be standing here as an adult having to say we have to fight to defend the right to vote. in america. it is shocking. >> laura: shocking? well, what is shocking is that anyone would have voted for her in 2022. hochul and the democrats across the country can't run on their abysmal records. we have already shown this on the angle. so they're running on the ludicrous proposition that republicans have r. trying to take away your right to vote. so wanting a secure and accurate vote count is now attacking the right to vote? nice try. now, the truth is, more people are voting than ever before. as we saw in the last presidential election. it was near record turnout, including in new york. the hochul like modern democrats not interested in serving the 2.7 million people who voted for
1:03 am
lee zeldin for governor. she would rather grandstand on phony issues to ensure that democrats remain in power indefinitely. and that brings us to the bills she signed into law today that could actually undermine faith in elections. she is now allowing any registered voter to use an early mail-in ballot. no excuses needed and it's creating something that is called a golden day, which means on the first day of the voting period, you can register and vote on the same day. it even pushes for voter registration to ex-cons as soon as they are released. so, how is ballot verification, signature verification going to be ensured with a process like this with millions of more mail-in ballots flooding in? well, it's anyone's guess. but we know this is a do anything you need to do to win, given more where hochul took her remarks next. >> january 6th is always going to be part of our psyche. when we think about 9/11, it's certain images arise.
1:04 am
i want you to beware that it didn't end on that day. there's a more sinister, slow motion insurrection going on. it's happening quietly in republican controlled state legislatures all across america. >> laura: that want a secure vote. yeah. you can almost smell their panic at this point. and the polls are showing the democrats are losing ground. they can't all be wrong. democrats see biden losing support among almost every demographic group, even suburban women, if can you believe that. so they are freaking out. instead of changing course on policy whether it's on spending or high taxes, crime or education, they are moving to juice the vote. they believe that they deserve to win no matter what, even when, under their watch, americans are getting poorer. and republicans are smartly suing to stop the implementation of new york no excuses mail-in voting law arguing that any changes to absentee voting would

actually require a constitutional amendment. by the way, which is precisely what the democrats tried to do before in 2021. but they failed by a 55-45 vote. but, look, they don't care. they don't care what happened. they don't care if they lost that vote. so talk about disrespecting the democratic process. that's it. but the entire point is this. democrats, they don't care about anything other than winning. they are not going to sand on principle. they need to win. they don't care if it means shredding state constitutions or our federal constitution. just like they don't care if it requires sticking with debilitated people like biden or fetterman or pretending that dianne feinstein can actually do her job. they don't care if their soft on crime and prodrug legalization policies lead to nightmares to urban areas like philadelphia. the only thing they care about is winning. and if joe biden loses pennsylvania, is he probably going to lose the presidency. we all know that. don't forget how the state
1:06 am
democrats did an end run around the law by going to the pennsylvania supreme court to extend their absentee ballot deadline and approve the use of mail-in ballot drop boxes which remember, happened in 2020. then sured that democrats had the greatest chance of winning in that state. well, now they know they are in worse trouble. so they need an insurance policy, which they see in automatic voter registration in pennsylvania. so the state's far left governor, is he a nightmare by the way, headed over to the campaign headquarters, call campaign headquarters, to celebrate. >> you and i have spoken a lot over the last number of years about the attempts by others to erode our institutions, to erode our democracy, to try to make it harder for people to vote. the more engaged our citizenry, the stronger our country, the healthier our democracy and we took a giant leap forward here in the commonwealth today to do just that. >> laura: and, of course, a

[cheers] >> right? that we let everybody know. >> laura: that we have to let everyone know. you know. there are signs though that republicans are waking up to reality here. mail-in voting, look. we all know it's here to stay. the rnc relaunched its bank your vote campaign to get more republicans. in ohio, republicans like j.d. vance know that not getting it done could really end up hurting us. saying if the democrats are getting 100 percent of their voters engaged early and we are
1:22 am
only getting half of ours engaged early there creates pressure on election day vote. as things happen as they invariably will it puts us republicans at a huge disadvantage. is he absolutely right about that. and glenn youngkin, the governor of virginia, has been very smart about this. he is launching a similar early voting effort. and it's desperately needed in the commonwealth. there is a critical state election this fall where every seat in the virginia legislature is up for grabs. well, the fact is republicans across the board. they can't sit around moaning about election changes or even what happened in 2020 as important as it was. they can fight them, but if they lose, they have to adapt, evolve, in order to win. and then they have to get power back. now, i believe we can grow this coalition. i think there are a lot of people in, no, new jersey, my home state of connecticut and oregon and even california who are fed up with the left. look around, how many people like the crime or the -- like the economic problems their

families are having or the unfair justice system and all the rest of the nonsense that left wing politics fist upon us? and if enough of those people join us? that collisi coalition is goinge unstoppable. i don't care how many mail-in ballots they solicit. everything we do now has to be focused on this growing coalition that we have already begun to put together. these are the votes we need because complaining, again, isn't going to work. asking for mercy or even fairness, that's a waste of time. and that's the angle. all right, joining me now is ronna mcdaniel, chairwoman of the republican national committee. ronna, great to see you tonight. take me through this first legally. what exactly can we do to fight back against some of these initiatives that these blue state coalitions are pushing as far as changing the rules? >> yeah, laura, you are spot on. the democrats are trying to change the rules through the courts or through executive order. so with new york we filed within one hour of hochul putting this
1:24 am
in place. we had 20 different plaintiffs. it's bipartisan. we have a democrat city council member, and we are changing the governor because we think what she is doing is unconstitutional. she is trying to change the definition of an absentee vote as it's defined by the new york constitution. but i will also add we have had success in new york. last cycle, they passed a law to allow non-citizens to vote in municipal elections. the rnc sued there. there were 900,000 non-citizens just in new york city and we won at the new york state supreme court. so we feel confident that we have standing. and that we have a good case on the constitutional issues in new york. >> laura: well, the problem is with these state ids, ronna, as i was listening to what kamala harris was saying when you get your state i.d., isn't it true that in a lot of states illegal immigrants can get state ids? >> absolutely. that's part of the pennsylvania situation with what governor shapiro just did.
1:25 am
saying we are going to give ballots to anybody or register anyone who is registered at the dmv. and that's terrible. so we need transparency. he has not outlined what he is going to do yet with non-citizens. we are going to look for litigation there he didn't pass it through the republican legislature there. we are going to be in the courts. we will go on offense in the courts. just to give you an idea. we are in 50 different lawsuits right now on issues just like we are seeing in new york and pennsylvania. >> laura: ronna, what's next? i mean, hochul went so far to say that any concerns about election integrity are conspiracy theorist. watch this. >> it's just ridiculous. >> ballot harvesting. they made up a whole lot of words around. this they weren't problems at all. they made them up. conspiracy theories. distortions of reality because if more people vote, they are more likely to lose. they want to keep it power in the hands of the few.
1:26 am
>> laura: are you a conspiracy conspiracy theorist? >> showing i.d. to vote makes me conspiracy theorist. we should all do. this we want to make it easier to vote and harder to cheat. that's what most americans want. we know we should have voter i.d. and we know we should have chain of custody and we know we shouldn't have drop boxes. now, we will have to deal with the law as they are on the books. we are going to fight these bad laws. it shows how scared the democrats are. in pennsylvania we have outregisterred the democrats every month this year. we have strong senate candidate about to announce against casey in pennsylvania. they are scared and they have a president who is feckless. they see his numbers dropping like a rock. this is their solution. let's change the laws. let's make poor selection. people have to sign up to be poll watchers and bank your vote so we can get you in this process to protect our vote.
1:27 am
>> laura: ronna, on the issue of mail-s in i can't tell you how many people are we on top of this now? are we registering people? are the mail-in ballot applications are actually going to be returned and collected by republican volunteers? are there groups out there that are planning to do this to canvas the country outside church parking lots? if that's legal or nascar if that's -- wherever you go, old folks homes. they are doing it so why don't we do it? >> we are doing it. we won four house seats in california in 2020 in a presidential year. ballot harvesting. we won a new one with 2022 with ballot harvesting. we have to do it. drop boxes at the church. ballot collection. we will do this in all these states. we have to. we do need to vote earlier. we need to change the culture in our party. we have people saying don't vote by mail. don't send your ballot in early. there's a couple things to that like you mentioned earlier, j.d. said things happen on election day but it's also financial issue. if you're holding your ballot that entire 30 day early voting period, it means i'm spending
1:28 am
money chasing your ballot that whole time. >> laura: that's a great point. >> if you vote that first day it free's up money for me to go chase swing voters and independent voters so the earlier you vote, you got trust that we're going to protect it. we'll have the poll watchers and poll workers but we need our money to go further so we can chase those other voters that we need to turn out and not try to get it all in on election day. the football analogy is you don't wait until the fourth quarter to score. we have to score in every quarter of the game. law officer lawyer everyone has to remember what do they bank hundreds of thousands of votes for poor old fetterman in pennsylvania? by the time they got around to trying to get the republican in there, they had already banked all those votes. so it's republicans who have to bank the votes this time. ronna, i'm so glad you are doing this, keep in touch with us on this. thank you so much. late tonight a federal judge ordered hunter biden to appear in person on october 3rd for his arraignment on gun charges not by video as his attorney

to hunter biden? >> oh, absolutely. this is the one charge that doesn't go back to joe biden. you know, the big guy. the big guy wasn't involved in the gun charge. so we will charge him with that. and then, also, some of these tax charges or some of the charges, they slow-walked them. so that the statute of limitations ran out for the period of time where the big guy was involved. so that if you do go into the other charges. you know, he supposedly pled to. they weren't during this period of burisma and joe biden as vice president. so that's another thing they did. they only want to charge him for the things that aren't connected to the big guy. >> laura: wall it off. garland is outraged that anyone would challenge his prosecutors. >> what is dangerous is when anyone singles out a career prosecutor or a career fbi agent and we know as a matter of fact that that kind of singling out has led to threats. this is a concern across the
