to share with you this morning. our boss, rupert murdoch is transitioning from fox corporation. in a note to employees he has decided in november he will move to the role of chairman at fox corp. his son will be the sole chair of both companies. in his note he says for his entire professional life he has been, quote, engaged daily with news and ideas and that will not change. and he says he will still be an active member of the fox community. reaching out with thoughts and ideas and advice as he does every day. he goes on to say, quote, our companies are in robust health, as many i. our opportunities exceed our commercial challenges. we have every reason to be optimistic about the coming years. i certainly am and plan to be here to participate in them. but the battle for the freedom of speech and ultimately the

morning. government sources telling me that yesterday alone cbp encountered more than 10,000 migrants at our southern border. that means we're back to those all-time record high levels we last saw in may in the days leading up to the end of title 42. 10,000 in one day driven by what happened here in eagle pass. new video for the viewers. look at this drone video from our contact in mexico showing the perspective from the mexican side of the river as the mass illegal crossing took place yesterday. over 3,000 people crossed illegally here in eagle pass in a span of two hours predominantly single adults, mostly men from venezuela. there was 0 resistance on the mexican side of the river despite their national guard and police posted there. the small city of eagle pass is overrun and texas governor greg abbott is pointing the finger at the federal government. look at this video he tweeted yesterday showing what he says

are border patrol agents cutting and removing the razor wire that he and the state of texas deployed at the edge of the river. you can see them cutting it. this is what led in part to that mass rush of illegal immigrants coming into eagle pass yesterday. he says they let migrants into the country and that's when this big flow started. he tweeted in part, quote, texas installed razor wire in eagle pass to stop illegal crossings. today the biden administration cut that wire opening the floodgates to illegal immigrants. i immediately deployed more texas national guard to repel illegal crossings and install more razor wire. dhs officials tell fox news they have no comment in response to what the governor tweeted there. one piece of video to show you. the juxtaposition and legal and illegal entry. top of the bridge migrants pennsylvania rolled through the cbp1 up and under illegally. they switched to photos of a major fentanyl bust.

staggering. they're talking about new york city spending $10 billion over the next 12 to 18 months. you had a democratic mayor on the border yesterday call out the white house. do you believe if more democrats along the border mention joe biden by name and did something that he did, something similar, that anything would change? >> i don't see anything changing until we get a new president who takes the border serious. they come down for photo ops in areas of tower 1200 mile border that are secure. have the infrastructure to repel this massive wave of immigrants. they all go down to the del rio sector where you mentioned my family has had property for a couple of decades. they don't go to the del rio sector where human tear and legal and constitutional crisis. tens of thousands of people are coming over every day. nowhere to put them, house them

or feed them eagle pass or del rio. this is a day in the life. i'm telling you, it's going to become a problem for them politically. if you look in south texas in the texas house we picked up three seats in south texas, flipped from democrat to republican. people are fed up down there. they want to play in their backyard without worrying about 5 or 6 migrants running across their property. it is a real crisis. they will pay for it. >> bill: it has to be remarkably frustrated. when you say nothing changes with this administration, that's the reality that should be unacceptable. >> dana: the "new york post" cover shows the chaos and you are called anarchy. that's one of the things that i think is interesting about what you are dealing with on the border, it is starting to happen in other places including new york city. in addition to that you have this lethal fentanyl bust at the border, 110 pounds seized in the rio grande valley.

two milligrams is enough to kill someone. now we talk about 400 milligrams per pound of fentanyl. this country feels like it is under attack and i wonder what you can say about how the number of migrants and this fentanyl has changed things for texas, which might foretell what could happen in other places in the country. >> we're at the front lines here. we're trying to secure 1200 miles of border that the biden administration refuses to pay attention to. they have blood on their hands. they come here to see the border, get the photo ops, go to places that are secure. they don't go to where we're seeing this on the ground in these small communities across south texas. and it's fentanyl, illegal crossings, also human smuggling. there are human beings being smuggled across our border by cartels on a daily basis, it is not difficult to do this. pay attention and the biden

to walk right out the door of the marion county adult correction center. 28-year-old kevin mason was arrested september 11th for a murder in minnesota. two days later clerks on poked the indiana and minnesota sides lifted the orders that mason be held thinking they had duplicate paperwork. he was released. police say he had help from a girlfriend who picked him up. she did shopping at wal-mart for men's essentials and bought a burner cell phone. she is not cooperating and has been arrested. they didn't go public for a tactical advantage following the girlfriend. they believe wherever mason is now he is getting some help. >> our plan is to look throughout the city with this uniform presence and make it uncomfortable for anybody who might be keeping him. if somebody wants to get him out of their house, happy to sit him on the front porch and we'll come by. we won't knock the way we usually do if we come by.

say it with straight face. the policies coming out of this administration have stoked an economy that's questionable, slowing down and a public that is living paycheck to paycheck with sticker shock. people care much more about the fact that mortgage rates are above 7% right now than talking about climate change when they are making decisions in terms of whether or not to buy a house. the reason people have tried to get a mortgage and walked away from it. they do the math and realize their monthly payments are not affordable. they can't buy the home. for her to say that and not even acknowledge the spiking inflation even though it has come way down from the highs and not recognize these are the policies that have taken us here is misleading. >> bill: if you are in your 20s you are used to low interest rates. you don't remember a time when it was 7% or higher. pete buttigieg has put out a

warning about a shut down. >> we estimate there are 3,000 plus more people we need qualified than we have today. even the shutdown lasting a few weeks could set us back by months. we cannot afford that kind of politically driven disruption. >> bill: i don't know if he is right or not. when it comes to government shutdowns we're given warnings the skies will fall. they close the world war ii memorial in washington, d.c. >> it hasn't been that big of a deal. the world isn't coming to an end because of a government shutdown. i don't want to see it. we want work to continue and everybody to get paid and most people will still get paid but the stock market in the past has rallied. so go figure that out. it's interesting to hear pete buttigieg say we can't afford something when the democrats have borrowed $6 trillion over the last 2 1/2 years. we have a budget that calls for

discretionary spending at 1.6 trillion. they spent six. he was mia during the last rail strike. i haven't seen a lot of him during the strike for the automakers. another issue to look at as a result of bad policy. the automakers, employees of the united auto workers may be sticking their necks out too much. 49% raise they want? one of the issues they are talking about is the cost of living. they need more money because of the cost of living. this green agenda and this focus on spending money on green vehicles and electric vehicles, it doesn't seem to match up with the actual demand out there. it actually has massive ripple effects across the economy. >> dana: it is happening in europe, too. interesting phenomenon starting to happen here. the prime minister of the u.k. is likely to say we'll slow our roll on these green energy electric vehicle piece. >> it has forced the federal reserve to raise interest rates.

little bit he comes back and hits him with a hammer, all right? it's a miracle the guy survived. 68-year-old old. his kids want him to retire but he loves the store he built. the store got looted during the lbm riots. robbed multiple times but he wants to stay in the neighborhood. his american dream he has to deal with this. it goes to trial. second day the jury hangs. somebody in that jury pool was saying i am simply not going to convict and i'm indifferent to the evidence. what was the evidence? they found him with the jewelry. less than a week later he is wearing some of the jewelry. he has the jewelry partitioned up into little baggies to sell in the neighborhood. he tries to pawn it. the pawnshop gives him up and how they get him. the bike he rode away from the side is his video. they have the bike, it matches. he is wearing a mask during the

event. the cops are saying his walk matches. not a small thing. these days there is a technology called forensic gate technology to analyze your walk and your physical gait and that's good evidence. i don't know if they use the technology. the walk matches. this should have been open and shut. a hung jury. god knows how. when it happened, the democrats were gearing up their crime bill. no comment from our president who is from delaware as this happened as we went into that. still no comment. delaware says they will retry him. they better slam dunk this thing. this is an eawful case. >> dana: it was a good thing we had the video with the crime and that's evidence to a prosecutor can prove something beyond a reasonable doubt. in our system you could have a jury where you have someone say they are not going to do it and

that doesn't engender trust in the system. >> it doesn't. we talked about a lot of cases on this show. i've talked about the idaho case where i said you never know what a jury is going to do. people say there will never be a plea. the reason prosecutors take a plea is because of cases like this. you don't know. all you need is one and in this case they got at least the one and you see the result. >> bill: let me get to the story in new york. alvin] downgraded more than half of the felony cases a year ago. year-to-date down 54%. you see the track record for him now. show this video. this homeless man was beaten with a baseball bat and the perp was let go. in part because they could not find the homeless man. all right. so they cut this guy a deal, did not put him behind bars, and now he is walking free. >> this thing was not well done from the get go in my opinion.

first of all they charged assault two. i would have charged attempted murder. assault two is a felony but second tier assault. should have at least assault one. you intend serious injury and cause it. i would have charged attempted murder. their excuse they can't find the perp now so we'll let this guy. the baseball bat guy here, he got group therapy. >> dana: oh my word. >> that's what he has been sentenced through. he has gotten group therapy they say because they couldn't find the victim. you have all the paperwork, you have the video, okay? it's better with the victim if you go to trial. but you have the proof that you need not only that the judge shouldn't have accepted it. within the purview of the judge to say this guy has to go to trial and jail. here is the other thing. they say they can't find him. we looked in the shelters and neighborhood and hospital. did they look in the morgue, all

any thought of a pastor on saturday night saying give me something real quick. you are out of luck. i had to continue to give it additional prompts for each part to fill out the service. >> bill: okay. the folks that were there, did it move them? i'm not quite sure what the question is here. were they inspired? >> right. that's a great question. that's the question we were going for. in part we come into that service thinking god has this sunday off, the spirit is not present because we're using artificial intelligence. part of the invitation or challenge was can we find the sacred and even be inspired within a time such as this? and to my surprise, several did say there was something about a particular prayer that inspired them or they were able to worship. and so really the whole goal, bill, was that how can we take that attitude and bring it out
