ingraham this is "the ingraham angle" from washington tonight. thanks for being with us. lawless, that's the focus of tonight's angle. >> when lawlessness goes unchecked, really bad things happen. under biden we see this play out coast to coast because criminals know it's a safe bet they are going to commit crimes and get away with it. seeing an epidemic of retail thefts. brazen attacks in broad daylight and then we see zombies doing and selling drugs right out in the open now migrants are all over the world storming into america and overwhelming our already overwhelmed border patrol. they come as biden's dhs is encouraging them to come. and by the way the encouragement doesn't have to be explicit it's implicit thousands processed in quickly and then quickly released into the streets and
4:02 pm
the biden magnet got stronger today. is he granting 470,000 venezuelan migrants temporary protected status which allows them to get work permits what's that going to lead to a further explosion of people coming. in tonight in morocco, pakistan and chile, it will be sold as biden giving away free work permits. all you got to do is get there. so for $7,000 u.s. we can help you get your dreams come true, all of it that's what we need more crowding of our schools and more downward pressure on wages, thanks, joe. why did the venezuelaens get this temporary protected status and not others? that's what new york liberals are demanding a that's why. >> the top of my list is
4:03 pm
temporary protected status for venezuelans. yes, we spoke about it yesterday. the president tipped me off and said we have been heard. he understands problem is only going to get worse. city budgets and school overcrowding. today i promise today it's venezuelans and tomorrow it's two other countries and so on and so on. >> we must make sure that we extend temporary protective status for venezuelan, nicaragua el salvador. south sudan, cameroon and other nations. >> i think it's sudanese. now, biden's puppet masters need to keep those leftists in new york on board. doesn't want to hear them complaining too much about the border this is how they are going to do it. i have a question tonight. when do americans get temporary
4:04 pm
protected status? and how is any of this legal? remember, none of this is happening by accident. certainly not happening by mistake. this is the administration's policy the goal is a slow transformation of america. now, to accomplish its goal, the dhs has flown more than 200,000 illegal aliens directly into 43 cities. now, i personally witnessed this in january at the denver international airport. it was unreal watching this play out: now, democrats defend the situation, of course, by just deflecting by saying look our immigration system is broken: we have to fix the system. no, that's a lie. it was essentially fixed by donald trump. that was one of the many reasons the left hated him. because liberals despise a tightly controlled border. they believe in globalism and hate populism or any kind of economic nationalism unless
4:05 pm
china is apowzing it. they hate america too. they hate america so much, our tradition, our history, our culture, that they prefer to start over with millions of poor migrants who have zero understanding of our founding or an appreciation of the american rule of law. unlike during the great migration last century, migrant children today will not be taught an informed patriotism at school. instead, they will learn to hate the old america as shameful and racist. and we all know where that's going to lead. so it's playing out on our border and beyond is far more important than hunter biden and the money trail as important as that is. and it's far more dangerous to our security than russia's invasion of ukraine, more on that next segment. because an open border plus a massive welfare state, plus no risk of deportation is a recipe not just for discontent, despair
4:06 pm
and disunity but an end to our country as we know it. the biden team is looking more like a criminal enterprise to me every day. it's lawlessness as far as the eye can see. they know their policies are turning cartels into billion dollars enterprises. they know they're sending criminals into our communities. they know they're compromising our safety and our financial stability. so, if this isn't a conspiracy to undermine u.s. sovereignty, then i don't know what is. and that's the angle. joining me now is stephen miller, former senior adviser to president trump and founder of america first legal. also with me is lieutenant chris olivares who is a texas department public safety spokesman. steven, let's start with you. on the point of these venezuelans, almost a half million getting temporary protected status, first of all, what is that? is it really temporary and is this legal? >> no, no, and no. it's not temporary.
4:07 pm
it's not legal, and it's not justified by any of the circumstances happening today. temporary protective status is for, for example, let's say you have illegal alien from a country that is in the middle of an active volcano. you can't deport them that week to that country. you might give them temporary protected status is a form of amnesty. it gives you legal presence. it gives you a work permit. and because of the way our country works. it will be renewed indefinitely it. will be a lifelong forever amnesty and democrats will agitate to give everybody who had protected status full citizenship and voting rights and chain migration in the united states. the message not just to venezuela by giving illegal aliens from there amnesty but the message to the whole entirely developing world is come to america, joe biden will not only escort you into the country, into the city of your choice, but joe biden will give you lifetime residency in this country. the purpose of this initiative is to accelerate the already record breaking illegal immigration into this country.
4:08 pm
>> chris, now we have been showing video of illegals crawling under the barb wire at our border to get in. it's pretty easy to do that. you said that you caught customs and border patrol agents cutting the wire themselves. apparently to facilitate the crossings into our country? what's the story there? >> you know, laura, this is something that we have seen with border patrol. >> laura: we're showing it right now. >> border patrol agents cutting the concertina wire that we have placed as a state as a deterrent to try to prevent illegal border crossings. this is not the fault of the border patrol agents. the field agents are doing tremendous work under just challenging circumstances but they are getting orders from the administration to do this. and it puts these agents in a predicament now where they are being forced by the administration to go against what they completely signed up for, and that is to protect our borders and to focus on criminal activity. not to cut c concertina wire and allow mass illegal immigration into our state. especially in texas. that's what we are seeing play

out. it puts these agents in a predicament and situations where they shouldn't be and it all falls on poor leadership. that's why we need strong leadership. we saw that in 2021. we did not experience now at the border. we have thousands coming across. you have criminals coming across, suspected terrorists, cartel gunmen coming across our borders unimpeded. the border was secured prior to 2021. it's in complete disarray right now. and we need strong leadership back so we can take our border back and secure it. >> laura: people have to really wrap their minds around this temporary protected status decision by president biden. because that's a half million people. and people around the world hear this and they -- it's sold relentlessly on instagram and facebook and other forms of social media that there are free work permits. steven, i know you have seen the posting, so have i. free work permits just get here and you will be taken care of. this is going to be a crush of

this. this is a slow-moving, purposeful encouraged invasion of the country happening. that's what's happening. and can say that's not what is happening or its rude. what else do you call it? that's what it is. people are being told to come, essentially. so that's what is happening. do those buoys do much. >> well, laura they have. keep in mind it's only 1,000 feet that we have in the river. every single person that you see coming across in that footage there and drownings that have been taking place have been taking place far away from the barrier. earlier on that's we're would see the majority of the immigrants crossing. we have been able to shut down that area. there is a legal battle against governor abbott and the state of texas what we are trying to do. another challenge we have to face is not only going after criminal organizations and trying to deter illegal immigration we have are now having to go against our own government trying to stop us to put some type of deterrent measure in place to prevent unauthorized border crossings. >> laura: we have got to go.
