>> ainsley: lawrence, what do you think about this? because you have a dog -- how would you describe your dog? >> lawrence: she a working dog. they have no control of the dog. mine is a belgium but i trained german shepherds as well. if my dog would have bit someone one time it probably would have gotten down. because this is the president's dog: it's not a bad dog. it's a bad handler. >> steve: or training. >> lawrence: it's clear that the president as well as jill biden haven't been working with the dog and there hasn't been one person. the secret service, they have k-9s as well they know how to work with dogs. the problem is these dogs have not been trained. >> brian: number one there is no budget to get this dog a trainer. number two the dog doesn't belong there number three the head of the secret service has to step up and say to the white house. i'm not putting my men and women in trouble this is not a joke and by the way i have had four german shepherds.

and if you make a mistake for example and let your friend go in the house first, they will attack. >> lawrence: that's right. >> brian: i had this great german shepherd one time my friend went into the house before me and got bitten at the arm. the first thing they say at the emergency room do you want the dog put down. how in the hell do you bite a human being 11 times and not adjust that? i know he is president. but you have to make a move here. you have had about a dozen dogs i imagine in your life. >> ainsley: can you train the biting out of the dog? >> lawrence: can you train it out. the problem is they have let major have a bite. once the dog gets that taste of blood and the way it's been done, it changes the dog. so, honestly, i hate to say, this it's too late. it's too late with this dog. >> brian: the secret service you got to get them out of there. >> lawrence: get him out of the white house. this dog doesn't belong. they need to stop just replacing the dog. it's not a dog -- stop getting new dogs. it's not going to solve the problem. if the dogs haven't been trained, you're just going to continue to have the same issue.

banned sanctuary cities in the state of texas. so what's exactly going on? i know there is a special session that's going to be going on and this will be an item on that special session. >> absolutely. first, importantly, so, all texans and americans know, i signed a law sb 4 that bans sanctuary cities in the state of texas. we are looking for the application of that law to what's going on in colony ridge. we are taking this very serious and what we have done to make sure that we have law and order in that area, deployed the texas department of public safety to patrol the region. texas department of public safety has special agents that are undertaking investigations about what is going on there. we deployed the texas commission on environmental quality to make sure that whatever is going on there is not posing any type of environmental problem. and the st state of texas issued subpoenas to the company that is in charge of all of this, to find out the financial background. find out exactly what is going on. then as you pointed out in two weeks, we are having a special session begin where the issue of colony ridge is going to be on

target on her back and i'm excited to see her show how she handles herself under that pressure. she is going to, again, show up and really get her base excited and draw in some more momentum. >> steve: sure, nicole, why do you think she won the first time? >> because she spoke the truth. she wasn't afraid to take on the tough issues, and she didn't back down. and i think she really showed that she has experience and that she has the candor to stand in front of a crowd and really take on the tough issues. >> steve: sure, now, kristin, you identify as an independent voter, so what -- you watched the first debate. you are going to be watching tonight. donald trump is not going to be there. you know, and some voters are disappointed. they would like to see him in action. he has done great. he is the frontrunner. are you disappointed that he is not there? >> thank you so much for having me. >> steve: thank you. >> i don't think i would say i'm disappointed nor surprised that he's not there, being that he is

the frontrunner and he does have a lot of things going on in his life, that we have seen play out on tv. but he is letting the other people get their words in and letting the american people see what the rest of the field has to offer and what they have to say about the issues in america. so he is just taking it light. but i'm pretty sure we will see him soon. >> steve: sure. nicole, you know, for this second debate, at least one candidate did not make it. and for the third debate the requirements are even more stringent. you know, if a couple of weeks after this debate and a candidate is still polling in low single digits, is it time for them to say -- especially with the third quarter fundraising deadlines coming up, with s. it time for some candidates to say you know what? i gave it my all. i should probably suck in my bats and go home? >> you know, that's a really tough question to answer. and i will leave that to the experts, but i certainly hope that we start to see some more

unity and the more momentum around one particular candidate because i think that's what we need if we want to beat biden. >> steve: okay. and kristin, how about you? given the fact that the field is seven tonight. we don't know how many for the third one, if people are not gaining traction, is it time to say, you know what? i gave it the old team spirit but it just didn't work out? >> personally, i do think so. i'm not one to say, you know, you should quit. but, i think it's time to be realistic and, like, the other panel has said, we need a little bit more unity and it's seeming like there is not any at all and it's just a bunch of bickering and arguing and being that those candidates that are low in the polls should unite and support those that are the frontrunners and just create more unity within the party and just realize that it might not be their time and maybe their time
