♪ >> hello everyone i am joey jones, lisa boothe, lauren simonetti, griff jenkins and welcome to "the big weekend show". the big story tonight, the fox news alert, entering day three of the work on hamas. israeli defense forces with military operations on hamas militants following the terrorist group surprise attack on israel. the nation calling yesterday's events it's very on 9/11. 700 israel these are dead and countless more injured and the united states national security council confirming moments ago that several u.s. citizens are among the dead. hamas also taking hostages, some of whom attended a music festival in gaza. here now fox news corresponded trey yingst, live on the ground in southern israel. give us an update. >> good evening. tonight as we speak hamas militants are still in the southern part of israel engaging

soldiers and gun battles. this is been a difficult 48 hours for the country because they are facing attacks from palestinian factions including hamas and islamic jihad not just from the ground but the air. thousands of rockets fired into central and southern israel and tonight we are learning that iran helped hamas to cordate this attack. i want to show you what the scene was like with the border communities were hamas fighters on saturday entered and slaughtered civilians. take a look. >> here in the town of sderot you can see the pickup truck used by hamas fighters to appletree into southern israel. in the back, the gear that they brought with them you can see the closer they were wearing at the time. these militants, massacred many civilians in sderot, some were taken hostage in our prisoners of war inside of the gaza strip. hamas fighters were back in the

exact town tonight engaging the israelis in a firefight. we are getting new video of israeli border police firing on militants that kidnapped in israeli family on saturday morning. the video showing the border police and if soldiers running into a field firing on the militants in rescuing the fa family. a piece of good news amid the backdrop of the horrific, horrific story. tonight we know the israelis continue strikes against hamas in the northern eastern part of gaza. they have warned all civilians in the area to move to the un schools deeper in the gaza strip. we expect a massive excavation in the coming days as thousands of a israeli soldiers with tanks at apcs are now along the gaza border. joey: i'm going to send it over to lisa she has a question. lisa: lisa boothe here, you mentioned iran orchestrated the terror attacks. they met with four different
4:04 pm
iran bacterial groups, hamas including hezbollah, what does that tell you about concerns that this could turn into a broader regional work? >> it is a massive concern not just for the israelis but the allies including americans. as part of the reason that we learned that the united states will send an aircraft carrier and fighter jets closer to israel and why you see so many israeli allies coming out with some much support with what's about to take place. it's good to be a violent and messy few weeks here on the gaza border. the fact that iran was involved in the planning and execution of this by telling these fighters how to get through israeli defenses and how to ultimately target the civilians and soldiers killing more than 700 people in taking back as prisoners as war, dozens. it means israel could respond directly against iran. there are other friends that could open up. hezbollah, the lebanese militant group backed by iran is really
4:05 pm
the major concern. they don't just have homemade rockets like the gazans do. the precision guided missiles that have been smuggled into beirut and taken to the border. there are thousands of rocket and missile in southern lebanon and then pointed to israel. lilauren: lauren simonetti here. the surprise factor that took both israeli and u.s. intelligence by surprise, anymore on that? i know it is or the enders would be investigations into how everybody missed that. in israel, what is the feeling that the fact that the government missed this? >> this was clearly a massive intelligence failure. we have reported inside gaza and the gaza border in southern israel for years. israel for a very long time touted this wall as one of the most advanced in the world. we went was soldiers as they
4:06 pm
showed us the sensors they had dug underground to assure if any tunnels were being dug along the border. they also prepared surveillance balloons and drones overhead to watch for the possibility of infiltration but hamas says they broke to the border at 50 different locations and claiming tonight, we cannot independently claim this number but they sent in 1000 fighters. when it attack on this scale is truly unprecedented, we could talk about the brutality of the attack. this is not just a shooting attack against soldiers as we have seen often in the west bank when we embedded with israeli forces as they conduct their operations there. this was a massacre, this was slaughtering women and children, killing innocent people who slept in their homes. the videos that we have seen online look like they came out of the absolving state published by isis. it will change in perception of the gazans and palestinian people for a very, very long
4:07 pm
time. not everyone inside of gaza supports hamas but there's an ideology among the militants and the people who support these efforts in the slaughter of israeli civilians. that's what israel is up against. it'll be a very, very difficult battle in the coming days and weeks, when they go in on the ground as expected, they will not be able to send takes and apcs and ground troops in. griff: tray, it is chris, i want to go back to what you were saying about sderot having engagement with hamas militants and idf forces. right now sderot is one of the larger towns near gaza. in the immediate triage task for the idf was to get those areas that were seized and were trying to hold it. as you mentioned, there are a thousand fighters going to 15 breach point on the fence. what are we looking at? do we have an idea if the idea
4:08 pm
perceives as comedy fighters are still resisting? >> we know there are fighters at different communities at the border. shocking there still fighting in sderot. when we were inside the town today, there were dozens of police officers on corners and soldiers that had jeeps. basically, a population that had largely left the town in the military had entered. and the fact that they are still fighting there is certainly surprising. griff: stay safe. great reporting. we will check in with you as it warrants. joey: he is fearless and is reporting. we want him to stay safe. i want to give you a deeper look at what has happened so far. as we look at the touchscreen, hamas attacks israel. this is how it began.
4:09 pm
we want to point out, if you look at the hollow circles in the rockets iranians. coming from the gaza strip which is a small portion in red, if you look at rockets being fired to tel aviv and jerusalem, these are not makeshift rockets, we had experts earlier today talking about how most of the time the rockets are refitted, they're not necessarily advanced technology. in this specific attack, these are potentially guided missiles of some sort, guided artillery and make it all the way into the capital of tel aviv. if you look at the red dots these are cities that were infiltrated by ground troops, vacated several miles into israel. we will show you another screen that zooms in a little bit more. this shows you the ground attacks. the reason i want to point this out, the basis that were overrun or at least attacked well into israeli territory. we talked about sderot and these other places. we had basically idf spokesperson talk about how these are places where the hostage situations were going
4:10 pm
on. real quick, down in the area, going to try to get this right, the desert where the music festival was happening. in this area 260 bodies found, more than you believe to be 100 hostages. what is important about the music festival we learned there is a german citizen that has been infamously put on social media that we believe is dead, there are people from around the world that were at this festival that may have been taken hostage and a couple other countries into this. but most in country and reportedly they are all civilians. the music festival was for peace. the next slide real quick. here we go the big aaron national airport. this is believed to be the target, trey was tweeting about this a few minutes ago. i think what i want to point out, hamas is not done attacking. this war is waiting.
4:11 pm
griff: just to pick up on that. i was talking to trey he gave us shocking news in his report which was in sderot the largest city there the top northeast corner of the west bank area, they went ten, you know this as somebody on the battlefield, the first order of business is to get operational control. in the idf, obviously was caught off guard. we are about to go 4:00 a.m., 48 hours on and clearly the most skilled technologically advanced military in that neighborhood if you will in the middle east unable to get these militants under control which ashtray was reporting breached defense along the east side of the gaza strip. 15 places in a thousand

fighters. it is quite stunning that ivf doesn't have the under control. >> talk about the landmass, seal small compared to the west bank that is where there are a lot of settlements, a lot of politics but you also lebanon. most of the attacks of the gaza strip gaza city be in the home of thomas. we have all of this in the west bank and what's happening in lebanon, that is a concern about what is about to start up. are they going to attack the settlements and the west bank were israeli citizens are. will there be an attack from lebanon. the concern, do you get squeezed from all sides thanks to impart efforts by iran, lebanon, hezbollah. the idea that the militants from hamas came and went back. that's not what were seeing it that is a concern. lauren: i was reading an analyst with the brookings institution. he is warning of other countries

get involved, their citizens have been held hostage and were killed, unfortunately that this is a huge war. he's talking about a. victory for hamas. that is not even worth it because of all of the damage and pain that they will see because of this. joey: we have a lot of questions, a lot of questions get implicated to us, we have a native ally in turkey this is u.s. stay out. we will support our palestinian were untrue brothers. that's a problem. the report from the wall street journal that seems credible that adrienne are the ones that work astray did this. they may be the ones that bring in as below. we don't want to stoke fears here but we want american people to understand that this could be larger than israel and that is a concern. lisa: real quick, speaking of gaza. we know hamas has taken hostages and they told us they put them in tunnels and secure locations. how does that cop became israel's response? joey: going into gaza would be a bloodbath on both sides. urban warfare is the most deadly and gaza's 45 in every way you can think of.

zeldin joins us live. congressman lutz forget the $6 billion. why is this administration coddling and supporting iran world largest state of terrorism. >> there is no good reason for it. you should not be coddling the state sponsor of terrorism. who calls the united states the little satan and they chant death to america, they develop the intercontinental ballistic missiles, intercontinental, that's not bad for israel that is meant for us. while dealing with iran's nuclear activity which is long big part of the conversation within the united states and internationally. we also have to look at irans other bad behavior inside of the region. overthrowing foreign governments, sponsoring terror. hamas is an iranian proxy. there is no way hamas carries out these attacks without support from iran and a blessing from iran.

if anyone really wants to be skeptical in this position i would say go to iran supreme leader twitter account. in his own words and posting this is something that they are actively involved in in encouraging with this operation. and this is very naïve. to answer your question no good reason at all to do it. if you want to protect american interests at home and abroad. joey: i want to get your take, users in congress and you understand the dynamics. none of this is ever from politics, presidential candidates critiquing this administration. obviously you have your thoughts read we don't have the speaker of the house right now. much of this lands into the administration's purview of what to react. are we limited, develop should debilitated or avoidable spot not to have leadership in the house or will this mainly go to the of initiation? >> i think the united states republicans and democrats in congress, the white house, and

almost total unanimity putting the squad aside for the moment. almost total unanimity, they are talking with one strong united voice that the united states has israel's back. i was a member of congress for eight years, all members of congress are able to receive top-secret briefings. the idea because there is a speaker of the house that you cannot bring all 435 members together for a top secret briefing is totally bunk. as far as the house goes for all sorts of different reasons. it would be fantastic over the course of the next 48 hours, 72 hours on the timeline that is set out it would be great that we end up with the speaker of the house and hopefully by this time tonight or three nights from now that is done. lauren: congressman zeldin, lauren simonetti. i hope we can get her act together in congress. do you think the squad if you

will, will put handcuffs on president biden to right now says latitude for israel to respond as they need to? but will there be freedom of action for israel to respond against hamas and iran if they need to. or is he going to handcuff them by condemning the violence? >> i think it is important for the entire democratic party for president biden and the white house and everyone else in congress to clearly and unequivocally be slapping down the rhetoric that is coming from people like rashida tlaib who a few hours ago put out a statement, no reference of ha hamas, no criticism of hamas engaging in rapes, kidnapping or executions. there should be no moral equivalency done and we can be an honest broker in order to be a neutral arbiter and calling balls and strikes fairly. the democratic party should no this for their own domestic politics or most important they just on the merit of the issues

president biden stood at the white house and said israel has a right to respond to defend itself. you get i wish somebody would stand up and say no u.s. congress member has the right to stand with designated terrorist that want the end of destruction of the united states of america to be allowed to be in congress. , what do you say lauren. lauren: i agree with you and here they are. they are talking about a cease-fire and if we are supposed to tolerate murder, terrorism and everything that just happened of the past two days. cease-fire right now as israel should respond. there they are they are a squad in their handcuffing the president because they are pushing them into his policies whether it is on a new deal in climate or speaking of the great new deal did you guys look at the stock market, futures are way down. the price of oil is up 3%.

unequivocally condemned the attack. as if anyone partially condemns of rape, slaughter and hostages taken of women and children. the loss of life. we urge all sides to refrain from violence and tele-tory attacks they solve nothing. they took that message down, the tweak down very quickly and replaced it. does it give you a little window a little insight to their mindset when they see something, so despicable and horrid and that's where the reasoning goes. joey: people all around the world blamed us for the taliban's emergence because of our involvement in afghanistan. could you imagine israel putting out a statement saying we condemn violence we don't want anyone to retaliate after 9/11 for the poor people of afghanistan. don't retaliate. could you imagine if the world

they are answering questions about this intelligence failure on basically the most surveilled part of the world by saying they are not ready to talk about what might've gone wrong. they are saying the united states did not get a heads up about a possible hamas attack from a third country. so they want that and any thought that that might be possible to go away as soon as possible. there was a big mistake in intelligence failure, somewhere along the line. they will certainly be an accounting but the white house officials are not ready to go there yet. griff: hopefully they come up with answers tomorrow. right now were getting a lot of information from the wall street journal. lisa: you look at the white house, the amount of time they've spent defending the $6 billion, the unfreezing of the money. what does that tell you about the white house political vulnerability on the issue?
4:44 pm
>> the $6 billion is what people remember from the transaction. as time goes on it is not $6 billion for american hostages, people just remember the $6 billion, that's the way the things shake out. like tony blinken was saying in an account and it hasn't been used yet, that is not the criticism coming from republicans on capitol hill presidential candidates. there criticism is the $6 billion since iranian bookkeepers no they can spend on humanitarian goods that it could've freed up money elsewhere to fund terror attacks. nobody from the secretary of state going on the sunday shows as denying that iran is a state sponsor of terrorist attacks. they are being very clear and narrow with the explanation that that $6 billion did not pay for

israel is not just fighting a war against hamas there fighting a propaganda war, that's with the good to be up against. you heard what people were saying on msnbc and to joey's point the more that we move on we will see the propaganda from the media going against israel as well. i'm actually tired of hearing this administration has unwavering support for israel. if you look at it they tasked a man robert maui being investigated by the fbi of classified information who has reportedly involved in aspiring for the iranians and biden tasked him to oversee renegotiations of the 2015 iran deal. it's hard to imagine that there that supported of israel when you task someone like that to oversee the iranian deal with the largest state sponsor of terrorism who is also hamas sponsor of terrorism as well. >> that's an important point and

we are seeing all day long about the specific unfrozen 6 billion and they can prove not a penny and that account went to it. but the reason why hamas is designated by the u.s.a. terrorist organization is because we know irene and funds hamas and hezbollah. in the larger scheme of things, let me play you nikki haley slammed secretary blinken for this very thing earlier today. taken listen. >> i think it was irresponsible for secretary blinken to say the $6 billion does not weigh in. hamas and iran know their moving money around as we speak because they know 6 billion is going to be released. if you think they're not moving money around is a responsible and to say that to the american people. their moving money around to threaten those that they hate. they hate israel and they hate america. they will continue to use this

it was wrong to waive sanctions on iran that gave them more money. money has been flowing to iran and that is the problem. joey: is not the $6 billion being used of the operation by hamas. it's a posture of our administration towards iran and the presumptive freedom to act as they will. what nikki haley is saying, she is trying to be president of the united states but if we look at the actual situation with the administration that we have what we let them speak for themselves. as we know biden is the last one to speak. this is john kirby and what he said the administration will do something happened three weeks ago. >> if in fact they decide to increase their support for terrorist activities or increase their maritime attacks in the gulf we will be ready to counter that and hold them accountable we will be ready to deter the activity.

joey: it doesn't matter if they use the 6 billion in this attack if iran was orchestrating this attack according to john kirby, we need to retaliate. lisa: anthony blinken also said they always spend their money on terrorism. why would we support them in the first place, why freeze the money in the first place, who cares if it's been spent, why renegotiate the iranian deal with the largest state sponsor of terrorism. it's dumb policy and evil. lauren: it is more than the $6 billion. it is the fact that were not enforcing sanctions. as a whole policy of appeasement. it is the u.s. being weak on the world stage and we don't fill that position of power, bad people, and and fill it for us. that's what's happening in the middle east and other parts of the world. joey: the $6 billion was released to get hostages back. there are hostages and hamas has hostages so what are they going to do. lauren: including americans. griff: there are two equation
