and testing was done in guam for rockets launched from china as that threat could happen in the future. the technology has been proven to work. it is a very important defense mechanism for israel this morning and during this war and bodes question, are we relying too much on technology to protect our borders? whether israel or the united states, is too much technology, are we walking away and not keeping our eyes on it? we continue to look at that question. >> carley: what about the activist hackers taking advantage of the situation? >> silent and disruptive force turning to technology to turn into chaos, disruption, hacking
5:01 am
websites and social media to overload targets, confuse the enemy, spread malware, pile on junk traffic to create an information traffic jam. some groups claim they have attacked data to slow down the internet for both sides. one group in support of hamas claimed they hacked israeli alert system red alert. 60 websites have experienced overwhelming attacks. >> carley: thank you for coming on. third hour of "fox and friends" starts now.
5:02 am
>> steve: this has been going on for days. fox news alert, live look at gaza city. it is 3:00 in the afternoon and shelling hamas targets in a massive counter attack. gaza only power plant should the down after running out of fuel. there is a blockade of food, fuel and water. >> ainsley: look at gaza city, buildings have been blasted. a cross-border attack and the jewish state appears to be in a two-front war. >> brian: 1200 have been murdered and it is anticipated the number will grow. >> lawrence: at home, we are
5:03 am
without a speaker of the house. i'm in washington where republicans are set to vote for their nominee who will face a full vote on the floor for speaker. >> ainsley: exactly right, 10:00 this morning. >> steve: two hours. >> ainsley: it is steve scalise and jim jordan. >> brian: and -- too. >> ainsley: trey yingst has the latest. trey. >> trey: we are at israeli artillery position with south upper israel. following the massacre on saturday morning that left 1200 israeli civilians and soldiers dead at the hand of hamas.
5:04 am
i will bring in the spokesman for the military. richard, thank you for joining us. the situation in the south, difficult weekend for your forces, where do things stand? it appears israelis will enter gaza. >> before i talk about gaza. you are here to see what happens. yesterday i entered kfar aza with journalists and it was worse than isis carnage. bodies and decapitated people, horrific. we are striking gaza from the air and all future options are on the table. we are focusing on gaza and it is a very severe strike right now in order to take out their capabilities. >> in kfar aza, we understand there were mutilated bodies and
5:05 am
decapitated women and children, is that accurate? >> yes. we spoke to soldiers, it wasn't me speaking as a spokesperson para troopers told the story. i am recovering, i get emotional thinking about it. >> trey: what do we know about the operations in the north and forces? >> we are already in the north right now, there was an exchange this morning. who shot the shot, we don't know. the important fact, iran is over it all, the presence is dramatic we are hopeful for. that will create a level of them thinking and i'm quoting general coril la, making sure no other
5:06 am
partieses come into this. >> trey: talk about american support, is there anything you need from the americans in the war that erupted? >> what we need is what the president said last night, that went to our heart and souls. it is capabilities. the battle group that came into the eastern area and capabilities americans are sending with planes landing in israel. >> trey: richard, thank you, richard hecht, with the idf. troops are preparing for a multi-front conflict and as attacks continue, we expect this areap reina to expand.
5:07 am
>> brian: killing off the hamas military wing. the guy they say is in charge is muhammad def, they say he scripted this whole thing out. is his presence thought to be in gaza? >> trey: we have asked people about that many times when we reported in the gaza strip. there are rumors if he was killed in other operations in the past. last night israeli air strike took out the house of his brother, killing his brother and other family members. there is effort by israeli forces, they are shelling gaza nonstop. air strikes continue and there is effort by israelis to have a true shock awe campaign to let
5:08 am
people there know what is to come. israelis will enter gaza. it is not a matter of if, but when. when they do there number one target is muhammad def and hamas. >> ainsley: israel said we're going to fight back. if you are there, go to egypt immediately, they sent text messages and said, if you stay, you die. did a lot of people get out, did most civilians, children and moms leave? >> trey: yes, i spoke with a source inside gaza that indicated thousands heeded the warning and went to the center part of gaza to un school. in gaza the death toll is 1000 people, including women and
5:09 am
children and we expect that number to rise. israelis are warning people about leaving the area on the strip. i spoke yesterday with a hamas official and asked about the massacre of civilians. he did not comment on that whatsoever and would not answer questions about the slaughter in israel. he said palestinian people will not be displaced from their land. from humanitarian standpoint, best thing that could happen is leave the area first that israelis will enter. if they can, through egypt, through the rafa135iz crossing if it does open for evacuation of civilians. >> steve: trey, stay safe, we'll be back again shortly with an update from the front line.
5:10 am
so many innocent people have been slaughtered. a spoke to a woman in the united states, her mother's cousin, canart, was taken hostage and was filmed with her hands tied behind her back in hamas. in a subsequent video, her mother's cousin was dead. we talked to her about that and family members, as well. that woman's son and his wife and daughter were then taken by hamas. thankfully two of them got away, one is missing. here she is talking about her mother's cousin who essentially a hostage and then executed on the streets of israel. >> they were all there celebrating the holiday. she said she was safe. and then we started seeing video
5:11 am
from the terrorists that she had been taken and i saw the video online and i had to tell my family and israel that i had seen her laying on the ground lifeless. we still haven't recovered her body yet. hamas told us what they are doing. calling it war crimes is charitable, this is jihad, there are no rules in jihad. they are taking children, women, back to gaza to use as human shields. it is appalling and the world has to step up. >> steve: she has one family member still missing. >> ainsley: that is her mom's cousin in the red shirt? >> steve: right. there she is alive, washingtonpost.com, showed her alive. then they saw four people
5:12 am
wearing essentially the same clothing and were dead, executed. >> ainsley: so much pain for them. lawrence, it is your time to talk, i'm sorry. our country is praying for them. it is difficult. there is heaviness we feel in our country. >> lawrence: ainsley, i think you are conveying what the american people feel. steve, such a passionate interview from that young lady watching the feed and interview. she finally broke down once she got off air. there is a frustration for the people of israel, they have been painted as aggressors and trying to convey, this is who hamas is. for the american people and we cited a poll when i had goldman on, congressman from new york of
5:13 am
democratic party support of palestine. there is no changing the ideology of those of hamas. they are radical islamists, the same peep they'll share ideology that attacked us during 9/11, they hold that ideology temperature is a matter of their faith, they feel they were placed on earth and will get glory from their god by carrying out this act. for people that feel like you can change their hearts and mind, it is at their core and has nothing to do with the palestinian people as a whole because there are some that are moderate and don't share this point of view, that are reformers. as hamas as a whole, there is no changing them. >> ainsley: you're right, they were taught this at an early age, they are brainwashed. it is a terrorist organization. >> brian: only thing to bring to fray is with this woman, the
5:14 am
whole family, you should not get this information on video. there has to be better communication, i'm watching four families saying we are missing our loved ones, here are pictures at a press conference and nobody from the u.s. embassy attended. john kirby, said we have no evidence. really? you have to put ongoingels, get jack lu into jerusalem into the embassy. a lot of people don't believe what you just believe, what you said lawrence, and one is rashida tlaib. >> ainsley: peter doocy's wife hillary, she stayed late yesterday to get this interview and she is following her through
5:15 am
the hallway asking about what we were talking about earlier about the babies that were decapitated and hamas went into their neighborhood and took control of it, entire kibbutz, 1200 residents. some were beheaded in front of their parents and their patterns were killed after they watched their babies beheaded. she has a palestinian flag outside her office. hillary is asking, do you condone what is happening? >> terrorist has cut off babies head system and burned children alive, do you support israel's right to defend themselves? you can't comment about hamas terrorist chopping off baby's heads? do you condone chopping off baby's heads and raping women in
5:16 am
the street? you have no comment about children's heads being chop off? congressman, why do you have a palestinian flag outside your office if you do not condone what hamas has done to israel? >> that should be the easiest question in the world to answer. are you okay with hamas cutting off baby's heads? the answer is, that is savage, wrong, terrible? did she say it? no. she ran and retreated to an elevator and had her staff run interference so hillary camera person could not get a shot. tlaib said nothing, which is the wrong thing. >> lawrence: yeah, and she never
5:17 am
met a camera she didn't like before. they have nothing to say about this. to your point, brian, you had aoc that condemned stuff, had her talk about protesters that were protesting in new york. i was on capital hill and went to talk to representatives to say, if tlaib is not going to condemn this, will you talk about the palestinian flag being out there and at least suggest that the biden administration free $6 billion to iran? >> should ms. tlaib still have the palestinian flag up? >> this is america, she has every right to have the palestinian flag. >> she's a great friend of mine. >> she's palestinian. that doesn't mean she's a terrorist or condones this.
5:18 am
>> it was gross attack on human life, we want justice and peace. >> lawrence: biden administrations that $6 billion can be frozen. speaker pelosi, should we freeze $6 billion in biden administration said we can do that. >> i haven't heard that. >> should the $6 billion be froze snen >> no penny is gone of that $6 billion, iran should have no support and make sure iran cannot fund groups like hamas and jihad. >> steve: lawrence. >> lawrence: just to put a bow on this, guys, reason this is important is not to condemn comments and flags being stationed outside the office. to get to the core of it, there was a lot of heart there.
5:19 am
one thing that i -- when i talk to my friends that serve in the service and generals. the president did not identify the enemy or address iran. you can have heart all day and say that you feel for the israeli people, but to not address the people that helped them coordinate this attack is malpractice. to allow the 6 billion to be out there is malprakt practice. general john kirby and lloyd austin know this. >> brian: looking at pictures on the unfolding war and that area is considered the gaza strip territory. >> steve: port of gaza. >> brian: the port of gaza. that is their area and semblence of navy and terror activity would take place.
5:20 am
prior to going to the package was series of firing. almost obscured by the smoke. they know where they are going. they are not just bombing out sites in gaza. they are going for headquarters and war lord. >> ainsley: gaza is 25 miles long. stopped entry of fuel, food and medicine into gaza and they warned civilians to get out, they were doing this. the military stayed, hamas terrorists stayed, residents received text message telling them to go immediately. we have images of that. israel stepped up its offensive expanding mobilization. they are calling in 360,000.
5:21 am
>> brian: fighting force of 60's0,000. >> ainsley: we all know people who left america to go because they were called. if you are in another country, it is voluntary. >> steve: the way military conscription in israel, after you graduate, you serve two years in the idf and when you are done with that, you can be called up any time until you are age of 45. and so that impacts tens of thousands of people around the world. it is voluntary whether you come back. it is not necessarily mandatory. one friend sent me something and i will preface, it is from twitter, i do not know if it is true, quite a story. it says this fellow read an account by ll crew member, we were talking about this earlier, ll is official airline of israel they sent a jum bo jet full of
5:22 am
idf members. oerths orthodox jewish man stood by the counter, anybody that showed him idf notice issue got his ticket paid for. he paid for $250 tickets. it goes to show, we were talking with a rabbi over in israel. it is wherever you are around the world when your homeland needs you, you go. you drop everything and just go. >> ainsley: lawrence. >> lawrence: look at live pictures and you see the shelling. it is important to note, soldiers are making their way toin jo the war. i know people are looking at this and israel will continue to
5:23 am
be blamed by a lot of folks, what hamas is doing is using human shields. have been given warning and folks decide to stay because they want humans there. they want some type of propaganda to go out that it is israel that is the enemy. israel is targeting innocent people. they have been doing this a long time. that is something to consider as we see these buildings collapse. >> ainsley: lawrence, you were talking about how people blame israel. what was your reaction when you saw black lives matter chicago under fire for the pro-palestinian post with para glider terrorist celebrating or in sydney, australia, they are yelling gas the jew or free
5:24 am
palestinian group burning the israeli flag and holding up swastikas totally antisemitism. >> lawrence: i am not surprised, people that call themselves progressive look at the jewish people differently and it is sad. part is hate and part is simply a lack of education and they don't understand the holocaust or what took place. i challenge them, how could you be in the street in summer of 2020 and talk about love and no justice and no peace and see kids be slaughtered like this and you say nothing and make fun of them and you side with the terrorists? >> brian: like yesterday with the president of the united states, doesn't say anything, he says white supremacists dominated and need to be
5:25 am
stopped, never brought up antisemitism. just say it. trey yingst has been live along the israeli-gaza border. trey, we are hearing explosions behind you and seeing ariel shots from gaza. >> trey: explosions are from outgoing artillery unit striking eastern side of the gaza strip. gaza getting hit from air, ground and sea, shelling beaches in a full-on siege. you heard from the israeli military earlier in the show talking about what got us here, this massacre of civilians and expectation that the ground war will last for a long time. show you what the artillery units look like. firing off hitting positions inside gaza and effort to clear
5:26 am
a path before they enter the strip. it is incredibly difficult operation with guerilla warfare tactics against them. since the mid-2000s when hamas took over gaza in 2006, they were able to build this network of tunnels where they say they are holding hostages, the americans, israelis, anyone they took from southern israel, hamas claims they are taking to the tunnels. this is problematic for israelis, they are launching air str strikes. when we talk about what the situation looks like, it is not a traditional event that you see here in this region when it comes to israel and gaza. many times we cover three and four-day operation back in 2021, there was 11-day war and even a
5:27 am
51-day war in 2014. there is understanding this is different. this is matter of life and death for israel and this is something that will not be over in a short period of time. that is what we're told from the military and based on what we see from the ground, but from soldiers and many people we've spoken with, this is sense we get on the ground. >> steve: lawrence. >> lawrence: trey, i know you are plugged in and have sources in the military and ground troops are waiting for the order from the prime minister. what is calculation and weight right now for those ground troops? >> trey: israelis have strategic patience on their hands d i will have the cameraman pan to this middle unit here. you will see more artillery over the treetops there.
5:28 am
idea for israel is to wait and be strategic. they don't have to rush into gaza. they can take their time because this is not a simple operation. it does not mean there is not an urgency because of the hostages taken, there is understanding based on the tunnel network. it is not something simple. they cannot just go rescue the people. they have to take territory in an efficient way that doesn't get units killed. they are up against roadside bombs and military that hates them and militant organization that runs hamas and jihad. they can build rockets and weapons and build bombs.
5:29 am
that is what israel needs time to prepare for. >> steve: thousands of israelis have volunteered to dig graves, which speaks volumes about what is happening there. many funerals can't be held because of military action we are seeing behind you and are hadding. you mentioned last hour you have been in contact with hamas. what do they say? how is it going for them right now? >> trey: overhead you hear an israeli fighter jet going back and forth, they are striking inside gaza. i spoke with a hamas official and spoke with them today. this is someone that i have known for a very long time, a source of mine from reporting inside gaza who generally answers question i asked. he's been avoiding questions about the massacre that took
5:30 am
place. saying things like the land will not be taken from the palestinians and saying things like the situation is very difficult inside. it is propaganda, not a lot of solid information about what is happening inside. we know according to health ministry, a thousand people are dead inside gaza. i want to note one other thing -- >> ainsley: trey, our producers are telling us sirens are going off in central israel. >> trey: let me look, we will go to the app. when you are in israel, everyone has an app. my producer will check, too, to see where the sirens are sounding now. likely the israelis are under fire from short and medium-range
5:31 am
rockets. this is a constant issue here. they will fire rocket at different barrages to overwhelm israel's iron dome. some fire will be picked up by the iron dome fchl determined not a threat, sometimes israelis allow it through. sometimes these slam into buildings. we saw this week one slammed into the side of a building. gives a sense of what israel is facing. people get an alert and have to go to shelters until they get the all clear. >> steve: oh, man. >> trey: i am told they are firing on tel aviv. >> steve: short to medium-range missiles? >> trey: if they are firing on
5:32 am
tel aviv, medium to long-range missiles. when this started, i was on the balcony of my apartment. some slammed into the sea. it is escalation when fired on tel aviv. we know this and we know that it could be their way to send a message to the strikes in gaza or be the fact they are varying length they fire because they don't have enough rocket to constantly fire on tel aviv. tel aviv is israel's second largest city with a beach on the mediterranean. there are restaurants, nightclubs and bars. this is an active conflict and israel needs all the help it can get. >> brian: when you look at hamas missile stocks, i know 5000 shot
5:33 am
off on saturday, what do they tell you the israelis think they have? >> trey: great question. because there was intelligence we received last year saying hamas had 15,000 rockets and thought islamic jihad had six or seven thousand rockets. by the time they run out, fighting will be inside gaza and see less rocket fire toward major population center. the attack on saturday is not the normal situation along the border, there are infiltration attempts. when people saw rocket alerts, they knew something was wrong. we know they have thousands of rockets and small arms, they do
5:34 am
not have unlimited supply. many manufacturing sites will get destroyed in airstrikes taking place right now. they are building rockets underground and in apartment buildings and storing rockets in civilian areas. they are trying to work into gaza during this operation when it kicks off. >> steve: trey, thank you for joining us, stay safe. >> lawrence: thanks. >> brian: idf forces fighting back as hamas murder 1200, including 14 americans. number expected to grow. they are holding more hostages. desperate parents seeking answers like the 19 year old missing in israel and demanding the white house does more to find them. rubbia, i saw the press
5:35 am
occurrence yesterday and it seems like you knew more going on the ground than our own government. have you been contacted? >> it has been taking time to mobilize themselves, level of contact with the u.s. embassy st state department was minimal. last 24 hours we've seen a good change. we are glad of president biden's commitment. we are very supportive of the fact he put his -- fleeing the u.s. citizens being held hostage and missing. make sure president biden and secretary of state commit and make that commitment and act on it. >> brian: i had robert o'brien on and he said it is time to get our hostage team and fbi into country and that is before we
5:36 am
knew americans like -- next to the border. saturday morning updating us and he was active in the field but contact was lost and we received an official notification from the idf that our son is defined as missing in action. what does that mean? it means since then nobody has been able to physically identify him in the field. he is not in one of the hospitals and he's not one of the deceased. basically saying we don't know where they are at the moment.
5:37 am
>> brian: when is last time anyone saw your son? had eyes on them? >> saturday morning 6:30 a.m. before the missiles started. >> brian: we know one of their evil goals was to have hostages and do an exchange, that is something we could hear about shortly. have you talked to other families that maybe could help you piece together where they might be? >> we are not professionals or experts. united states has cia, fbi, other organizations that are more specialized than us in this matter. we are simple folks, want to go back to doing simple things and enjoying simple occasions people do. our youngest son is celebrating his b barmitzvah this weekend.
5:38 am
our son itawhy was staying on the base so we could celebrate as a family this weekend. we still have hope that simple celebration we could have that in the form we intended it to be. >> brian: so for you personally, what have the last five days been like? >> i think president biden talked about it, black hole in the soul. i think that is pretty accurate. so many emotions and no time to think about emotion, it is time to act. trying to convey that time is
5:39 am
critical. each hour, each minute that passes is not in our favor. the issue with the united states is that missing people, u.s. citizens and israeli citizens. in these cases, typically the u.s. take back seat to what israel would be doing because they are israeli citizens. we are pleaing to president biden and secretary of state to think of the 20 missing americans in the field, think of them first as u.s. citizens and get the support they should get as u.s. citizens missing due fo an active war and now being held hostage where no one knows what is their status, what is health
5:40 am
of each hostage and prisoner and having some sort of -- representative go visit them. that is according to international law. that is minimum that the u.s. should demand from hamas, which i don't know how to call that organization that takes holocaust survivors and young children and does things i would not like to repeat on the air. >> brian: they are sub-human, you have two of the best countries in the world about getting hostages back and i feel optimistic about your son. thank you, we will have you on to keep pressure on and get answers. best of luck to you. >> if i can make a small argument, if possible. what is going to happen now in gaza is that you are going to see dozens, if not hundreds of individuals that are palestinian and hold u.s. citizenship and
5:41 am
they will be approaching the u.s. and begging them to take them out of gaza. so they ask themselves to be seen as u.s. citizens first. i think the minimum should happen with us. if our u.s. citizens should be treated as u.s. citizens and u.s. should take priority inir caing for them. >> brian: absolutely. thanks, appreciate it. breaking now, idf says sirens are sounding in central israel, we hear it could be tel aviv. nikki haley all over this and she is live on set next.

5:47 am
as we watch images, you have been there, you went specifically to gaza to figure out what the palestinians wanted and what did you discover? >> i mean, prayers for israel and what i will tell you, when i was at the un, this is what i did, they were constantly hitting on israel. do the palestinians have a point? i can tell you, i was at a refugee camp and saw graffiti on the walls spewing hate against jews and i saw the schools, this is simplifying, it says if you have five jews and you kill four jews, that is what they are teaching. i was in the tunnel and saw the ammunition and where they go and put equipment, what they do. they put tunnels underneath
5:48 am
schools and hospitals because they don't value life. this is my biggest take away. if they valued life, they would neverput school kids danger. you are dealing with a murderous group and can never forget what they have done. >> steve: think about all the hostages we've been talking about, they look at them as human shields. the idf bomb said engineers were building bombs. you have to figure they would know that is prime military strategic target and what do they do? take hostages to a place like that. >> israel is giving warnings they are coming. hamas gave no warning, they were
5:49 am
sent right in. they have tunnels and equipment near civilian sites, it is going to get bad. they did not just murder 1200 people, they tortured them. we can see that. this is sick and we have to treat sick people the way they deserve to be treated and eliminate them. >> steve: the idf is going after them and they have been bombing certain parts nonstop for three days. it is no longer about containment. it will wind up being a parking lot. what will israel do, occupy the space? >> number one priority is eliminate hamas. they have dealt with this for years, they are trying to kill israelis, then they can figure out what to do with land. how do you go and literally
5:50 am
eliminate this group and figure out what to do with the land. >> steve: one other thing, we ran video a little while ago of hillary vaughn trying to get rashida tlaib to say cutting offhead of babies is a bad thing, she would not say a thing. what does that say to you? >> israel used to be a bipartisan issue. now you look at progressive and far left, i don't know how they justify the beheadings and justify 1200 people dead and justify the torture, that is between them and god. i don't understand and don't want to understand it. >> steve: thank you. folks watching now, if you would like to join fox in supporting israel emergency fund in socking with united jewish appeal, scan
5:51 am
the qr code or go to the website. help them out, they need it. 10 before top of the hour. lawrence is live in washington. >> lawrence: steve, great interview. live look at gaza city. america's bravest ally continues. idf announced sirens are sounding across israel. fluid situation across the country. next guest knows about fighting war against terrorism. tom cotton served in afghanistan and sits on senate armed services committee. talk about the $6 billion and the president's speech yesterday. a lot of heart there, i commend him addressing what is going on in israel. he did not the state's number
5:52 am
one sponsor of terrorism, iran. >> yes, it wouldn't exist without iran sports and president biden freed up $6 billion to iran to be used. it may not have been released yet. it freed up $6 billion to support hamas and hezbollah. they spent the weekend saying not a penny of that money has been spent, that is great, we can freeze the money. they plan to go forward with that foolish decision and allow iran to ship oil by not enforcing sanctions, that is fuelling the terrorism across
5:53 am
the region. >> lawrence: what is the reason for not freezing the money? >> they simply don't want to, they want to continue with the failed obama-biden plsz of appeasing iran for false balance in the middle east. what we need right now is strength and resolution. stand by israel and make it clear to iran and hezbollah and hamas we will not tolerate this atrocity we've seen in israel. >> lawrence: senator, live footage of gaza city and shelling going on. there has been this effort and you served and know what happens at war. you already see it in the media and liberal publication to paint israel as bullies. can you explain the goal of hamas from a propaganda
5:54 am
standpoint? >> dedicated to death of jews. babies beheaded, women raped and mutilated, families burned alive to terrorize israel. hamas is not just a terrorist group, it is governing entity. what israel has to do, what we did to japan or nazi germany after pearl harbor, has to destroy hamas as terrorist group, governing entity and social movement. anything less will leave israel exposed to this brutal atrocity. if we don't back up israel, signal more to iran and proxy to say nothing that the united states is not strong and resolute in defense of our
5:55 am
friends and citizens since we had a couple dozen missing or held hostage. >> lawrence: what point should america's armed forces be involved in the conflict? >> israel wants to fight their own war, we should provide support in missile and rockets and mission planning and intelligence and may need american forces to liberate our citizens. they are america's responsibility. >> lawrence: thanks for joining the program. over to you, steve, ainsley and brian. >> steve: thank you very much. this morning america's greatest ally israel fighting for its survival against face of evil as hamas terrorists show no sign of stopping. >> ainsley: israeli forces destroying a former university which hamas turned into a terror training center. >> brian: ambassador ergodan.
5:56 am
>> many of them just left their spouse, three or four kids and there are no schools in israel and the whole country, most of the country have been bombarded. the mother has to run during the day with her kid to find shelter and she is thinking what is happening with my husband who is about to enter gaza and endanger his life. >> brian: worst war fare you will find anywhere on earth. >> we endured hardship in the
5:57 am
