will: we'll begin with a fox news alert, israel preparing for a full scale ground invasion of gaza as they begin the arrest of more than 50 people involved suspected of being involved in terrorist activity. prime minister net ya huh issuing a -- netanyahu issuing a warn together enemies. >> i stress, this is only the beginning. our enemies have only just begun to pay the price. i will not detail our plans but i will tell you, this is only the beginning. pete: evacuations underway in northern gaza as evacuation deadline is set to hit two hours from right now. they extended it 9:00 a.m. eastern time is when the deadline ends. an agreement reportedly reached
4:02 am
trojans and allow foreign nationals to evacuate the gaza strip at rafah border crossing into egypt. rachel: get to trudgings live on the ground in southern israel. trey, good morning. this deadline has been extended to 9:00 a.m. in a couple hours here. are you hearing that more and more palestinians are taking advantage of that time and getting out of the way? and out of the country? reporter: yeah, good morning. we understand there's thousands of palestinians driving south and some are even walking just trying to get out of the red zone that the israelis are warning civilians inside gaza to move from because there's an impending ground operation. i want to start with breaking news, we're learning further down along the gaza border, palestinian militants fired an anti-tank missile at a group of israeli soldiers. there's at least one injury and the israeli mill stair responded
4:03 am
with a drone strike with that anti-drone unit in gaza. it's how the ground war is developing and taking place still as we speak. we've seen rocket fire into southern and central israel today and air raid sirens sounding in tel aviv and air strikes are taking place in the northern part of the gaza strip. i want to lack and see if i can see anything happening. it's critical to talk about the civil wans inside gaza and talk about this ground operation appearing to be hours away. we came from a staging point to see tanks and a p, cs and soldiers lining in formation and this is the front of the unit and not ambushed by the militants that are here in southern israel. this is a similar scene all along the border. they're getting ready to gaza
4:04 am
and multiple locations and we watched as tanks and fuel trucks headed toward the border. they're getting ready for the month's long operation and understand the logistics are in place. back to you. will: trey, we spoke a bit in the last hour about the evacuation from gaza. i'm curious, as that population moves south and the israeli army targeted northern gaza, i would have to manage embedded within the civilian population is potential, perhaps certainty of hamas terrorists and embedded in that population is a number of american citizens. how -- once they arrive at the border in egypt, which is closed, i've heard that american citizens will be vetted and allowed through that border but how do you go through a process of sorting out all of those different parties. ? reporter: it's a great question and reminds me of when we were in kabul during the evacuation
4:05 am
and there were people on a list, a flight log getting through the gate in the airport and it just didn't work as officials thought it would. masses of people showed up to the gate, even if your name was on the list, you weren't able to get through and get to safety and we'll see similar scenes in gaza. there's 2 million people in gaza and vast majority are not militants. we've seen photos of long truck beds with civilians piled in trying to did everything to get south w. it cops to militants in the area, they're going toward the area of the center part of the gaza strip. we went to a hamas military wow. parade in the middle of the trip. there's organizations throughout the strip and they'll take some fighters to that area. they'll engage the israeli military in the northern part of gaza when they enter, almost certainly in a gorilla warfare
4:06 am
and it's going to be a mess. the civilians trying to get out of the way, it's important to have a safety corridor and there almost has to be a conversation happening behind the scene with the egyptians about trying to get some civilians out to the sinai peninsula because they can easily sent up tent cities and camps for people there and vet people from the boarder and allowing women and children out of the active war zone and so far the only information we have about developments on that southern crossing and the rafah crossing has to do with americans and those reports today indicating there'll be a group of foreigners allowed to cross if they can get there. pete: trey, that was my next question was is the u.s. putting sufficient pressure on egypt to facilitate that opening? we give them billions in aid. why is it not a moment when we say, hey, gaza needs to be cleared out because it's going
4:07 am
to be total war. open up and create a vetting process and let palestinians that want to leave leave? has there been increased pressure on egypt? reporter: there's been pressure behind the scenes but objectively it's not enough. when we were talking about women and children in war, you know this firsthand, it is different than combatants and different than soldiers and military facting age men and they very quickly could say, children below the average of 10, children bloat age of 18, it would be their call to make and women can cross the border along with elderly people. so there has to be something to protect civilians inside gaza. the death toll is quickly rising there and we do understand that there are hundreds of women and children that have been killed already and that number will be rise as the ground operation starts. those are taking place behind the scenes and no major
4:08 am
development yet. rachel: trey s two hours enough to evacuate the civilians you're talking about? reporter: they had 24 hours yesterday and some time today. it's not enough time. it simply is not. we're talking about 2 million people. there's only a few roads in gaza really two major roads that head south. i've seen images from sources inside gaza that sent me video of the roads and they're totally jam packed bumper to bumper and people are heeding the warning ands this is quickly becoming a humanitarian disaster and don't have food and water. there's going to be a complete siege on the gaza strip, there needs to be a level to all of this in terns of the civilian casualty rate. octoberively it is rising and -- objectively it has rising and questions need asked of what to do with women and children and if they continue to go south, that's a possibility. will: thank you, trey. talk to you a bit later in the
4:09 am
show. i've seen videos of the people on the roads trying to drive south. people are sitting on hoods of cars meaning the car is full there's nowhere else to sit. they're on the hood. rachel: once they cross over, is there refugee cams set up? pete: that's why i asked the question about egypt. the sinai peninsula should be a refugee camp. will: but it's not and they're at the southern border crossing of gaza and as you pointed out, i've been informed of this as well, there's apparently a process for american citizen ifs they have the proper documentation to get out through the border crossing but no one else, just american citizens. pete: this will be an information war as general spoke to us earlier about, which is why you want to give enough time for civilians to leave so the problem began data committee isn't used against you and we know inevitably it will be against the israelis and they're running up against the time line of the sooner they act, maybe the intelligence is better and the opportunity is better to get
4:10 am
hostages or to seize the offenses. will: sometimes we used terms and i'm not criticizing and i use the term like propaganda war is inaccurate and not undercutting what we're talking about and, yes, there's a massive humanitarian crisis that takes place in gaza. horrific civilian and children death. it will also have blow back on israel as designed. this was the point. the point was to provoke an overwhelming israeli response and in turn provoke saudi arabia and separate from israel and that's g begun. iran to have what it needs to mobilize hezbollah and others to invade israel and separate the global community from israel. in a way, all of this plays directly into the hands of iran. will: also last night on jesse watters show, he had several generals on and they said it's a very difficult thing to
4:11 am
determine how many, the more civilian casualties and not just propaganda and the more future terrorist you create as well as those family members want to avenge the deaths of their family members who were killed in this. it's a very volatile situation. pete: welcome to the hamster wheel of that whole cycle. by the way, we want to give you a quick sense of the size here. we have a fancy graphic here in the middle of our studio to give you a sense. we've oriented you to the state of israel and, wills, you mention it had and the north fear how thicks go in the gaza strip where my hands are and another front could open up up here in the north and the heights of israel and we've note there had tel aviv and sderot and jessica mitchell l jerusalem and the jaire georgia soft and average strip and talk about sense of size. 25 miles is the length of what the gaza strip is. if we can zoom out just a bit.
4:12 am
six miles across looking at red line in the graphic and eventively the evacuation zone and the population lives north of the line and evacuation over 24 hours and three or four over it and not going to have opportunity for all civilians to flee with all people to live in gaza city of the north portion of this very narrow strip and ultimately what's the capacity of those in the south to absorb that population. this is a huge flow of people in a short period of time ultimately in order to create the environment for israel and if you're attempting to go into the gaza strip militarily i want you to say to yourself both for reasons the law of war and nip else and anyone on the street is a combatant and going to make a
