thank you. joining me now for more on the response of the war in israel is david friedman. mr. ambassador, thank you for joining us this afternoon. i wanted to get your take on the conversation ongoing in the region right now. secretary of state antony blinken was just in egypt. concerned about the reaction from israel and it turns into a collective punishment of 2.3 million palestinians. secretary of state says we are determined to suffer primarily as a consequence of what hamas has done on all sides. what is your take on that? >> the innocent civilians are the jews that were slaughtered. the civilians in gaza and i think israel is going to do everything it can to minimize casualties. understand the civilians in gaza , in large part, not entirely, but in large part have

celebrated the rape murder and beheading of jewish women and children. in bed with hamas. they provide aid and comfort. the safe passage of places to hide. under the laws of war as people recognize, many of them, not all of them, but many of them are fair game. israel will do everything it can't be a and israel's interest to do so to minimize civilian casualties. they are doing something no other army does. they are warning the people on the gaza strip. we will comment to the north. moved to the south. that is pretty unusual for them to telegraph where they're going israel said we will give you more time to get out of the way.

>> israel, fortunately, there are funds that are pre- appropriated thanks to people like marco rubio that put that initial 10 year package together. this is unprecedented and unexpected. there are a lot of supplies that are needed. a lot of ammo that needs to be replenished. the ability to confront lebanon. this is an incredibly sophisticated assault on israel. this is not anything close to ukraine. they are totally separate. not even a fraction of what we are spending on ukraine needs to go to israel. they do need some small, you know, digit billion-dollar aid whether it is one, two, $3 billion, but it is nothing like ukraine. >> the abraham accords.
