ground and sky striking hundreds of key hamas terrorist targets in the last 24 hours. this comes as israel is facing growing calls for a cease-fire as humanitarian crisis in gaza grows more desperate by the day. welcome to a brand-new hour of "fox news live" i am arthel neville. eric: i am eric shawn thank you for joining us for it israel setting and more tanks and missile strikes into northern gaza overnight the fighting we are told includes hamas a terrorist engaging in a firefight with the idf after those terrorist popped out of one of those tunnels. prime minister benjamin netanyahu speak with president biden today discussing the efforts to free the hostages held by hamas and the need to get more humanitarian aid into gaza. senior biden administration officials say the u.s. is prepared to support a temporary pause in the season but the israelis are rejecting a call for a cease-fire now.
1:02 pm
>> for all united the whole understanding we have a full blown isis on our border that wants to annihilate us. we have to defeat hamas and bring the total victory. nothing less than that. those who now call for cease-fire it is paramount to ask in america the cease-fire right after pearl harbor. we were attacked but the war is not about what happened it is about preventing the next time. arthel: we have team coverage for you jennifer griffin is at the pentagon. alexandria hoff is live and dindelaware trak in the white he response we start with trey yingst that live in southern israel. >> arthel, good afternoon. you can hear israeli jets overhead they continued to strike targets along the gaza strip tonight israeli artillery units also active along the

border. earlier today we watch as the israeli forces were operating inside the strip with tanks and apcs, take a look. as a fighter jets roar overhead you can see is r israeli forces operating inside the gaza strip. the israelis are working at this hour to soften their target from the ground and from the sky. the level of distraction inside gaza is significant. the neighborhood behind me completely destroyed. you can see at mosques and buildings inside gaza that reduced to rubble as israel continues their ground and air campaign against hamas. the israelis did release a video of their operations on the eastern and western side of the gaza strip they are pushing in what is being referred to as a radio. that we do anticipate those forces to stay the night in gaza as they continue to push deeper

into the territory and destroyed more titles. with the airstrikes you see here there putting what one specific location over and over again trying to destroy some of the tunnels with a bunker buster bombs. drone video from inside gaza shows the aftermath of the israeli strikes. more than four to 50 over the past 24 hours according to the israeli military to the extent of destruction across the northern part of the strip. this comes as we are getting a video showing palestinians in gaza reading a un warehouse trying to get any sort of food or supplies that they can. the humanitarian situation in gaza continues to deteriorate as calls former aide to enter the strip continue parade the palestinian red crescent said aid trucks were able to make it through the rafah crossing today at many activists in gaza say this is not enough they're calling for more support to the palestinian people. many living in tent cities outside the second largest city

waiting for the desperately needed aid to enter gaza you hear they are more of the outpouring artillery. arthel: do you get the impression it is getting more active there in terms of military fire, idf fire? it also when you are in person it seems worse then we can see it on television. how is that when you are there? how is it seeing people fending for food and basic needs? >> in terms of the situation along the border the number of strikes and the artillery activity is reduced tonight compared to the previous two nights. this could be an indication is really what to enter with some shock and awe to hamas fighters we still understand a group of militants came out of a tunnel today directly engage the israeli forces operating inside the gaza strip. in terms of the information were getting from because i've been texting with palestinian civilians who did heed the

warnings to head south. they say they're worried about the days to come and have questions about how palestinians will be able to live in gaza after this war was so much damage done to the strip. arthel: trey yingst thank you very much as always. u.s. military official telling fox news a base in northeast syria it was nearly attacked last night but the drone crashed in the dirt some distance from the base no damage or injuries were reported the incident just the latest in a string of attacks against u.s. military bases in the middle east since hamas terror attack on israel earlier this month. chief national security correspondent jennifer griffin alive at the pentagon with the very latest. >> arthel since a pair of u.s. airstrikes on iranian weapons and ammunition facilities and syria on thursday night there been a few attempts by iranian proxy groups to probe u.s. defenses but all have failed the u.s. is made clear it will escalate its response and
1:07 pm
targeting ironic is not off the table if in the u.s. troops are killed or injured but so far one drone as you mentioned landed in the dirt in northeast syria. shortly after the u.s. airstrikes last week we have learned iranian proxy forces fired 13 rockets at what's known as green village and syria. those rockets were so off course fate landed two and half miles away which begs the question as to whether they should be counted in the list of attacks on u.s. forces by iranian proxy since october 17. centcom has confirmed that uss dwight d eisenhower passed the strait of gibraltar and crossed into the mediterranean today. that aircraft carrier strike group is en route to the persian gulf not far from ironical be its final destination. another pointed message of president biden spoke by phone with israeli prime minister benjamin netanyahu and reiterated the need to protect
1:08 pm
palestinian civilians will israel defense itself and pursues hamas. here is jake sullivan. >> what we believe is every hour, every day of this military operation in the idf the israeli government should be taking every possible means available to them to distinguish. to distinguish territory legitimate military targets and civilians who are not i am not going to react to every strike, every move they make what i am going to sit that is our principle that is our advice to them that it's what we are communicating. >> president biden also spoke to the egyptian president discuss the importance of protecting civilian lives on respect for international humanitarian law and ensuring palestinians in gaza are not displaced to egypt or any other nation. that is the concern lucas tomlinson was raising that perhaps when this is all done
1:09 pm
because that will be uninhabitable i what will happen to the 2.3 million palestinians living in the gaza strip? egypt is concerned that we pushed and become their problem. arthel: they have made that very clear. jennifer griffin, thank you so much. eric: multiple reports say more trucks with aid to have now end gaza through the rafah crossing on the egypt border parade this after thousands of desperate palestinians raided the warehouse today trying to get supplies and food for themselves by the administration doubling down on its call for humanitarian pause and gaza so more trucks can enter what the desperately needed food and medical supplies. alexandria cough has more from wilmington, delaware where the present has been staying the weekend. >> hi eric the white house has been adamant this is not a call for a cease-fire it would be a temporary pause in military action to get the aid in un- facilitate the safe release of

hostages if they are indeed released if the ukase, eu other g-7 countries an agreement over this but israel is not on board it marks the first split with ally since october 7 attack by hamas for they feel hamas could simply not be trusted to adhere to a pause in fighting tears national security advisor jake sullivan. >> a pause in the fighting for example so there is a period of time there could be safe passage of hostages. president biden and his whole ie team are working extremely hard to get those hostages out too. we will continue to do that. >> sweet dude no president biden spoke with israeli prime minister netanyahu reiterating israel has the right to defend itself and ongoing efforts to locate and secure the release of hostages to include american citizens who remain unaccounted for and may be held by hamas. the white house is looking ahead to the 106 billion-dollar aid package requested to congress for israel and ukraine.
1:11 pm
republican congressman mike mccall said today the efforts should be untied. >> i think what we want to do because the need is so urgent now and israel is to start with israel first and then deal. >> is a separate measure? >> is a separate measure will have that on the floor this week. >> knew house speaker michael johnson said today doesn't believe there will be bipartisan support for a stand-alone bill for israel. eric: are alex thanks so much. arthel: -- is there any daylight between the u.s. and the netanyahu government right now? >> we have a conversation like friends do. the hard questions i talked about before. issues associated with humanitarian aid distinguish in between terrorists and innocent civilians. how israel is thinking through its military operation. those conversations happen multiple times a day.
1:12 pm
arthel: abided administration defending support for israel's war. they are raging on bring it retired lieutenant colonel daniel davis is senior fellow and host of the daniel davis a deep dive podcast. it seems like mixed messaging there it on the one hand you have the bite administration stance israel has a right to defend itself against the terrorists. then they're saying but they do support a temporary pause. on the other hand you have jake sullivan saying any pause in fighting would benefit the hamas terrorist. how do you see this? but you've got it right there it is very mixed messages it's hard to know what they think let's take them to different pieces. first about on the issue any delay only helps hamas is not accurate. look hamas spent many months preparing for this long before
1:13 pm
october 7. they have been pummeled mercilessly from the air ever since every day every hour that goes by they get weaker not stronger whereas israel gets stronger not weaker. they are preparing their doing better intelligence preparation of the battlefield. they're getting their troops more equipped and trained. so having a pause is not going to harm especially when you're talking literally hours to pause the attacks of civilian people who are innocent can get help. i think it is in america's interest to do that we should push a little harder for it and i will tell you why. yes it is israel's fight absolute they deserve the right to defend themselves because we are helping israel we are also tied to what they do if they do not get the chance for the civilians to get some help and they start dying, we get tagged with that tooth that affects our reputation in the region that something important to us as well. arthel: understood that benjamin netanyahu it is his country says i run at the way i want too.
1:14 pm
it seems to be he is adamant about retaliating and retaliating now and fast and hard. >> notice and we should not retell it what you do have to do is be careful in how he does it. we tried to hold everybody in the world accountable for the laws of war firth for the rule space in the international order we cannot say except israel that harms our credibility and reputation we try to hold others accountable to it. he can and should go and try to destroy the hamas people who killed and murder his people pointblank without question. but you can't do it without taking care of the sibling population. arthel: you may or may not have this answer i imagine it's a loaded question but here we go. tactically and strategically how does the idf take an aggressive full force ground invasion into gaza and wipe out the hamas terrorist? >> i will tell you the answer is not pleasant or palatable it is much much harder to do it that way. hamas has embedded themselves in the civilian population they want to make it harder on the
1:15 pm
israelis they want them to go in heavy and slaughter them because you are already seeing significant impact among the arab population throughout the middle east they want to draw them in. but what israel has to do is be very dedicated to doing things the right way and protecting themselves. that means they have to go methodically good rules of engagement and protect the sibling population. that is a lot harder to do than to go in there with a sledgehammer but they've got to go in there like with a small hammer and get things done on a surgical level. and i will be honest that will cause more of their casualties but will also protect long termm if they kill more civilians they'll get more enemies not less and that is on anyone's interest. arthel: keeping in mind hamas is holding these innocent civilians as human shields. let me talk about the hostages, what about them? how can idf or rescue them and get them out safely? >> that is another thing
1:16 pm
weighing heavily on both the israeli government and the united states government. especially because hamas didn't give a cue hostages back. that gives hope to the other 200 plus families have hostages on there and the last thing they want is for the idf to go in there heavy and potentially kill killed or hostages or ruin any chance they had to get them back there is a lot of pressure on all the governments to slow down to not ruin a chance to maybe get some of their loved ones back. i will tell you what other thing related to this it is a strange absence from the adminis administration's no one is even mentioning the 600 civilians in the southern for the gaza strip that cannot get out of the rafah gaither right there the state department told him of trying to get it but the not getting it done. that should be priority number one for biden to get them out. arthel: absolutely i beg your pardon and absently but how do you do it if egypt is saying i'm not opening this border i'm not opening the gates. >> we say look we are give you
1:17 pm
$1.4 billion a year we are given 3.8 billion to israel, this should not even be a question it should be information get this done open the gate because we can bring in enough pressure to get this done. biden always says he wants to show american leadership, now is the time. this is when it matters the most when american citizens, hundreds of them have their lives in harm's way. arthel: indeed not to make it any more complicated but do you think iran is trying to drag the u.s. into this war? >> i think iran would like to see us get sucked into the war there in gaza and maybe even with hezbollah. they do not want to get into a war themselves they do not want american missiles raining down on their troops they would like to keep their hands off as much as possible. i think they're going to be deterred from overtly getting involved unless we attack them first. that is the big dilemma about having art troops in iraq and syria coming under the attack at these islamic groups many are
1:18 pm
tied to iran that's what i been saying for years we need to get those troops out of there because all they are doing is be a point of vulnerability for us. they are out of those guys cannot hit us they cannot hit americans of the sitting in the desert doing nothing for our security they are a point of vulnerability if americans get killed biden is going to have to do some response there's going to be a lot of pressure on him to hit i iran that could draw io a war he has to been disciplined not to do that. arthel: of israel says will go after this but israel says no we need those assets we need the u.s. assets in the region. to back us up. so how do you play that? >> we have been supporting them with 3.8 billion every year for this reason. israel is a strong military power. if they were surprised by what happen happened october 7 but te recovered already if they just keep this to the gaza strip they will methodically win this war. they can do it on their own free they could handle hezbollah
1:19 pm
comes in from the north we do not need to get involved. we do not have a treaty for that israel could do it by themselves with all the support we've already given and more forgiving on top of that. we cannot get involved in another mideast war. arthel: it wil will leave it the retired army lieutenant colonel daniel davis thank you very much for joining us at. appreciate your expertise thank you. arthel: you seen the viral videos that show insight israeli protesters tearing down the posters of the hostages that were kidnapped by hamas? new york families fighting back putting up posters in their local stores to raise awareness the hostages plates. their mission, their message and how you can help next right hero on fox news live. the effects can seem like magic. but there's no magic involved. eric: the posters are haunting. the faces of the kidnapped that show the personal storage of the hostages are taped on walls, lampposts, businesses all across the country all to remember, and his sound been canvassing social shops and businesses where they live on long island and new york taping the posters as you can see on the front windows of stores in their town.
1:24 pm
more than a 100 stores agreed to display the heartbreaking posters those posters made by two new york-based israeli artists the website kidnapped from israel.com. elsewhere there is but outrage anti- israeli people have been turning those posters down. we have seen a videos go viral causing anger and a backlash against those people. a guy said he will not be deterred and will not appease evil. he is in the studio and joins us now but thank you for coming in. what gave you the idea and why did you decide to do this with your son and daughter and family and go out in your local town up at the posters up? >> eric, thank you for having me on today i think appreciate the opportunity. i was in my synagogue a saturday morning prayer services when i heard of the atrocities it. and at that time they were reporting around 50 deaths the 50 jump to 200, 250 and
1:25 pm
unfortunately we know how it ended, 1400 innocent civilian lives sadly taken by these brutal terrorists, these animals. i was struggling, to be honest with you, how i could have an impact i am in is really an american citizen i was released from the israeli army and i figured what can i possibly do here? i struggled with that in two thursdays ago it hit me on one of my walks i figure it let me go to this website you mentioned kidnapped from israel.com let me make, to the degree i can treat awareness between good and evil. and i heard what you mentioned in terms of posters being torn down. and i figure it let me go inside the stores but i did was i printed over 200 of these players i commission my family to help me in this endeavor. we went door to door the level
1:26 pm
of unity in our community is unbelievable. we did close to 190 stores in our area and this has gone viral. it is being done everywhere. it's been done in times square, philadelphia, it was on a plane carrying medical equipment and equipment to our soldiers. we are trying. think everyone is a tried to do whatever they can. before you go to kidnapped from israel.com pretty print them out at the print store like fedex or the k kinko it then you go get scotch tape and you go to the stores and you did something pretty clever you had them put the posters on the inside of the store win window so people can r them down. what type of reaction did you get you walking off the street and say hey i want to put the posters up? >> overwhelmingly the vast majority was positive how can i help? there are worse in people who were understandably concerned they thought maybe my store be vandalized.
1:27 pm
but for the most part i was able to get the vast majority. if you go to central avenue in the five towns. quexcess out on long island. we are seeing the video of them right now this is your video of the stores walking down the main street. what you think about the people ripping them down? you seen the viral videos and that massachusetts, miami seen nyu students event usc students and others, take a look at that right now what do you think of those people who were doing that? when you look at this video what you see your heart? >> to the people are pulling down posters of fort month old orphaned children i have nothing to say to those people those people are completely lost i am here to speak to the general population to explain between good and evil. it is so apparent we are talking about four month old's work or for and we are talking holocaust

's favorspirit what he was satet they bring some moral equivalence. what's your view of that? >> it is pretty obvious what was done to our people is completely depraved. completely evil. there is no excuse or justification for anyone doing that is morally depraved. it is hard to find words. hard to find words to express.
