9:02 am
southern front. i want my cameraman to zoom in. israelis are launching flares and lighting up the gaza skyline, in part to illuminate the area where there are ground forces working at this hour and to, matargets that you can hear overhead. i want to discuss the situation inside gaza as forces are operating. there are 239 hostages held by hamas and fox news learning high ranking official in coordination with the united states visited doha on 19d to meet with -- to meet with negotiators. here is what it was like earlier today as israeli forces were operating behind us. israelis are marking target on
9:03 am
northeastern side of the gaza strip and you can hear the artillery, there is very active front and israelis push deeper into gaza, they anticipate more resistance and strikes against different position. working on western and eastern side of gaza trying to encircle gaza city. we know earlier today spokesman for the israeli military spoke about the situation saying this. >> over the past day, we have expanding ground activity with forces entering the gaza strip. through integrates strike of ground forces and iaf, dozens were -- explain and provide an example. we are conducting expanding
9:04 am
ground operations in the gaza strip. >> trey: i'm going to show you the scene behind me, it is very active with jets overhead. israelis clearly marking a position here just over the gaza border. in the distance off camera, i just saw an airstrike and likely what you will see in the coming minutes here, they are picking targeted in gaza trying to determine what needs to be hit. israelis have been engaged by hamas militants, military wing, rpg's small arms and ieds to engage inside gaza. palestinian civilians who heeded warnings have started to stay in the south, but there are still many people in northern part of the strip complicating israeli efforts because they are fighting a bloody urban battle, battle within a civilian population. >> harris: you and i talked last
9:05 am
hour about what people are facing when they leave north to the south. can you mention a bit of that so the "outnumbered" audience can hear you, as well? >> trey: absolutely. the situation for palestinians inside gaza is dire. life in gaza was difficult before the war started, strip of land 25 miles long controlled by hamas, a group we understand was hoarding resources and fuel and food for themselves to launch a brutal assault on southern israel and slaughter innocent civilians and neglecting the population they control. the population is facing dirty water for people to drink, limited food, lack of medicine and support and the arab world is not trying to push supplies to gaza to help the palestinian civilians.
9:06 am
it is critical the rafah border stay open for aid and allow foreign citizens to come out. >> harris: that explains why we were getting reports six day after hamas terrorists killed civilians, just six days later the palestinian people were in trouble without food and water and the people were not taken care of before, it did not take much. there were no force on the ground and fighting had not been planned. they were running short on resources, that reporting is helpful. thank you. i want to show you new video released from the idf giving closer look at the tunnel system running through the gaza city to transport weaponry and where thought to be holding the 239
9:07 am
hostages, bring in brett velicovich, drone expert, former army special operation soldier. so good to have you on "outnumbered" today. talk to us about tunnels and what the living is like down there for the hostages, what it would be like if they are there. >> it's extremely difficult scenario and israelis look at sending elite forces, as they should. these are difficult fighting tunnels, they are like cities under there. hamas terrorist group smuggle men, money and material, cars, weapons other equipment, oxygen and gas is pumped into them. they are cities and they are creating tunnels under civilian locations, under hospitals and schools. someone like myself from special operation community, it is not the answer to send in small elite troops. the real answer is to flood
9:08 am
them, they should be horizontally drilling from the mediterranean sea from the surface of the gaza border and flood these. water makes it so they can't operate inside them. it is bold, but we need to help with intelligence is surveillance from the air to root out terrorist groups operating from the tunnel. >> harris: that bit of information sounds why they would take our people and other country people as hostages in the tunnels. they know you can drill on horizontal wall and flood the tunnel and would be operationally what they would probably do. that is helpful, brett. this is the most difficult part, the number has gone up to 300, you can't trust terrorists. how is it they can do these short-lived ground raids and get
9:09 am
reconnaissance? who would they be calking to at that point? the idf? >> they are talking to in intelligence assets, more than likely western ariel assets and especially now hamas is holding american hostages, i think when israeli commit forces, it will be from waves. israel will not go in with all forces at once, they will go block by block, methodical and precise to root out hamas. i'm in tel aviv israel and intense feeling in the air. reservers have been called up, people in the street, you are feeling there is going to be long, protracted ground invasion and battle that will last months. until you are here, you don't understand why it is necessary to expunge hamas and there will be collateral damage because
9:10 am
hamas uses civilians and civilian locations like hospitals and schools. they are not against palestinians, they are against hamas. israel has been living this daily. you can see it is a norm 58 day and it erupted in fear and violence. israeli shouldn't have to be in constant fear of terrorism. >> harris: i think what we would do if this was along our border? we didn't secure the one in the south. pray about that situation. brett velicovich, thank you issue good to see you. doug, i saw you nodding several times, what was brett saying that was resonating. you served sxn, that was resonating with you in terms of
9:11 am
strategy. >> doug: slow and methodical. reserves had to be trained up, they are different from our reserve sources. that methodical process is why they didn't go in immediately. they are taking it slowly and making sure they go through it. interesting point is not necessarily what is going on in gaza, which is happening there with hamas. what will happen with iran and iran-backed groups. they said they will do a proportionally response. if they come across that border, it will go from gaza to there and gaza will be maintained while you have to face off that. >> harris: and iran would have control over that situation, they know that hezbollah has up to 150,000 rockets, they can hit
9:12 am
that city, jerusalem, wherever they want and in the nation of israel. my question, though, where is saudi arabia? why is jordan? why is qatar? for that matter, any arab nation nearby that want relations with us and we want relations with them, egypt, egypt kicked palestinians out already, we sort of know where they are, but they are sending aid. why don't they take care of their people? >> we saw this for a decade in the syrian war. we had millions of syrians that were injured and displaced and killed by assad. it is interesting to see world-wide protest for the palestinians. i want to know where the people were for a decade of syrian war. >> harris: i want to know where they are now. >> morgan: there is something going on.
9:13 am
the crown prince was trying to get recognition entering the abraham accord or something bigger. he has not dismissed that. there is reality of this situation on the ground. all indication saudi will move forward and reported some missiles the houthis in yemen were shot down from saudi arabia. thatten moos essentially saudi was protecting israel and the woman who grilled the former hamas leader, owned by saudi the way that qatar owns al jazeera. we are seeing saudi is leading and saying we're not happy with hamas, not seeing protest in saudi arabia you are seeing in the arab world. >> harris: talk about protesting saudi arabia. that is really interesting. that is important to note, look
9:14 am
at what saudi is doing is not happening, like qatar where the sanction money is frozen temporarily and the former leader of hamas you just mentioned is parked there at the office for hamas because they need good communication. lisa. >> lisa: i look at this, israel doesn't just have a right to fight, they have a right to -- hamas. that is ekquivalent to 48,000 americans in one day. the response is maddening, joe biden is slow walking ground invasion telling them to aid their enemy and knowing the money is going to hamas. they have a military budget, peep elt still talking about a two-state solution and ceasefire when you have hamas terrorists cut a pregnant woman's baby out,
9:15 am
stab the baby and shoot the woman in the head and you are talking about reserved response from israel. israel has every right to destroy hamas and they should do that. if they don't, what will the response be then? how will hezbollah and other groups read it? how will iran read? >> harris: iran backs them, they will do what iran tells them. emily. >> emily: trey mentioned warnings and israeli leaders are warning this could be a long war and undercurrent of efrg y everything you are saying, this will last a long time. proxies launched at u.s. forces in syria and it crashed without injury, this is a marathon not a sprint. the u.s. will support humanitarian pause in fighting

to free hostages and the hamas leader said he would release hostages if israel would release palestinian hostages. this is psychological terror, nothing is on the table. the massive overlay to me is dishonesty emanating from hamas and actual toxicity that plagues this situation. we analyze there is no truth really to be analyzing other than knowing that the enemy has a language of lies only. moving on to this now, anti-israeli sentiment, chilling footage shows the region being stormed by an angry and hateful mob. some carrying banners with antisemitism slogans, rushing to the tarmac and searching for a flight of jews and israelis that landed from tel aviv.
9:17 am
[screaming] [chanting] >> emily: horrifying footage. a small number of jews and israelis were left isolated by the enraged mob. one group tried to break into a secure staff area of the airport. when they finally got inside, you can see a terrified woman wave her hands telling the angry mob, there are no israelis here and just like that, they moved on. what if there was israelis in there? outside they continued their search, trying to flip a security car on the airport tarmac. jerusalem post said one rioter could be heard saying, we are
9:18 am
here for the jews, we came to kill them with knives and shoot at them. it is difficult to say those words let alone imagine the fear and terror of the jews in that situation. this is unacceptable. >> are you okay? >> it's really hard to be a jewish parent right now. >> harris: i'm sorry. >> i thought about you this weekend when i saw you, your husband is jewish. when hitler was going after the nazis, they didn't care if your kids were half jewish. they would go after my daughter and yours as quickly as they would mine. and it's just terrifying to be a jewish parent right now. >> harris: wow. >> i'm sorry. >> harris: i think about those i love from the jewish faith everyday and in my prayers and my biggest prayer is we don't

9:21 am
thank you. >> lisa: this is why israel has to exist. look at what these people want to do to jews around the world. they said we are here for the jews, came to kill them with xief knives and shoot them. they support terrorism and support destruction and death of jews, we have to be honest about this conversation. you have those pushing hamas propaganda. defending palestinians when you look at 2021, majority of palestinians supported hamas, that is their government. part of what is healthy in this and part of what we have to do in the media is be honest about all of this. tell the truth, call out what is evil and this is evil. what is happening in america, we can't blanket over and talk about the plight of what is happening in gaza. talk about plight of 1400
