10:02 am
you can see nearly two dozen protestors there were slamming the biden administration for funding what they say is the genocide of palestinians and accusing u.s. officials of being terrorists. meanwhile, at another hearing, fbi director christopher wray was delivering a dire warning about the growing danger of terrorism right here at home as a result of this war. >> we assess that the actions of hamas and its allies will serve as an inspiration the likes of which we have not seen since isis launched the so-called caliphate several years ago. in just the past few weeks, multiple foreign terrorist organizations have called for attacks against americans and the west. >> john: all of this as israeli ground forces are pushing deeper into hamas-controlled territory in gaza. new satellite images show israeli tanks appearing to surround gaza city from at least three sides.

part of gaza. we saw as israelis conducted more airstrikes against this area. also there were soldiers out of vehicles walking alongside tanks and d-9 bulldozers trying to push forward deeper into gaza, reports indicate the israelis are trying to surround gaza city as they move forward. additionally, the other video released by the military shows the operation of israeli infantry troops and the leadership inside gaza planning the next move for the soldiers. we have one piece of good news following up on the story from yesterday, ori megidish, a private captured on october 7th, released and back in israel today with her family. you can see the joy of the faces of her family members after so many weeks in hamas territory. she was freed by her fellow soldiers and today the israelis say they were able to take out a top hamas commander inside gaza who orchestrated part of that

october 7th massacre. that commander was from the northern part of the gaza strip. as for the operations inside gaza, we do know the strikes continue. you just heard some of that outgoing artillery in the distance here. and the palestinians say the israelis struck a refugee camp in the northern part of the strip. we have reached out to the israeli military as we gather information about that incident. john. >> john: trey yingst for us with the latest from southern israel. as always, stay safe. >> aishah: israeli forces conducting surgical strikes against hezbollah, amid fears the fighting could spiral out of control. government leaders on both sides making it very clear they do not want an all-out regional war. greg palkot live right now at the israeli-lebanon border. hi, greg. >> we are watching the slow and steady escalation of back and forth across this border. no doubt linked to the surging

condemn hamas by name, but they do not condemn the radical islamic terrorism. you saw that blunt message from the israeli message erdan, echos what the nazis forced jews to wear. passed a resolution not only failed to criticize hamas but never mentions it. >> we will wear this star until you condemn the atrocities of hamas and demand the immediate release of our hostages. we walk with the yellow star as a symbol of pride, a reminder that we swore to fight back, to defend ourselves. never again is now. >> because of this, the czech republic defense minister says her country should leave the u.n., posting a quote, i am ashamed of the u.n. in my

aishah, back to you. >> a >> aishah: thank you, eric. >> i walk around campus and i feel so much hate. >> as a jewish person on campus, walking to school every single morning, seeing these signs, call for your own personal destruction is extremely disturbing. >> john: anti-israel protests are raging on college campuses across the nation. any moment now the white house is expected to address the rise in anti-semitism as the fbi investigates disturbing online threats against cornell university's jewish community. and moments ago, new york governor hochul announced law enforcement has identified a person of interest who has been

campuses. we don't have to fund it, a democrat from new jersey and i introduced the anti-semitism awareness act, which would require the department of education to adopt the ira definition of anti-semitism for discrimination enforcement cases. this is out of control. you have folks who are clearly ignorant of the situation in the middle east chanting from the river to the sea, palestine will be free. i mean, look -- israel has a right to exist. they have a right to defend themselves. the jewish people have a right to practice their faith. and what is happening on college campuses across this country in response to hamas's vile, disgusting, barbaric attack on israel, slaughtering of women,
10:15 am
children, babies, it's disturbing, it's disgusting and ignorant students that we have on these college campuses in america need to wake up and realize what is actually happening in the world. >> john: we wanted to get a perspective on what it's like to be a jewish student at cornell university. earlier i spoke to jeremy and molly, here is what me life is like at an ivy league campus these days. >> what we are seeing is absolutely terrifying and it's reminiscent to just some of the most terrible times in jewish history. >> even with police, you know, it's still frightening. we are trying to go about our daily lives and we are trying to continue to be proud and stay strong as our jewish selves. but it's still scary. >> john: congressman, when you see all of this anti-israeli or anti-israel rhetoric and anti-semitism rising on college campuses, pair that together
10:16 am
with what happened at the airport in russia the other day, and people could be foregiven for thinking this is 1938 all over again. >> no question. those who don't learn from history are doomed to repeat it. and we are seeing just some vile, disgusting rhetoric that is being used on these college campuses. people living in fear right now that they are going to be attacked or assaulted because they are jewish. i'm an italian irish catholic from new york. i represent one of the largest jewish communities in america in my congressional district. people should not be afraid to practice their faith, should not be afraid to be who they are, and to be hated and discriminated against simply because of their faith. it's disturbing and it is something that we as a society
10:17 am
need to crack down on, you know, and people cannot hide behind free speech in promulgating these vile attacks against people of the jewish faith or any faith for that matter. >> john: we are awaiting in the minutes ahead the white house briefing today, with john kirby and karine jean-pierre. flash back to yesterday when our peter doocy evoked the often used word extremist from the white house and turned it around and asked karine jean-pierre this question. >> does president biden think the anti-israel protestors in this country are extremists? >> what i can say is what we have been very clear about this when it comes to anti-semitism, there is no place. >> we hear you talk about extremists all the time, usually about maga extremists. what about the protestors making jewish feel unsafe on college
10:18 am
campuses. are they extremists. >> i have been very, very clear. we are calling out any form of hate. >> john: apparently, congressman, there are plenty of extremists, maga extremist, in the conference, but don't appear to be any in the college campuses. >> listen, this administration called parents domestic terrorists for wanting to go to school board meetings and ask questions about their children's education. but people that are terrorizing jews are not extremists? you know, that word gets thrown around a lot. but let's be clear. anyone who cannot condemn hamas, anybody who stands in support of the brutality that was inflicted upon the jewish people in israel, anybody who stands on these college campuses repeating vile lies that israel bombed a hospital, any member of congress who would repeat that vile lie
10:19 am
despite getting a classified briefing that showed very clearly that that did not happen, they are unfit, they are extreme, and we need to crack down on those folks who have entered into this disgusting display in recent weeks. >> john: congressman mike lawler of the empire state, good to get your thoughts. appreciate it. >> aishah: john, we are awaiting three major briefings from the white house, state department and the pentagon, as israel pushes further into gaza as part of its ground operation and concerns now growing over our security here at home. we are going to take you live to those briefings once they get underway. >> john: meanwhile, lawmakers are hearing from defense secretary austin for the first time since the israel-hamas war started. comes as we learned of another attempted attack on u.s. forces in the middle east. how is the biden administration planning to handle growing
10:20 am
aggression from iran-backed forces. we will ask a former navy seal team 6 commander. >> aishah: as the conflict continues, we are going to pause right now to remember the 33 american lives lost at the hands of hamas. we'll be right back. with 30 grams of protein. those who tried me felt more energy in just two weeks. -ahh, -here, i'll take that. woo hoo! ensure max protein 30 grams protein, one gram sugar, 25 vitamins and minerals, and nutrients for immune health. just a moment. but begin with the senior correspondent rich edson live at the pentagon. >> just a few hours after this attack, secretary austin appears before the senate appropriations committee, this is according to defense officials, a couple of drones were headed toward al-asad air base, the military struck them down. repeated pattern for the past couple of weeks. no injuries, no damage to the base, but you look at some 25 attacks over the past couple of weeks against u.s. positions in the middle east. it's something that's been ongoing now. in this hearing, austin told senators these attacks must stop and the u.s. will take further necessary measures to protect our people. last week the defense department launched an attack against a couple of warehouses that held weapons by iran-backed militias in the region. that was in eastern syria, just along the border with iraq. some republicans are pressing
10:26 am
austin to draw a red line for these iran-backed militias. >> can we say publicly to the families who have service members over in iraq and syria that we will hit iran if they try to kill an american through their proxies. can we say that? >> what we have said and will continue to say, senator, we are going to hold -- >> well, i wish you would be more clear. >> the pentagon says it's also boosting the u.s. military presence in the middle east to deter these attacks, even as they continue. the defense department has positioned carrier strike forces, troops, missile defense systems in the region, austin is pushing for more assistance for israel, taiwan and ukraine. on ukraine, he says without more american support putin will be successful there. and if successful there, he will attack nato and that draws american forces into the fight. john. >> john: rich, thank you. aishah. >> aishah: bring in dave sears,
10:27 am
a former navy seal team 6 troop commander. dave, good to be with you. i want to get to the proxy attacks on the u.s. forces in a second here. let's start with what's happening here in the homeland and the threats that are currently being made to our country here. listen to what the fbi director christopher wray told senators this morning about those threats. >> definitely believe there is a heightened risk of potential violence here in the u.s., especially from lone actors inspired by any number of foreign terrorist organizations or by domestic ideologies in some way using the conflict as an excuse or justification as horrendous and misguided as that would be to conduct attacks here against jewish americans, muslim americans, arab americans, etc. so we are concerned about that. important for americans to understand even before this conflict we are dealing with an
10:28 am
adversary that just in the past couple years has tried to kill a former u.s. national security adviser on u.s. soil, tried to kidnap and then kill an american journalist right smack in the middle of new york city, conducted a cyber attack, attempted a cyber attack against a children's hospital and tried to interfere in the last presidential election. if that's not enough to convince people that iran is a threat to the u.s., i don't know what would be. >> aishah: dave, this should be a wake-up call to anyone that doesn't think that this conflict could affect us here at home. what are your thoughts to what the director just said? >> yeah, absolutely. it's a threat to us here at home. the problem is is that they're saying one thing and doing another. you know, they say iran is a threat yet we lift sanctions on iran, we make exchanges with iran, we are appeasing iran in multiple ways.
10:29 am
stopping our own oil and allowing iran to gain more money from their oil. all the actions they are taking in this administration don't line up with what needs to be done and what the real threat is, including the department of justice. they are looking into whatever it may be, extremist gop people, looking into climate change as the big threat. it's not. >> aishah: so let me ask you about what's happening overseas as well, we see a little bit of that playing out when it comes to these attacks on our u.s. forces in iraq and syria. so far, 25 attacks on our forces. u.s. has responded, dave, but the attacks haven't stopped. clearly deterrence is not really working here. here is defense secretary lloyd austin with his warning to these proxies this morning. listen to this. >> our personnel have come under repeated attack in recent days by iranian-backed militia groups. and these attacks must stop. if iranian-backed groups
10:30 am
continue to attack u.s. forces we will not hesitate to take further measures to protect our people. >> aishah: they have already injured several soldiers, so what americans want to know, where is this going and what happens, god forbid one of our soldiers dies out there. >> yeah, absolutely. the response has to be disproportionate to what is occurring to us. so, they attack one of our bases, look, there is at least 13 iranian bases, outposts in syria. attack and hit all of those at once. i'm not an advocate for hitting iran, do not give the people in iran excuse to turn against the u.s.. they are already against their own regime. so leave iran proper alone but hit all their proxy forces. you cannot, again, these people, iran, their proxies and surrogates live in the world of rhetoric. they only respect action. so you have to take action, not say we will respond.
10:31 am
you have to show them overwhelming response. >> aishah: dave sears, thank you for joining us this afternoon. we appreciate it. >> thanks, aishah. >> john: a live look at the state department, await an update how the u.s. is planning to rescue americans who are being held by hamas. we will speak to the man who helped negotiate the abraham accords coming up next. >> aishah: anti-israel protests on college campuses across the country and students say they don't feel safe anymore. we are going to talk with a jewish student speaking out against the anti-semitism happening at columbia university. that's coming up. >> the propaganda has become so insidious. i've been told now that this acceptance that i was feeling is conditional.

. >> ceasefire now! >> john: tensions running high on capitol hill. anti-israel protestors disrupting secretary of state antony blinken's testimony during a senate hearing. meanwhile, awaiting a state department briefing for update how it plans to rescue americans held inside gaza. the u.s. is so far leaned on qatar to be the main mediator in negotiating with hamas. but what other steps should/could the u.s. be taking to bring americans home? adam boller, he negotiated with the taliban on behalf of the trump administration and the abraham accords. you know the players involved, the region, what would you suggest the u.s., even israel, too to win the release of these hostages? >> good to see you, john. a few things i would say.
10:37 am
one, qatar can be helpful to us here they have in the past and you mentioned negotiating with the taliban. when i was negotiating with the taliban, i was doing it in doha, in qatar, on our base there. and so there are certain people and qataris are like them and i think of them trying to play the role of switzerland in the middle east. and so qatar has a very important role here and i believe the u.s. is and should use them as a go between between some people that are very unsavory from a hostage perspective. the second thing is, the united states and israel need to not forget that they were attacked by terrorists, the united states continues to be attacked by terrorists, by proxies of iran and that they need to stand strong and israel needs to do what it set out to do, eliminate hamas from the gaza strip. >> john: there have been calls from president biden, from his closest advisers, for a pause in
10:38 am
the ground operation by israel in order to try to win the release of some hostages. netanyahu dismissed that yesterday and in fact said he thought that bringing pressure to bear on hamas militarily might actually help in the hostage situation. listen to what he said. >> hamas will not do it unless they are under pressure. >> they will not do it. only under pressure. this creates pressure. but we are committed to getting all the hostages back home. we think this method stands a chance. >> john: what do you think about that assessment? >> i mean, the alternative, what we are discussing, is waiting. and appeasement and think how well did that work in 1979 when president carter tried to do that with hostages in iran. it doesn't work in this region. so, i agree, you are going to push through strength here, it's not an easy answer, sometimes the best answers are not easy. but in this particular case you've got to push forward with the mission from hamas.
10:39 am
you still keep communication channels open, they will be open. qataris will ensure that but you cannot appease. it's not going to work in this region. >> john: ok, so then here is the big question. the reason you would negotiate, if you were hamas, a hostage release would be to save your hide. but benjamin netanyahu says he's going to destroy hamas, which i think you can take to mean he wants to kill everybody in the senior leadership of hamas. so, what incentive does hamas have to negotiate? >> there's many degrees of destroying hamas. i'm sure that as israel thinks when eradicating hamas, there is eradicating from the gaza strip and replacing with the government that actually represents the palestinians, that's one. the other is killing every single member, and so there are degrees of great here for sure, i'm sure hamas knows that. but if the degree they are looking at is nothing, i guarantee there won't be that much forthcoming if there are some degrees in here, there is
10:40 am
always degrees of gray and shades of gray, that's what they are going to play with. >> john: just quick here, you think there's a potential scenario here where the military leader of hamas could come out alive? >> i think there's a scenario here where hamas leaves the gaza strip. another force comes in that is international and where there are shifts if hostages are released, i'm sure that's a possibility. >> john: all right. we'll see how it goes. adam, always great to get your take on things. appreciate it. >> aishah: john, any moment now the pentagon is set to hold a press briefing as israel's war against hamas rages on. looks like it's getting underway, let's dip in live and listen. >> senate testimony as the secretary said the department has submitted an urgent supplemental budget request to help fund america's national security needs to stand by our partners and invest in our

that we immediately provided u.s. military advisers to offer best practices for integrating hostage recovery into israel's operations. and finally, we have strengthened our force posture to deter state or nonstate actors from escalating this crisis beyond gaza to include the presence of two carrier strike groups currently in the region. moving to other updates, today i can announce the decision to deploy additional 300 troops to the central command region from home stations in the continental united states. provide capabilities, and ordinance disposal, communications, and things for forces in the region. we will not discuss specific deployment locations for these forces but confirm they are not going to israel and that they are intended to support regional deterrence efforts and further bolster u.s. force protection capabilities. separately, secretary austin continues to remain in close contact with his israeli

press. >> thank you, general ryder. the army determined the main reservist should not had a gun in maine shooting at the time and other warning signs about him. is the pentagon looking at something that was missed or a way to further tighten reporting to law enforcement in the wake of this attack? >> yeah, thanks, tara. i'm not aware of any specific departmental efforts as it relates to this individual case. what i would say is that for service members who are departing the service or service members who are even still in the service but in particular, those departing, we do offer a wide variety of services as part of that transition process to include medical and mental health care services. once a service member leaves, he or she is of course a private citizen, and when appropriate, certainly the dod would consult with local law enforcement. in this particular case, the individual, of course, was in

the army reserves, so i would refer you to them for any further questions. >> and can you give us an update, any additional attacks on u.s. bases in iraq and syria in the last 24 hours as the total still 23, i think? >> we'll continue to keep you updated. since the self-defensive strikes on 26 october, 6 additional small scale attacks, three in iraq, three in syria, right now we are tracking a total of 27 attacks, 16 in iraq, 11 in syria. again, as we see the data miner alerts pop up, we check each of those with centcom, go back to verify the information and as that information is either verified or batted down, we'll make sure to let you know. >> hit the bases or all intercepted? >> in some cases they did not

strike anything -- yeah. again, to my knowledge, no injuries, no damage to infrastructure. thanks very much. yes, sir. >> general, you have discussed about these attacks that need to keep the response specifically to them isolated to the anti-isis coalition and how that is separate from gaza. but we have seen such an increase over the past couple of weeks. does the department acknowledge at least a link of what's spurring these attacks is the u.s. support for israel? >> yeah, i think it's important to differentiate between what iranian proxies in iran might be saying and perspective we bring to this, our forces in iraq and syria for one purpose, which is the enduring defeat of isis. that's why they are there, what they'll stay focused on. so, this is separate and distinct from the situation in israel between israel and hamas. and so again, our message is we will take whatever necessary actions to protect those forces,
10:48 am
to deter future attacks, and if and when we need to respond we would do so at a time and place of our choosing. >> if they are separate, what has led to the increase in attacks over the past couple of weeks? >> certainly it's not the first time we have seen the proxy groups do these things for a multitude of purported reasons. so that is not unusual. we'll do what we need to protect our troops. >> you said you are going to hold them accountable. do you have sense how involved the iranian government is on the attacks or simply just not communicating for the groups to hold off or do they even have that power? >> yeah, we know these groups are funded, trained, sponsored by the iranian government and hold the iranian government responsible for that. let me go to the phone. tony from bloomberg.

>> two quick questions. roughly, how much presidential draw-down authority do you have left for ukraine and a second question about the persian gulf. >> yeah, sure. right now we have a little more than $5.4 billion in restored pda authority that remains available for ukraine. >> persian gulf, is the united states increasing its force posture or protection measures in the gulf to protect international shipping from iranian small boat harassment attacks if in fact they occur? >> well, tony, you know, we have those forces in the region for a variety of things to include helping to protect the shipping lanes and free flow of commerce through the region and have been doing that for a very long time. certainly that is a capability we can provide, working alongside our partners in the
10:50 am
region, we'll continue to do that. thank you, john. >> thank you. you mentioned the u.s. is providing munitions to israel. does that include ordering munitions like the switch blades or phoenix ghost providing ukraine? >> beyond what i have provided, i don't have additional support to announce. again, you know, we are focused on artillery ammunition, air defense capabilities. >> with regard to air and missile defense in the middle east, is the u.s. providing directed energy air and defense missile systems to u.s. troop locations in the middle east that have come under attack to augment their traditional air defense capabilities? >> i don't want to go into the specific capabilities we are using to protect our forces other than to say we have a wide variety, which does include directed energy capabilities. thank you. yes, ma'am. >> thank you. thank you, general. i have two questions.
10:51 am
south korea, what is the pentagon assessment of the units in south korea -- on the strengthening nuclear guarantees for south korea which aims to redeploy u.s. nuclear weapons -- to freeze nuclear weapons production. >> i'm sorry, janie. can you repeat that last part. i did not fully understand. >> i mean, redeploy u.s. nuclear weapons in a visible way -- leads to north korea nuclear weapons. >> i don't want to get into hypotheticals. we have been very clear in terms of our commitment to extended deterrence, working with the
10:52 am
republic of korea, japanese allies, to deter and focused on that. we'll continue to consult closely to make sure that we have the forces in theater to be able to prevent any type of, you know, issue like you highlight. so i'll leave it at that. thank you. >> defense ministers of china and russia -- military cooperation between the two countries at a recent conference in beijing. and bring to the united states -- middle east crisis saying it was due to u.s. diplomacy. why do china and russia say that the war between israel and hamas is because of the united states? >> i'll let china and russia speak for themselves. i think their record speaks for itself. >> thank you, general. so when the u.s. assistance to
10:53 am
israel, can you avail us how many shipments you have delivered and the price tag so far? >> i cannot. i don't have that information in front of me. as you know, we continue to provide assistance to israel pretty much on a daily basis and we'll continue to stay focused on communicating them as far as what their needs are. in the future, if we have that information and we are able to provide it, we certainly will. but as of right now, i don't have that. >> is it an issue of collecting how much you send, or is it something else? in the case of ukraine, there is -- whenever there is a new package of assistance, the pentagon announces what's in it and the price tag. so this is being offered in the name of american taxpayers and american people. know what's been -- >> i don't have that information in front of me. an element of operation security and the mechanisms by which we are providing assistance to
10:54 am
israel from a policy and a legal standpoint are a little bit different and from a budgetary standpoint are different than the way we are providing aid to ukraine, and so you know, again, we will make sure that we are as transparent as possible. also recognizing that there are operation security aspects to this but like i said, if at an appropriate point in time we have that information to provide and we are able to, we will. >> so you'll try to offer the information when -- if -- >> we have been very clear in terms of the kinds of capabilities we are providing, in terms of the types of munitions, medical support, air defense support and those things. >> idf spokesperson on cnn with wolf blitzer minutes ago acknowledged that israel -- scores of civilians have been killed. idf spokesperson said this is the tragedy of war.
10:55 am
we have been saying for days move south. your own department is saying there are no restrictions on israel how to use weapons provided by the u.s.. the secretary today in his tweet about his phone call with mr. gallant said he reemphasized the safety of civilians. wouldn't the idea of putting some restrictions on how israel used the weapon actually achieve the target of making sure civilians aren't being killed the way we are seeing? this is a quote, gaza has become graveyard for thousands of children. >> yeah, thanks, fadi. i can't speak to individual israeli strikes. i've seen the press reports on that. i don't have any information on that. you heard secretary austin say today that taking civilian safety into account is both a moral and strategic obligation. and we do care about civilian casualties and we have made it both clear publicly and privately about our concern for
10:56 am
the protection of innocent life and the respect for the law of war, and that's not going to change. but i also think it's important to not forget about the common denominator here, which is hamas, a terrorist organization that has taken a page out of the isis playbook in terms of brutality and wanton disregard for civility and human rights. not only did they commit a horrific slaughter of israeli civilians and take more than 200 hostages to use as bargaining chips but have willfully and deliberately integrated their operations, their command and control, armories, rockets targeting israel among the innocent gazan population, using them as human shields. it's hamas using palestinians as human shields creating the challenge, and we will talk to our israeli partners about the
10:57 am
importance of taking civilian safety into account as they conduct their operations but they have a duty to protect their citizens from future hamas attacks. >> aishah: that is pentagon spokesperson pat ryder talking about the israel-hamas war and confirming the idf has now confirmed they did strike and damage the jabalia camp in northern gaza, a refugee camp, they were looking for a hamas militant and unfortunately some lives lost there. also the pentagon continuing to maintain it does not believe these attacks now on u.s. forces, now 27 of them, are happening because of u.s. support to israel. >> john: just little more on the jabalia camp strike. they say it took out the commander of hamas' central battalion. he was responsible for sending
10:58 am
some of the terrorists in to attack towns and villages and the kibbutz just outside of gaza. israel is also claiming that it killed 50 terrorists along with beari, but hamas is saying these are civilians who were killed. we are going to see the difference in casualty count back and forth and the messaging. let's jump to the white house, john kirby is briefing, let's listen in. >> even as senator mcconnell said israel -- we say first of all with you know that there's bipartisan support even in the leadership that those who are against trying to fund ukraine or siphon off humanitarian assistance, they don't represent the majority of their caucus, and again, take a look at the whole request and see how important it is for all the

national security needs. >> thank you, admiral. massive blast at a refugee camp in gaza in one of the most densely populated areas and they said they were targeting a hamas commander. what can you tell us about that and does that mean they violated the laws of war? >> can't say much. this happened before i came out here, i don't have a lot of information on that. >> if it -- violated the laws of war given what we have seen? >> i'm not going to speculate on something i have no information on. >> why have americans and foreign nationals still been unable to get out of gaza, even though aid trucks has been going in beyond putting the blame on hamas, what more can you say what's going on there? >> how about if i just put the blame on hamas. secretary blinken talked about this in his hearing this morning. they are putting obstacles up to allows us to get folks out. it's not israel, it's not egypt,
11:00 am
it's not places like jordan that hamas has been making it difficult to do this. >> aid is still coming in, the gates are opening. what can be done to then make sure -- >> because the gate swings one way does not mean it's going to swing the other way. obviously we want it to. the aid is getting in, not enough but is getting in. but right now, we just are not able to get people out. believe me, believe me, when i say we are working on this literally by the hour, ambassador satterfield is working on this very, very hard. but we are just -- just got to keep at it. >> reported that yemen declared war on israel. how concerning is that for -- >> i haven't seen that war they declared war. look, we have said from the very beginning, don't want to see a widening and deepening of the conflict by any actor or state and we have key national security interests ast
