6:01 pm
welcome to "hannity". we are broadcasting live from our nation's capitol in the swamp and the sewer, washington, d.c. welcome and thank you for being here. today is the end of a busy day for lawmakers with a flurry of votes including one to possibly censure anti-semitic congresswoman tlaib. a measure that was killed by democrats. coming up we will talk to mike johnson the newly elected speaker and steve scalise and many other gop lawmakers. make no mistake, with just 369 days until the 2024 election, house republicans, and i am saying to all of you in this room and all of you watching at home, you will succeed together or fail together. there won't be some winners and some losers. the only people that will really lose if you lose are the american people. there is too slim a majority for divisive in fighting.
6:02 pm
my message tonight to lawmakers, and we will discuss this throughout the hour, is put aside personal grudges, individual agendas. it is time the american people need leadership. these are consequential times. they need all of you in this room with me tonight to deliver big on issues that will improve this country and increase our border security, increase our energy independence. we have to bring fiscal sanity to the city. we need law and order and safety and security for every american and every town and every city. we need to uphold the rule of law. we need moral clarity in this time of terrorism. house republicans cannot control what happens in the u.s. senate and certainly can't force joe biden to sign any bill into law. that this is what they can do. they can stop joe biden's radical agenda if they remain united. they can investigate his corruption and they can shine a
6:03 pm
bright light on the federal government's gross abuse of power. again, if they stay united. they can also force democrats to share their true colors and a series of very important votes. put them on the record. they can get appropriations done in a timely manner that are also beneficial to the american people. we have got to stop robbing from future generations. keep it simple. if house republicans get lost in the weeds, if they get bogged down with petty disagreements, if their egos get in the way, the voters will punish them. all of you the high for every single american and frankly for the world at this time. unfortunately, we don't know how bad things can get under biden and one-party democratic rule is pretty bad now. record-breaking inflation, record high debt, record high
6:04 pm
gas prices, record-breaking illegal immigration including record numbers of special interest aliens. let's see from countries like iran, syria. other countries in the middle east. of course china, russia. america's enemies around the world are emboldened. much of what the world is now looking like is headed towards a more. there is a better way forward. the house has a very critical role to play and they are the last line of defense against the most radical agenda in the history of our country. they are a powerful check on the weaponization of our government. so what will happen the next few weeks? what does it look like for the house gop? here is a sneak peek. we begin with speaker of the house. let's give a warm welcome to your new speaker mike johnson. >> thank you.
6:05 pm
>> i certainly know my place in the people's house. you've got a much better reception then i did. >> that is not true. you are a rockstar here. welcome back. >> thank you for having us back and having us back so quickly. i think this is important for all the reasons i mentioned. before we get to that let's go to the news of the evening. the censuring of congresswoman tlaib. the expulsion of george santos. those two things did not happen tonight. >> they didn't. it was resolved on the floor. it is important for us to beat the democrats on policy. there is a lot of issues before us right now. there is a few here that if you go down that road and begin to censor one another you open a pandora's box. a lot of members of congress say a lot of foolish things. >> or talkshow host. >> that too. not you of course.
6:06 pm
we have a very serious business and very serious matters in front of us. i wouldn't change a word in your opening. you are right on the agenda items. what you see is a unified team. we want to get to work and stick together. i hope the cameras will pan the audience to see the faces of the leaders. >> we do have the ability to pan the audience. please raise your hand if you want to answer. is it possible on these issues that we are talking about, be at border security or israel or if we are talking about energy independence or law and order? can you all unite together? do you all agree that you will succeed together or fail together? >> do you all agree? yes. with a slim majority, that is going to be a really difficult challenge. >> it is. we are building this on teamwork and trust. that is what this group has in common. they are ready to get to work. we went home for the weekend. sum got to go home for the
6:07 pm
weekend to be in their districts. if you talk to people individually there is a sense of excitement in the base. people are believing again. they are hopeful about the future. we believe america's best days are ahead of us. we will get through the biden years and turn this country around. >> mr. speaker, let me go to the fbi director wray yesterday and a dire warning about national security and threats to our homeland. let's play the tape. >> the ongoing war in the middle east has raised the threat of an attack against americans in the united states to a whole another level. we assess that the actions of hamas and its allies will serve as an inspiration, the likes of which we haven't seen since isis launched his so-called caliphate several years ago. in just the past few weeks, multiple foreign terrorist organizations have called for attacks against americans and
6:08 pm
the west. here in the united states are most immediate concern is that violent extremists, individuals or small groups, will draw inspiration from the events in the middle east to carry out attacks against americans going about their daily lives. >> that is the fbi director wray. then he was asked the question if our country is safer under president biden. we call it in television and radio dead air. he didn't answer for nearly 10 seconds. that's a long period of time. i think that was very revealing. what do you make of that answer? >> what he just described is completely foreseeable. it is related exactly to our border. it is an abject failure. it's an example of the failures of the whole administration of what is happening at the border. we had it open for almost three years. we've had millions and millions of people come in and known terrorist. it would not be surprising to us if terrorist cells are setting
6:09 pm
up shop around the country. everyone in this room has been jumping up and down saying everything we can until we are blue in the face. secure the border. it's a top priority of ours but has not been for the white house. >> let me play a tape. this would be joe biden and kamala harris and karine jean-pierre and circle back to jen psaki and sec. mayorkas. they have been telling us for three long years that the border is secure in the border is closed. we have an estimated 8 million illegal immigrants that i would argue joe biden not only didn't enforce a law, but he is aiding and abetting and allowing this all to happen. anyway, this is them for the last three years. they have been telling the american people this. >> it sounds to most folks like a crisis. >> it is way down now. we have it under control. >> the border is closed. nor could i have been clearer and continue to be. the border is closed.
6:10 pm
>> the united states will continue to enforce our laws and secure our border. >> the border, we are working to make the border more secure. >> we are confident the border is secure. >> we have a secure border and that is a priority for any nation including ours and our administration. >> we agree that the border is secure. >> all right. have they've been lying to us for three years? >> they have. everyone in the country knows that is not true. thankfully fox has had correspondence in the border since it began. we have seen it with our own two eyes. all of us have seen it ourselves. the human tragedy that has become the border. i told mayorkas was he was in the house judiciary committee many months back. i'm not sure what you did at the department other than great harm. it is inexcusable. he has committed impeachable offenses but we only have so much time and resources to go
6:11 pm
after that. >> you will stay with us for the full hour. let's check in, by the way, with steve scalise. i want to ask all three of you in light of what we have been talking about and what director wray said. i think it is really important that we go to what was said by secretary mayorkas yesterday. he was asked a very simple question. this question was asked by senator johnson of wisconsin about how many people have come into this country illegally. watch this tape. >> i need numbers. don't filibuster me. how many people does this administration let into the country? >> our job would be a lot easier
6:12 pm
if the broken immigration system was double dashed. >> mr. secretary, i want a number. how many people have you let into this country? i will give you the number. it's about 6 million. about 1.7 million. we don't know who these people are, we just know they come to this country and are residing somewhere. >> are we asking too much? the secretary of homeland security, the director of the fbi is saying we have terror threats that are increasing and they don't know how many people they have allowed into the country. can you explain that? >> this is alarming. if you go under president obama, jay johnson win he was homeland security, the secretary said 1000 coming across was too many. we have millions. they cannot tell you how many are on the terrorist watch list. some countries from foreign adversaries. at a time when terror is getting on the rise.
6:13 pm
this is a major concern. it's why we past hr 2. the strongest security package. we past a strong border security package to fix this problem. joe biden doesn't want to talk about it. this isn't republican or democratic issues. democratic mayors recognize this is a major problem. they are calling on president biden to fix this as well. i think the country has come a long way to recognizing this as one of the top issues to our national security. joe biden is the only one mia on this. >> let me give you the numbers that should startle everybody. why do we have 659 irradiance at our southern border? why do we have 538 syrians? i'd like to know why we have tens of thousands of people from china and russia and also from the middle east. thousands of what we call special interest illegal immigrants wanting to get in. can you possibly explain the policy that allows chinese nationals to by up thousands and
6:14 pm
thousands of acres of farmland, ranch land and land near military installations? >> first of all it is because of joe biden policy failed border policies. every district, state and city has become a district. i represent new york. we see cities like new york city. democrat elected officials are speaking out against joe biden policy failed border policies. it's not only a national security crisis. >> it took them a long time. >> they were welcoming and now the shoe is on the other foot because they see the impact. republicans are on offense and places that were traditionally blue. you want to ask about the national security crisis. it's a humanitarian crisis as well. the 87,000 miners, under the age of 18 that have been lost due to human trafficking under joe biden policy failed policies. we will stand up for border security. buy believe that is one of the winning issues moving into 2024 under speaker johnson and this united conference. >> let me ask you, i think this
6:15 pm
is important. i want to play an exchange. this was secretary mayorkas with josh hawley of missouri. i will get your reaction to this exchange. >> this is a paraglider, a hamas paraglider depicted here with a machine gun flying into israel. she posted it under her online alias with the celebratory free palestine. mr. secretary, what is going on here? is this typical of people who work at dhs? this is an asylum immigration officer who is posting these pro- genocidal slogans and images on the day that israelis are being slaughtered in their beds. what have you done about this? >> four things i would like to say to you. number one, your question to suggest that that is emblematic of the men and women of the
6:16 pm
department of homeland security is despicable. >> i am sorry. this person works for the department department of homeland security. have you fired her? >> that was one of four answers. >> have you fired her? don't come to this hearing room when israel has been invaded and jewish students are barricaded in libraries in this country and cannot be escorted out because they are threatened for their lives. you have employees who are celebrating genocide and you are saying its despicable for me to ask the question? >> celebrating genocide and the person is not fired. i guess this goes to the theme of the night. is every republican in the house you have power here. you have the power of the purse and have the power to impeach secretary mayorkas. what do you think the best way forward is for the republican conference? >> first off this team had a lot of success in the first 10 months. we now have a new speaker, a
6:17 pm
great leader, the right man at the right time that this whole group has unified behind. we can do some big things. on this issue, it's about holding the biden administration accountable. it's about the ongoing investigations of jim jordan and the committees. it's about the weaponization of government against your political opponents. republicans are doing all that investigation at the same time. you hit on the biggest thing that our speaker is interested in taking back, which is the power of the purse. the house hasn't had it for years. we start doing the appropriations process that he has set us down the road on and we finish it. guess what? we can take back the power of the purse and hold this renegade out of control executive branch. >> mr. speaker, how do you force a president that is picking and choosing what laws he will enforce and laws he will not enforce? the laws on immigration in this country are clear. they are unambiguous. we have a constitutional
6:18 pm
process. we have three branches of government. he does not get to dictate this. but he has enabled, aided and abetted, 8 million people to enter our country illegally. we have watched now people from hostile regimes, our geopolitical photos, walking into this country, no venting allowed. is this not a clear and present danger to america? >> of course it is. >> what can we do? >> with the appropriations bills we will marry that with border security. we believe it's a top priority. we can't be expected to take care of other countries and other conflict if we can't seal our own border. the other responsibility is the power of the purse and accountability. we are holding these federal agencies accountable. they have been weaponize. they are being used on the people they are designed to protect and serve. we have to seek and push and force accountability in that way. our committees have been very
6:19 pm
busy. they will continue that. >> i want to get a reaction from everybody in the room on the cognitive state of joe biden. the first tape i am going to play, you are all laughing, the first tape i will play was put together by the rnc. the second tape was joe biden recently flying back from israel and he had a gaggle on air force one. i will play them back to back. then i have a question on the other side. roll the tape. >> with the nature not--win the political coverage--look, some of the political players and some of the--let me ask a rhetorical question.
6:20 pm
anyway. >> can you talk about the impact of meeting survivors and first responders? >> that is all--i spent an hour and a half before. i don't know how to say this. virtually every mass shooting, every circumstance where a large number of people have been victimized and lost have spoken to me. our department says it's highly unlikely and it's a different footprint. anyway. that's why you notice i didn't
6:21 pm
say it at first. i want to make sure i knew. i am not suggesting that hamas really did it either. [indiscernible] it is not the first time hamas has warned something. >> i will start with leadership. is joe biden cognitively, mentally strong enough to be our president? >> i think every american feels the same way we do. you heard gasps in the room. it is painful to watch. everybody can draw their own conclusion. this is a dangerous time on the world stage. we have two projects strength. projecting weakness invites the wolves. we know that. that's why it's difficult for us to watch that. >> i will try to be kind, sean. but like every professional athlete, we have some in the
6:22 pm
room. sometimes they stick around. >> there is no one up. there is one of them. >> sometimes they stick around a little too long. they stick around after they have lost. a little too long. >> i was gracious. congresswoman? >> joe biden is unfit to be president of the united states. whether your republican, democratic or republican or independent they understand that. >> why are all of you uniting and leadership important? >> absolutely. >> the ayatollah is watching this. pollutant is watching this. any surprise they are moving against our allies? >> these are scary times. we will talk about iran and the middle east. we have a lot to get to. the last exit question. is there anybody in the room, raise your hand high, if you think joe biden is cognitively strong enough to be president? is there anybody?
6:23 pm
just checking. when we come back, house republicans are moving forward with critical investigations into joe biden along with other probes into government corruption. we will check in with chairman jim jordan, chairman james comer, chairman jason smith. they will join myself and speaker johnson as we continue from our nation's capitol. thank you for being with us. - bye, bye cough. - later chest congestion. hello 12 hours of relief. 12 hours!! not coughing? hashtag still not coughing?! mucinex dm gives you 12 hours of relief from chest congestion and any type of cough, day or night. mucinex dm. it's comeback season.

james comer broke major news now claiming that joe, the president, received $40,000 in, quote, "china laundered money. tied to a personal check from his brother jim. meanwhile the house judiciary committee are launching a probe into the intel committee role in suppressing biden corruption allegations in 2020 saying that america's intel community may have misled congressional investigators at the time by pretending that these corruption allegations were russian disinformation. on monday jim jim jordan, james comer launched a probe into the d.c. attorney general's investigation of conservative judicial activists leonard leo expressing their concern over, quote, "potential infringement on free association and donor privacy. joining us now a long with speaker of the house mike johnson is house judiciary committee chair jim jordan, house oversight committee james carmer, house ways and means committee chairman james smith.
6:29 pm
good to see you guys. let me start with you. you had huge news today and you came out. i played it on audio and radio. >> we found another check to joe biden. the media said they felt like this investigation needed to do to be successful. find a direct link between joe biden and his family influence. we've proven that he met with all the people in his family that got money. we have proven that joe biden has lied countless times to the american people about his knowledge and involvement of the family shady business dealings. they had over 20 shell companies. we have proven they have all these bank accounts. now we have enough bank accounts where we can trace the money back to the source. we found the check to joe biden. this is the second check in a week. the first was $200,000 and this was $40,000. what is most alarming about the $40,000 check as it traces directly back to china. it goes back to that whatsapp message. >> that is hunter saying i am
6:30 pm
sitting here next to my father and we want to know why you didn't follow through on your commitment. and then threatening between everybody he knows and my ability to hold a grudge. there is going to be a shakedown. >> five days later they wired $5 million. >> what you found $40,000 of that $5 million went to joe directly? >> from the $5 million hunter got a fee of $400,000. then it was laundered through 3 different biden bank accounts to joe biden. $40,000 is 10% of $400,000. this is the cef sea. >> 10% to the big guy? >> it is 10%. 40,000 is 10% of 400,000. >> this is joe biden? he thought he got this new position. >> not the title i wanted. >> it is concerning because the president told everyone in the debate that his family never took money from china.
6:31 pm
they have taken millions from china. now we have evidence that joe biden himself benefited. >> this is in energy. hunter biden did a interview with good morning america and said he had no experience in energy, oil, gas, ukraine and none in china either. $5 million in this particular wiring and then we have the burisma money. again, no experience. at a time when he admittedly was addicted to drugs. here is what we know. joe biden as a candidate and president repeatedly said he never once talked to his son, brother or anybody for that matter about these foreign business deals? now don't we know that he was on phone calls with these business partners? i've never been to the café milano. don't we have dates and times and places meeting with the likes of russian oligarchs and shell corporations and nine biden family members being paid? >> that's right. phone calls, dinners, private meetings, trips on air force 2.
6:32 pm
now we have evidence that he was involved in the money laundering. this family, the crimes they have committed-- >> was it just money laundering? what is it when you call it when you get paid for something? shout it out if you know the answer. >> bribery. the fact that they are trying to say loan as we continue to unveil more money that has been floating around as the biden sphere. loans are a way to not pay taxes. its tax evasion. >> aren't they bribery, high crimes and misdemeanors? i will ask the three of you chairman and speaker. are we looking at a potential joe biden involved in bribery? >> they cannot explain what they
6:33 pm
did to get the money. >> let's talk about the latest developments in your committee. >> on one hand you have the department of justice that said parents were terrace. pro-life catholics were extremist. last week we learned they were spying on capitol hill staffers working on investigating them when they were doing the crossfire hurricane thing. not to mention the other things you brought up. on the other hand you have the same justice department that slow walks the hunter biden investigation. where david weiss tells a different story all the time. the white house cannot get their story straight. the example that tells it best is burisma. joe biden did all these things that jamie is focused on the bank records and reports. jason and his committee are looking at whistleblowers. their story has not wavered. the testimony has been tested and cross-examine. it has stood up under all of that. we are looking at the way the justice department handled the investigation into hunter biden. burisma is the best example.
6:34 pm
hunter biden gets on the board. he is not qualified to be on the board of burisma. the head of burisma asked hunter biden can you help us relieve the pressure we are under from the ukrainian prosecutor? joe biden does just that after hunter biden asked him to. he goes to ukraine and gets the prosecutor fired. that is the most compact and compelling way you can tell the story in addition to all the stuff that the whistleblowers have brought forth on the investigation and jamie has uncovered. >> he leveraged 1 billion taxpayer dollars four or five days after joe biden got on a call with hunter and burisma executives. they had a problem at the time. the problem was they were investigating them. lo and behold, as a consequence joe gets the guy fired with our money and then hunter continues to get paid. >> leverages our tax dollars to get it done. they are in dubai. devon archer tells us they are in dubai.
6:35 pm
the head of burisma says can you help us? hunter immediately calls his dad five days later and joe biden than vice president leverages tax dollars to get the prosecutor fired. that all happened and we have that from the deposition with hunter biden's business partner devon archer. >> let's go to the house ways and means committee. what is the latest? >> just last month we released over 700 additional pages that came from the two irs whistleblowers. >> are there more whistleblowers? >> the two we are working on now continue to give us more information and confirm their testimony. as the liberal media attacks them, they want to defend themselves. they have been providing information. what we have learned is joe biden was not just the brand that they were using to sell all over the country, all over the world. but in fact, he was benefiting from selling it. one example is for the irs
6:36 pm
whistleblowers claimed that they were going to investigate joe biden's campaign for a lone that kevin morris had done to pay more than $2 million worth of taxes of hunter biden. this happened at the 2020 campaign which would have been a huge message in that campaign. what do they do? the justice department would not allow it. they said they had no interest in investigating the biden campaign. >> let me ask an exit question of all of you and then ask the entire room. before i get to that, congresswoman nancy mace, on your committee you told me she thinks that the biden family when all is said and done that they will have received, the nine family members, the shell corporations, the funneling, et
6:37 pm
cetera, the money laundering involved and surrounding it, in excess north of $50 million or maybe more. do you believe that? that family got that much money? even the grandkids? >> they are on track to exceed that number. >> what do the grandkids do for the money? are they experts in oil? >> they weren't experts and anything. to this day they never said what they did to receive the money. now we have jim biden's bank records. he was as bad as hunter. the only reason we don't know anything about jim is because he didn't leave a laptop laying around. >> not a lot of people do. there is an impeachment inquiry, mr. speaker. is this leading to impeachment? do you believe the evidence that they are accumulating in these three committees is now leading to the ultimate impeachment in the house of representatives of joe biden? >> next to the declaration of war, impeachment is the most
