and we will continue to kill those that lead those against the troops wherever they are. >> they said anyone seeking a cease-fire taking a position. they have entered the city, they have reached the mediterranean, severing the territory of palestine into two and also operational maps, communication devices and command-and-control tables, and keep in mind it is estimated that they cover some 300 miles underground. fighter jets also killed a commander earlier, naval forces offshore hit these individuals that you can see here, also

challenging question. including whether or not they are able to entertain a cease-fire. are they willing to negotiate? are they willing to lay down their arms and a greater diplomatic mission? unfortunately with the rhetoric, some of the things that we have seen with fighting and tactics, i don't think that will be a successful effort, and they need to pursue forward and to continue to try to access this. >> you understand how difficult it is, a herculean lift. how do you move the boulder in this case? >> fourth visit since october 7, it's interesting that the administration previewed this a little differently, talking about him pursuing the

humanitarian pause, the first couple were all about israel, showing support for israel, this one was also about urging israel to be a little bit more measured, allowing shipments to get in, allowing more people to leave gaza and i think it is more responsive to the world and if you look at the polling, the support for israel has gone down. and so they are trying to be responsive and show that they care about not killing and injuring noncombatants as opposed to hamas. >> i think that you have touched on something on our coverage. this is an op-ed, i think it sort of speaks to what you're saying. on the battlefield, israel is showing signs of success against hamas, but on the battlefield of

public opinion, israel is losing under pressure from street protests. leaders have already slid back from the support in the immediate aftermath, and just three weeks, the spirit of solidarity has given way to calls for cease-fire. so i would like to understand why this is beginning to happen and as i have talked to you privately, there is this on college campuses and elsewhere. limited access to food, water, sanitation, housing, basic freedoms of movement. this is not a system to support, that is what some of the critics are saying. so can you understand this battle in the court of public opinion? >> i think i can understand that, i spent a week in gaza, it was a place where they barely

had enough in terms of resources and food and hamas intersperses with the civilians, i think the way that they are reacting the way they are now, you are seeing pictures and video of little kids, people that we know are not combatants and never supported hamas and even here in america doing more to protect them as well, this is the thorny issue. >> israelis have spoken with us about protecting ourselves, this is also about exacting something that was awful. you cannot defend this. >> israel has citizens that continue to come under attack, you have has blood in the north that is actively getting

involved. and once again, israel facing a multi-front conflict, it's a great challenge that no nation should have to experience. some measures that are being talked about with providing safety and human life, they want to minimize travel, so it is a balancing act, especially in a geographical region and as densely populated as gaza when you have that intermixed and woven community as well as innocent civilians that are bystanders. unfortunately they are not able to return and i think israel has to assume more of a footprint to assist with certain parts of infrastructure there. >> no perfect recipe, indeed. unlike any other nation, it is a

have to put an end to the aggression, you know full well that if there is a regional war, this will be no good. bombing from the air will not work. and your interests, your soldiers, they will pay the price. >> his speech was well received in tehran. they finance it as proxy. >> the speech was viewed by a large crowd of supporters held up photos including this rocky militant, both killed in a strike in 2020.

and this is a lebanese muslim who has served as the leader for over 30 years now, ever since his predecessor was assassinated by israel in 1992, he first went in 1982 and that was during the israeli invasion as well. >> this is one of those circumstances where no matter how you look at it, things seem to be getting edgier, possibly worse by the day. including possible organizations and others who are not just threatening but participating. getting your reaction on the other side. >> i say to the americans,

tensions, those that see ideologies, they feel like this is their turn to serve this purpose and of course the border issue as well, we don't know who's coming and, what their motivation is. if they are waiting for a code to do something. the other thing is a few people can do a lot of damage. this is the nightmare scenario, they can't sleep at night because they are thinking about how do we prevent these issues, it is very difficult. >> i completely agree with him. we have these increased threats, this administration is doing nothing and they are continuing with this open border policy and they are putting politics ahead of the public.

every single time and it was really, it was a platitude of nonsense and evasiveness and we take it seriously. and what about all that got away. and people could come tomorrow and get across the border just as easily, even with these threats, which makes it deeply frightening. eighteen alone in the month of september that were on the terror watch list that made their way into this country. this is an interesting comment. this is the executive director of the people's forum. and it says this is going to be a historic mobilization funding the genocide of our brothers and

sisters, we will not fund them. the tide is turning, we must stay on the streets and increase the pressure. that seems to be the mood, not just on college campuses as i pointed out, but it seems to be building across the country, or am i overstating that. >> it seems to be growing. how is this administration going to respond? are they going to alter policy that they believe is the right policy to appease the protesters that might be part of their base? i really think that it's an interesting question. they already seem to be backing off of what they said even a week or two weeks ago. so i think that this is a very good question and it will be interesting to see what happens. >> the thing that is scary as it is further energizing

anti-semitism. this kind of activity could escalate those issues. freedom of religion is being attacked here, not just at college campuses, but around the country. the united states and the world. and i'm fearful something is going to happen. it is so scary and disheartening for many. in the meantime, assisted in part by the u.s. embassy, jackie has more with the latest on the rescue efforts. >> the white house announcing more than 100 u.s. citizens and their families have evacuated as the state department worked to rescue hundreds of americans. allowing hostages to leave gaza, and getting humanitarian assistance into the strip.

leave were also able to get out as of thursday. and they have also talked about ways to minimize civilian casualties, elaborating what that meant, saying those are conversations of the u.s. can only have with such a strong ally. >> kevin: escalating in an area that has not been talked about a lot since the whole thing began. our chief correspondent is with us now. >> they are very angry right now, this situation unfolding in gaza, also more than 100 palestinians have been clashing

october 7. and they are talking about how those protests would unfold. take a look at this. >> this is a much smaller crowd than expected. and they fear lives may be lost. there have been some protesters here, we have heard gunshots are coming from this position behind me. one palestinian appeared to be hit, injured, taken away in an ambulance. >> right behind us, there was a face-off of a protest, live rounds were fired several times.

and what i can tell you is that people there are telling us that the palestinian authority's, right now, losing support and there is an election, if it was held now, hamas would win us what they set. imagine how terrifying that is. >> is it because of the frustration? is that what is behind this? the second part of the question would be how dangerous would an uprising in that area be. >> decades of frustration, but it is building much more now because of what is happening. the second point, the hamas

this is the attacking of a culture and of a people, and that is never something you would expect on a college campus, or am i over reading that? >> absolutely, the students on nyu campus said that they were feeling unsafe, and the word for white supremacy was taken and stomped on in front of their faces. when we were with the trump white house, he funded an executive order about combating anti-semitism. and the civil rights act prohibits racial discrimination on college campuses. including anti-semitism. so clearly they say that white supremacy is a legal. they should not have any federal

funding, not a single dollar, the joe biden administration is violating the law by continuing to let them go to nyu. >> one of the things was the idea that there has to be a reason behind all the protesting. there must be something that appears to be driving college campuses. and many of the students feel like this is a nation that is segregated and refuses to enable many to have access to food and water, we cannot continue to support this in the wrong ways. >> there is a lack of information of what is taking place. i think you are correct that that is the narrative, the

palestinian narrative of what young people hearing. including banning tiktok in the country, because when you look at the disparity of pro groups that are out there, and they have a lack of information, you would have somebody go up to those who are fighting in favor of this, and they have specific questions, the elimination of the nation, supporting the students is so important, not letting these bad things happen. and it can drive one thing over the other. >> i do agree when you look at the hash tags and you see a proliferation of the hash tags,

hour. getting reports of six people shot cincinnati, including juveniles. one person headed has reportedly died. all of this is happening near a playground where there is a large police presence, a local news outlets that there are multiple people calling police about family members. and as we get more information we promise to pass it along. protecting our borders, a palestinian in the united states has been indicted on a firearms violation and a terrorism suspect from africa was released mistakenly into the country after entering the u.s. illegally. here is our senior correspondent with more. >> it was here where back on october 3, agents of i.c.e. said that a suspect wanted on multiple terrorism charges in senegal, africa, was detained and let go after the criminal record did not show up for the

29-year-old. >> that tells you one thing, the threat is here. >> one week later, homeland security agents notified i.c.e. that the man was wanted for terroristic activities. in another week went by before the agents arrested him and new york on october 17. the officials say that many more suspected criminals could be slipping through the cracks. >> the fact that we have 1.6, and 1.7 million in the database, we don't know where all of these individuals are. >> a venezuelan national was allowed to enter country over the summer despite being convicted of murder back in his home country. >> we are concerned about terrorists. the top job is national security. joe biden is failing a national security. >> republican senator roger marshall pressed the secretary
