concern. barack obama was also losing at this point in his reelection campaign. speaking of the former president, his top strategist is suggesting that biden should drop out. >> the issue is not -- for him is not political. you can see that in this poll. there's just a lot of concern about the age issue. think he needs to ponder. just do a check and say is this the right thing to do. time is fleeting here. this is probably the last moment for him to do that check. it is probably good if he does. >> the media is also seriously worried about the sevens election prospects. >> these are alarming yes budget serve as a wake-up call that the biden campaign in the country needs to understand what the

"the washington post" even put in the reporting that this is probably an outlier. everyone should not freak out. it turns out several polls since and shown the same thing. "the new york times" saying that. do you think axelrod is speaking for many democrats? he is willing to say out loud what many democrats are thinking? >> first, there is a belief in the democrat party and the biggest thing that unites democrats is that they don't want donald trump as president again.

you now have polling, consistent polling showing joe biden not being able to defeat him in key states. the national polling is rel relevant. five or six states. arizona, the border has something to do with it there. the other states, the thing i found most interesting is that 22% african american support, the fact that trump was leading in the more diverse the state wants the more former president trump was winning. the second thing that alarms me as part of this is president biden is named his economic message and economic plan going forward biden economics. there's one cost in american politics. the economy is always the issue. even if national security and other cultural issues are part of it, it all comes back to the economy. the border can come back to the economy. we are dealing with in israel and ukraine. as i listen to david axelrod, i heard the same thing. i wonder if he is suggesting that the president's age and may

be a lack comfort with vice president harris as a backup to the president. those issues that democrats are heavy on democrats minds good thinking about running and obviously there's someone in the race on the primary side. you've got to think about how do you stir support in south carolina? how to use their support? new hampshire is an outlier because of the challenges and consternation between the biden campaign in biden choosing to put south carolina in front. i saw a poll that said like voters in south carolina have some reservation about president biden. i would encourage democrats to distinguish in 2012 on 2 france. we were not in 2 wars then. president biden ran on having this kind of experience. the person that was the front runner on the other side likely was mitt romney. he went on to be the nominee.

shellacked. i was all in on the red wave. i might need to temper when i'm gonna say about this. when i see a poll this good know i have a hard time staying away from it. this poll is good. this is landslide city. this is 300 electoral votes for trump. this is trump might win the popular vote. if he sweeps this battleground states. if you get a win like that, it doesn't necessarily just mean it is a rejection of bidenomics. it is an endorsement of maga. if you -- this is maga country. maybe chicago is maga country if these numbers shake out. you are going to have to then if trump wins, uproot everything about bidenomics. you are going to uproot the entire green new deal. this is a full endorsement for the president to lock down the border. the media is going to have to live for joe biden to win and lie much more than they

the new york attorney general and showing up and just sitting in the back of this court room all day long. she is not even arguing the case. she's got a crime wave. she's got a white collar crime wave. what is she doing? nothing. she is sitting in the back of the courtroom every day watching her lawyers argue the trial. she's giving a press conference and calling the former president names. what a waste of time. the fact that no one has ever prosecuted a case like this and the history of new york state. it is crazy. >> it is crazy, harold. what do you have to say about letitia james? this is personal. this isn't really about her job, is it, harold? >> i follow this in the press. i read some of the motions because i was curious. three takeaways. i don't think most people know that the facts of this case --

the judge gave -- the attorney general argument wins. there has been fraud. they appealed. they lost the appeal. this is about the penalty phase. the only person who is going to decide has any say so and what the penalty for president trump is the judge. i would probably come out that's a little differently. i might be criticizing letitia james for bringing the case. he has every right to do that. i don't understand why you would go after the judge as viciously as he is. finally, people are criticizing letitia james for being political and campaigning on the back that she was going to go after president trump. i am like dana on two things. i'm old-fashioned about the courtroom. i'm old-fashioned. i don't think judges and top prosecutors out to be elected. i think we ought to have a different way of doing it. they run on an agenda. she ran on an agenda.

president trump said i will appoint judges that will undo abortion. he got elected and guess what. he did exactly that. the politics of this doesn't bother me as much as i'm not sure this impacts the president's politics for the real question for him is will he ever be able to do business in new york state again? i can very well be the penalty in this case. >> what advice would you give him when he's in the courtroom? >> i would advise them to ask for a better sketch artist. it does not look like -- i would just simply say this. letitia james to call someone a con man then got elected, then bring this case, then have a judge who says i'm not here to hear what president trump has to say. you are the judge. you have to listen to what the defendant says. this is a travesty of justice. that sketch looks nothing like trump.
