now, if republicans do get control of the house and senate, some of the things they have been talking about are stronger penalties for fentanyl dealers, more parental notification in schools. environmental regulations, potential roll back of gun control measures and also pushing limits on abortion after 15 weeks. that and gun control, those are really the two big issues that democrats have been speaking about in this election. they have been calling in the big political names across the political spectrum, former president barack obama recorded a robocall. he has been tweeting about these elections trying to get democrats to come out here and vote here, president biden, vice president harris, they have endorsed nearly two dozen candidates across the state of virginia in those really tight races that are really going to decide this. talking about those issues as well former house speaker nancy pelosi was in virginia, maryland governor wes more who is a democrat he was campaigning in virginia. so this is a real national focus that we have had here and also a lot of national and state money.

they brought in a new carrier strike group. it's now going to the persian gulf on its way, almost there. remember, deterrence is two things. capability and will. the president is amassing a lot of military capability in the region. he has not shown the iranians any will to actually use that capability and, therefore, he is failing to restore deterrence. >> well, richard, president biden is asking netanyahu for a brief three-day -- they are not calling it cease-fire. they call it a pause to make themselves feel better so they can release more hostages. netanyahu reportedly rejected the idea and said he doesn't trust hamas. and it sounds like, to me, that biden is listening to the political conversation in the streets and the pressure being brought to bear against the white house over the weekend. your thoughts on the pause suggestion? remember this is the same rouse brokered the deal $6 billion for five people. who brokered that hostage deal?

qatar. who is brokering this hostage deal? qatar, who harbors hamas and is the sponsor of hamas? qatar. what are we doing here? of course this is going to be a hostage negotiation in hamas' favor. so do you know what? there is 240 hostages. let's not talk about a cease-fire to let hamas live to massacre another day for 12 people. let's talk about unconditional release of 240 people or we start putting maximum pressure on qatar. >> laura: apparently they are not worried about qatar. they are worried about politics back home. richard, thank you. all right, we're going to have another live report from virginia as election results are beginning to trickle in plus the return of jimmy failla. we need that tonight, don't we? stay there. ♪
