to make. >> steve: right. what she has said in the past is she is not behind a national abortion ban. obviously that's not what the supreme court said. they said every state has got to decide it. and last night she said essentially she is for something that would pass. she was asked whether or not she would be behind a 15-week ban. she said i'm behind something that will pass. interestingly enough, if you just are getting up, we had lee carter on a little while ago. about 20 minutes ago. she said, according to the people who watched the event last night over on nbc, the dialers picked nikki haley as the big winner of the event. >> lawrence: the problem that these republican candidates are facing right now is that none of them can really get oxygen. i mean, you got donald trump that is. >> steve: so far ahead. >> lawrence: taking everything out of the room right now. i think ron desantis actually had his best debate performance lawrence. >> ainsley: i thought he did well, too. >> different mommy's he seemed a

lot more likeable as he was addressing the policy strong on the issues. but is it enough to get him to win iowa. everyone is talking about kim reynolds endorsement. right now donald trump is still up by 30 points in that state. >> brian: here's the thing, when he is not doing something he is in court. when he is in court everything stops and you look at donald trump. this civil case. terrible for his business, absolutely. >> ainsley: not criminal. >> brian: nobody thinks that he is being treated fairly. nobody. i flip around to the biggest -- they are having trouble with this. because this is a total political hit job on his stuff for inflating things that banks have no problem with. >> lawrence: i'm so sorry, ainsley. >> ainsley: go ahead. >> lawrence: to your point, brian, you are talking about the litigation that's happening. i think these republican candidates that are on the stage are waiting for that big moment with the court case that takes him out of the race. meanwhile, republican voters are saying this is unjust. so, i don't think they are reading the room quite right right now. >> ainsley: several things when i was watching last night you think does this really even

matter? approval rating is higher than all of those five people combined. is he going -- he is the frontrunner, no doubt. desantis and haley i thought had winning nights last night for different reasons. she was more defensive. >> she had to be. she defended her daughter. she defended wearing the high heels. and vivek was making fun of the 3-inch high heels she said actually they are 5 inches and i use them to run and i use them as ammunition like i can handle more than just 3 inches. >> brian: don't you think it's just so purge? >> ainsley: it is personal. and he was going after desantis, too. all over social media that he wears the cowboy boots so he looks taller. that was a hit on both of them. no one really cares about that they want to hear the issues. i thought ron desantis did great because he was very measured. >> steve: that's what people want to hear. that's ultimately what goes on with debates. that's why we have dispatched rachel campos-duffy to a diner down in miami to talk to the folks where rachel, do the people think that it was just really personal last night?

israeli drone strike taking place in the west bank. we are working to gather more information on that developing story and we will bring it to you as we get it. here on the ground along the israel-gaza border. we have been watching as israeli forces continue their inside the gaza strip 34 days into this conflict. you can see here just over the border inside gaza. it appears israeli forces may have located another tunnel entrance. they have been trying to destroy hamas above and below ground infrastructure. israelis say overnight with new airstrikes they were able to eliminate the head of hamas' anti-tank missile array. they also targeted juicing the navy, a number of different positions that they say were threatening israeli forces inside the strip. we do know 34 days into the conflict. hamas and islamic jihad for major population centers. we saw some of that fire earlier today sending thousands of israelis to bomb shelters. we should also note that as this is taking place, what you see here on the eastern side of

>> well, this is orchestrated by adults. and i think it's part of the problem of american education. we're a little confused. our goal as educators is not to teach the kids what to think. it's to teach kids how to think. >> steve: right. >> i don't believe this is just organically driven, i think adults are pulling the strings behind the scenes. >> steve: right. here's the thing. if they are going to have a walkout and talking about a cease-fire, clearly that is taking one side. you know, where is the israeli side? >> yeah. there are many sides to any debate, and the job of the school is to education kids on differing perspectives. >> steve: sure. and to kind of work that out intellectually how does someone take one side versus the other. it is not to indoctrinate students be. >> steve: indeed. it is the job of a parent to teach your children how to think.

look, i did see the map. and you have places like al-asad air base and some of these other places that, you know, we were involved in. and, for sure, to see that, so, here, when we have american troops in harm's way, we do not let hostile enemies take pot shots at us without an appropriate response. and joe biden is basically allowing the iranians a tack our troops. his responses are underwhelming so it's just inviting more attacks. so, just from a normal perspective now i would also say this. what is their mission there? biden hasn't really articulated what their mission there is. presumably some type of counter-terrorism mission. i would note that we have terrorists coming in across our southern border. is he not doing anything about, to stop that. and we know, unfortunately, that that's the truth. so, i think we get into trouble if we're putting our troops in places where we don't have a clear mission or clear objective. iraq's government at this point, yes, there is a sunni she a

last night. what is the truth about your stance on social security? >> well, basically, trump is attacking me for positions that he has always held. for example, in 2012, against obama, romney, ryan, you know, i supported them. so did trump. he said that their proposals were solid. so, a lot of that is just opportunistic. but the idea that he is responsible for florida's success is absurd. and when he says he endorses, and somehow that means -- if his endorsement was so important. why have republicans been losing so many of these races where he has endorsed? we have fewer governors than when he got elected president. fewer u.s. senators, fewer u.s. house members. and here in florida, a lot of what we did to really put the state and separate our straight many other states during covid, we were done where people in his administration were attacking me. tony fauci attacking me for having kids in schools and restaurants and gyms and all that open. that really helped the state take off. i'm not sure what he saying

about any of that look, he had a chance to show up. and he had a chance to make his case. he is choosing not to do it. i do think in these early states, these voters are starting to key in. and i do think it's going to hurt him. i think you saw some of these focus groups that said he should show up to debate. we have got americans being held hostage right now by hamas. i mean, the stakes are high. you have responsibility to earn this nomination. and, also, defend your record. i mean, is he running on -- i saw the rally, a little bit of it. and it reminded me it's like deja vu all over again. you go back to 2016, is he saying a lot of the same things and promising a lot of the same things he didn't deliver on. border wall built with mexico, paying for it. didn't happen. drain the swamp didn't happen. reducing the debt didn't happen. we added more. why not get on that stage and explain and then articulate how you are going to do the better job the next time. i think it is going to hurt him if he doesn't show up. i'm going to show up. i'm going to be at the debates. i'm going to be on the ground in the early states and we are

going to earn it. >> brian: right now three debates presidential debates. only five people on the stage. you all had just about the same amount of time. how did you feel out there compared to the other times and how did you feel about the personal attacks and vivek who is coming on next hour when he brought up nikki haley's daughter? >> i think the kid are out of bounds. not an appropriate thing to. do not sgt. i do. i have 6, 5, and 3-year-old. they're out of bounds. this is not something they have asked to be involved. in i keep the kids out of it, for sure. two things, brian. one, i intok directly to the american people about the issues facing the country. i wasn't worried about debating the moderators really wasn't even worried about debating the other candidates as much as articulating my vision directly about how i will fight for people. how we will win these big fights and lead the country to an american revival. other thing is, i have a record of actually doing things. even on the hamas-israel, i was able to say biden abandoned
