actions in gaza. the university says the students for justice in palestine and jewish voice for peace violated school policy culminating in an unauthorized event yesterday. they organized a walkout, demanding columbia refer to israel's actions against gaza in retaliation for the attacks as. they have been met with criticism on both sides. the president says she has concerns violence was about to erupt on campus yesterday during a disruptive, loud, and sustained anti-israel protest in which jewish students say they were intimidated and prevented from attending class. the school ended up suspending students who refused to leave

constructive exchange of ideas, listening and learning along the way. he was folding. he folded and surrendered. >> it is ludicrous for the opinion to say this. how are they engaged in a constructive exchange of ideas by removing a cartoon or anything, whether it be a column or a letter to the editor that hurts people's feelings. how does that broaden your horizon? all of the facts first stuff that we have been hearing about must not have mattered anymore because hamas has been doing this for decades. >> we noticed this in the fashion section. maybe you would be interested in this. we have "the new york times"

style saying how they can wear this to their next protest and you cannot read it but it says demonstrations have cropped up. some palestinians have been encouraging nonpalestinians to where the square checkered scars as a show of solidarity. it doesn't seem like something that belongs in the fashion pages. >> i love the fact that in the photo they are using on-screen, they are covering your face. that is what we saw on the steps of congress, using their covid masks. using scarves and masks to hide their identities. if you are pro-palestinian, why can't you bear your face. maybe you realize it is more of a statement as opposed to

something you strongly believe in. >> 750 journalists signed a letter criticizing western media's coverage of the war. >> it is not something journalists should be getting involved in. my signing onto these letters it is feeding into this notion and it is well-founded based on the work i have been doing for a decade that the press has plenty of ethical issues, especially the mainstream press and signing onto these letters and genuflecting on your social media pages feeds into that narrative that they should be trusted. >> great to see you as always.

the policies that chinese -- that china has found. it will not cause them to invade taiwan. >> that is going to be the story line. they last spoke in person last november on the sidelines of the g20. >> did not go as well as they were hoping. we will see how this one turns out. let's bring in michael pillsbury. nikki haley said this about the meeting next week. >> what he should talk about is the fact they have to stop murdering americans, they have to stop stealing intellectual property so they can build up their military. they have to tell us why they are putting a military and spy base in cuba. >> do you see president biden going after, calling out

xi jinping on anything? >> he has done that and failed. he is in an embarrassing position. all republican primary candidates are talking tough on china. biden is unable to get them to come to the table. texts were being passed back and forth, delegations came and went. that is not happening with china. all of these bombers flying around taiwan, the chinese will not stop. if anything, they have increased it. they are talking about they hope biden will ask him to restart the military talks and have contact in case of an accident or miscalculation but the chinese say they are not going to do that.

the republican party candidates and trump have shown getting results on china and they are very specific. biden cannot get them to talk to him. this is a breakthrough for them. at least he is coming to say hello. he has other activities. he is going to meet in silicon valley and get things going in the high tech area. >> you see the security council saying this week, china told them when biden took office, china thought we were in decline and now they think we are in great shape and everything is going well. it doesn't really strike a chord with me. >> i was in china last week. they had a conference. they were harshly criticized by the think tanks who came to the conference, including me
