many chanting for a cease-fire in the israel hamas war. the iconic transit hub one of many stops called flood manhattan for gaza. and as thousands marched through the city streets, our fox news digital team capturing scenes like this and israeli flag being burned before it's thrown on the ground and stomped on. our team also capturing this group of people ripping up jewish newspapers, throwing them in the thrash. a lot of them accuse israel for committing genocide following the attack on october 7th which killed more than a thousand israelis. when we asked about israel defending itself and the chants heard at the rallies, here is what people told us. >> what's going on in palestine right now is genocide and to say that what liberation means, like, their vision for
9:03 am
liberation is also genocide, that's projection, you know, of a free palestine doesn't mean jews dying. >> i think it's misconstrued and that's the hindering part of social media when they're calling for peace, people take it and look at it in a different way taking out another community when in reality it's really we're trying to support one another. >> n.y.p.d. telling us moments ago, six people were arrested last night. half of them were issued summons for disorderly conduct and these protests are happening on almost a nearly nightly basis here in new york city, aishah. they're also continuing on college campuses where we know at columbia university two students, pro-palestinian groups were suspended and the university announcing this just yesterday. back to you. aishah: okay, cb cotton, live for us at grand central. cb, thanks. griff: and you are looking live now at president biden delivering remarks at the national veterans day

inalienable rights. we haven't always lived up to it, but because of our veterans, because of you, we've never walked away from it. throughout the annals of history wherever the forces of darkness sought to extinguish the light of liberty, veterans have been holding the lantern as high as they can for all of us. they were there when the determined band of patriots sparked a revolution, delivering a nation where everyone, everyone was endowed with certain inalienable rights. they were there when less than a century later gave our nation a new birth of freedom. they were there when the forces of fascism brought the fight to the trenches of europe and the bloody beaches of normandy. they were there when called upon to face the oppression of frozen race paddies of korea and the sweltering jungles of vietnam and they were there
9:06 am
when darkness came to our shores, signing up for tour after tour after tour to keep our democracy safe and secure these last two decades. folks, as a nation, we owe them. we owe you, not just for keeping the flame of freedom burning during the darkest of moments, but for serving our communities even after they hang up their uniforms for inspiring the next generation to serve. we see this at barracks and bases across america where young women and men continue to risk their own safety for the safety of their fellow americans. we see it around the world in all the countries i've been in when the troops continue to stand with our awe allies against the forces of terrorism, and in the light of
9:07 am
day when they sought to extinguish the light of liberty, americans troops are there and right by their side are their families, as english poet john milton wrote, they also serve who only stand and wait. they also serve who only stand and wait. our veterans are the steel spine of this nation and their families, like so many of you, are the courageous heart. most americans will never see the sacrifices that you as family members also make. they'll never see those holidays, those birthdays, made special even with the empty seat at the dinner table. they'll never see all the packing and unpacking, readying the family to make another move, needing to move to a new school, a new job for the spouse. they'll never see all of those
9:08 am
nights spent waiting for word from a loved one deployed overseas because you're not sure. too often, the sacrifices go without thanks or without acknowledgment. we must remember only one percent, one percent of our society today protects 99% of us. one percent. we owe them. we owe you. to all the families across our nation, to all those who are grieving the loss of a loved one who wore the uniform, to all those with loved ones still missing or unaccounted for, i want to say to you, we see you. we stand with you. and we will not forget. just as you've kept the ultimate faith to our country, we will keep the faith with you.
9:09 am
as a nation, i've said many times we have many obligations, but we only have one truly sacred obligation. prepare those we send into harm's way and to care for them and their families when they return home. it's not an obligation based on party or politics, but on a promise that unites us all and together, over the last three years, we've worked to make good on that promise, passing more nan 30 bipartisan laws to support our veterans and their families, caregivers and survivors, that including the pac act, one of the most significant laws ever to help millions of veterans who were exposed to toxins and burn pits during military service. pits the size of football fields incinerateed with the wastes of war, tires, chemicals, jet fuel and so much
9:10 am
more. too many of our nation's warriors served only to return home suffering the effects of the poisonous smoke. too many have died. in the 15 months since i wrote and signed the pac act, half a million veterans and their surviving members have already started receiving benefit you, but far, far too many are still not getting what they need, the care they deserve, and that's why i'm proud to announce that any toxin-exposed veteran who served in any conflict outlined in the pac act will be able to enroll in va health care starting march of next year. we're not stopping there. . griff: you've been listening to president biden speaking at arlington national cemetery observing national veterans day
9:11 am
saying we have no greater sacred obligation than to our vets. we'll continue to monitor this. meanwhile, as the israel-hamas war enters the sixth week, in the evacuation corridors. >> we've continued to see attacks between the idf and hezbollah and the defense minister came here to give a grim warning. gallant told hezbollah if these strikes continue here where we are, that the idf will not flinch to conduct what it has done in beirut, what it has done in gaza. those come from the hezbollah leader nasrallah gave a speech earlier. this is footage of the saudi arabia meeting that's taking place, global leaders from arab countries to discuss the war. earlier today we saw a speech
9:12 am
from hezbollah leader nasrallah, who in his own words said that hezbollah will be targeting israel as a second front and that hezbollah is armed with new ammunition. now, moving back to the conflict that we're seeing in northern gaza, the idf has been targeting hamas infrastructure and tunnels and idf says so far it's managed to hit about 90 of these tunnels that hamas uses underground. the israeli government has agreed to temporarily block off certain areas, stopping the fighting to allow civilians to flee and israel says in the last three days, as many as 100,000 people moved south to safety. the idf says today, it took out a member of hamas who kept 1,000 people hostage in a hospital, preventing them from evacuating. we've seen the footage from inside the hospitals, very bleak conditions, filled with patients surrounded by attacks, the palestinian health minister is calling for immediate help after he says that the electricity was shut off at
9:13 am
gaza's al sheppa hospital where patient suffered from a lack of medicine and lack of oxygen. we're seeing the major events playing out throughout the world there's a sense of curiosity from israelis, do other world leaders, do other nations, do citizens around the world support them in their goal of defending themselves after what happened on october 7th. tonight, prime minister benjamin netanyahu fired back at any criticism, saying that all of this started only because of hamas' actions and that the country will try to dismantle hamas and create a safer environment for the citizens there. griff. griff: all right. alex hogan live for us from israel. aishah. aishah: for more, and the latest in, joining me member of parliament, and former ambassador danon.
9:14 am
i want to start with the summit in riyadh where you have many, many different leaders, including iran, iran is there, calling for a cease-fire. i'll get your reaction to that first. >> well, first, aishah, they're only calling for a cease-fire, carefully the roles of the iranian leader who called for the evacuation of israel completely. so we know the iranis are spreading violence in the region and trying to get on board the more moderate arab countries. they know that we are fighting evil and only the humanitarian aspects. deep in side the knowledge we're fighting hamas, and fighting evil and for the moderate regime in the middle east, not only for us. aishah: ambassador, you know, it was just about 40 days ago that fox news, our bret baier sat down with mbs and they were
9:15 am
talking about normalizing relations with israel. here is mbs this weekend on his views about israel. >> the kingdom issues absolute rejection of the continuing of the israel aggression, occupation and forceable displacement of the residents of gaza and confirms it's holding accountable for the crimes against the palestinian people. aishah: so he says the crimes against the palestinian people. these are pretty strong words coming from the crown prince. let me ask you this, ambassador, is israel worried at all by the actions it's taking in gaza to protect its own citizens, that this might lose the progress that it's made in the last decade with regional arab partners, like saudi arabia, in trying to normalize relations. are you worried about that? >> i'll system optimistic, and
9:16 am
thinking in the future we can speak about expanding the goals, but aishah, you know, we saw the interview with fox news of mbs and we know that the iranians were not happy about it and look what happens today. all of a sudden handshake between the iranian leaders and saudis and unfortunately they were able to delay the agreement between israel and the saudis. they were able to drag us through a cycle of violence and many people ask, why, what happened on october 7th, the reason for unprovoked attack? i think one reason for the desire by iran to block israel with the saudis, but eventually it will happen. aishah: i think we actually have video of the diplomate from iran arriving in saudi arabia and play that for the viewers. when you look at images like that and what's happening right now in riyadh, is israel able to trust the regional partners
9:17 am
in the future to normalize relations? >> we still have with our region-- we're fighting hamas, determined to win the war and we know it's not easy for our allies in the region, but we have no other choice. we were not the one who started the war on october 7th. we were the one where our families were abducted and you know, we have 240 people now still in the hands of hamas, including babies. now, i saw the demonstration in new york city that took place. and i haven't seen one sign about the israeli hostages, the 30 babies in the hands of hamas. and bringing ours and the babies back home, defeating hamas, after that, i have no doubt we'll continue to work to achieve peace and to build strong ties with our neighbors. aishah: ambassador, we have just about 20 seconds left. can you give us an update on the timeline? we heard from the president, we
9:18 am
heard from benjamin netanyahu, they both agree it's taking a lot longer than they anticipated ridding hamas from gaza. where are we at? how much of hamas have you destroyed so far and who are you looking for? >> so, we have a challenge here because if we move slow, we are able to minimize casualties to our troops and the civilians. if we move faster, the casualties will be higher, so i think we should move, to take the time we need, to minimize casualties and we have the time. with all due respect to those, we have the time and fighting for our lives and we will win. aishah: okay, ambassador, danny danon, thank you for joining us live from tel aviv. we appreciate it. >> thank you, aishah. aishah: well, the pentagon says 56 u.s. service members have now been wounded with 25 of them our u.s. troops experiencing traumatic brain injuries after strikes on u.s. military forces in iraq and
9:19 am
syria that all began on october 17th. lucas tomlinson is live with the latest from wilmington. lucas. >> well, aishah, you now have the u.s.s. dwight david eisenhower off the coast of yemen so maybe you'll see some strikes from the super hornets after dozens of attacks on u.s. forces in american bases scattered across the middle east. here in wilmington, it was the white house saying that israel has agreed to the four-hour pause in israeli combat operations in gaza. that sounds like that was news to israel's prime minister benjamin netanyahu in his interview with bret baier who said he had not committed to that number. >> is that true that there's going to be some stoppage? >> no, the fighting continues against the hamas enemy, the hamas terrorists, but in specific locations, for a given period of a few hours here, a few hours there, we want to facilitate the safe passage of
9:20 am
civilians away from the zone of fighting. >> so while netanyahu avoids specifics there, aishah, the israeli defense forces did announce today an evacuation corridor inside gaza was open for seven hours today during daylight hours for civilians to evacuate from north to south gaza. the idf says there's a tactical pause in military operations. and the refugee camp today four hours from evacuations. and president biden was asked about the pauses earlier this week. >> did you ask for a three-day pause to netanyahu? >> you know, i've been asking for a pause for a lot more than three days, yes. >> mr. -- did you ask him to pause for three days to get the hostages out for that length of time. >> yes, i've asked for even a longer pause for some of it. >> many believe it was saudi arabia's warming relations with israel that sparked the october 7th massacre and as allison mentioned earlier in the hit, the summit in riyadh, non-arabs

9:26 am
simple explanation for this. iran would like to make this look like a war against both the united states and israel and the iranians are trying to i go if out if the united states has the stomach to stay in this and poking and prodding and testing u.s. forces to find out if we're going to take our carrier strike groups and send them home and i think there's an effort right now for the united states to try to deter iran from widening this war. i'm not sure if they're scared enough yet, and they're waiting to see if the u.s. has the guts to strike. griff: you mention that and here we zoom out a little bit. obviously, the iran is the head of this, hezbollah, the houthis in yemen and hamas and hezbollah in lebanon. and do you think then that because china is also a part of this big puzzle that president biden, excuse me, will try and talk to xi at his meeting in
9:27 am
san francisco to deter iran from making this a larger conflict? >> yeah, there's no doubt that xi jinping has some leverage here. the iranians are kind of the junior partner in this axis with china, russia and the iranians, so xi does have the ability to ask the iranians to stand down or possibly to rein in hezbollah or hamas. we have not seen the chinese do that just yet and i'm not sure it's going to happen, to be honest, but i think there is some important messaging that the president can convey at this summit. griff: jonathan. excuse me, i called you robert. >> that's okay. griff: when we look at what's happening inside the strip. here you can see the hospital. and a lot going on there. >> it's the central command center for the hamas military operation inside the gaza strip, al shifa hospital.
9:28 am
>> and they've to the tunnels and other command center structures. this is the nerve center for everything that hamas has been doing throughout the entire gaza strip. over the last 18 hours we've seen a fierce fire fight. the israelis have actually cordoned off the entire structure of that complex. it looks like from the outside, anyway, it looks like they're bombing all of the tunnels around this area, all around it. griff: you can see the intense fighting here and there. >> right, and i think the goal is to make sure that there are no tunnels that they can exit from because i believe there are probably hostages under there as well as the top two or three leaders of hamas. griff: and jonathan, one last thing in the 10 seconds we've got. we always highlight sort of our strength, our posture here, force posture in the eisenhower here. you can see getting close to the persian gulf because iran is here. >> correct, but i don't think they want to actually enter into the gulf right there. that's where, you know, our

in this country of peaceful protest. right now we have protests that end up in violence. so, for example, amanda silberstein who testified as a sophomore at cornell. another student threatened to shoot up the kosher dining hall where the observing jewish students eat and to rape jewish women on campus and this is terrible. i mean, to understand what she was facing is just awful, but we also have what happened in l.a. earlier this week where there were protesters for israel, protesters for palestine, and the result was is that one pro-israel protester died at that protest. so we have, no longer have civil discourse. we have these protests moving into violence or threats of violence. aishah: pamela, how should this administration respond? because there's this argument
9:39 am
over free speech and people have the right to peacefully protest, that's what you hear from the white house podium. at the same time, if you bring up the images, the protests are getting louder and scary. there was an n.y.p.d. cop car that was vandalized this week and. were people trying to get into grand central and trying to knock down the doors there. so, at what point does the administration need to step in? do they step in? >> well, the first thing i would say you used the word peaceful and what we're seeing is when students, for example, at cooper union are banging on the doors of the library to get at the jewish students who locked themselves inside or giving at grand central station in new york city, those are not peaceful. what we need obviously is to stop the violence. there was a letter that went out at berkeley, university of california berkeley from two

9:41 am
says, you can't convince the other side. >> right, you can't convince the other side, what we need to do is somehow recapture the tradition of civility and tolerance so that each can voice their own opinion because we have freedom of speech, but not when it threatens to move over into discrimination, prejudice or violence. aishah: thank you so much for joining us, pamela. we so appreciate it. thank you for your voice. >> thank you. aishah: well, still to come, the house impeachment inquiry into joe biden is ramping up as hunter biden and other family members are subpoenaed. that's next.
