smaller bills instead of holiday rush to pass a single enormous one. house speaker mike johnson said this, quote, the bill would stop the absurd holiday season omnibus tradition of massive loaded up spending bills right before the christmas recess. house republicans must position ourselves best to fight for the american people. so speaker johnson proposal does not include the aid for ukraine and israel requested by the president and thus white house stated, quote, this prime minister is a recipe for chaos and house republicans waste time on their political division and do their jobs and work in a way in a bipartisan way to prevent a shutdown. a majority of republicans have suggested that they agree a continuing resolution is needed. some gop hardliners, though, are against it not wanting to see any priority funding levels xeptionded in the short-term. rachel and joey. rachel: it is first test, for this new speaker. by the way, interesting that you know, the funding for the fbi

they're making, you know, they're making their voice heard. they're, you know, forcing candidates compete for their votes. i'm equally proud of gop voters think about everything that has been done to donald trump. in the media with law fair, you know, you know with being silent on places and platforms that he should be at yet he's still on top. and that says that the republican voters are saying we don't care what the donors say like that gave that gave $20 million we don't care what you say and democrats and mainstream media and we won't let these people pick our primary candidate that is a really heartening you know thing to hear about. will: i want to make two more quick points on this and describe -- i think that there's legitimate conversation about what republican any republican can win a general election. i mean that. we talk about this i have concerns. right and there are people that

are passionately against donald trump. passionately against but i'll tell you something they're also and you know this, but there are people passionately for donald trump. last night i was at uf295 friends of the program here and navy s.e.a.l. and right when the main card starts, in walks donald trump and it was the loudest -- applause of the night for any fighter for any event it was -- and then the crowd erupted into chants of usa, and look you just don't -- get that with many politicians. i understand there's a lot of people on the other side that have the opposite kind of passion towards donald trump. i'll never vote for donald trump i'll tell you what i witnessed last night. rachel: i would -- qhaftion it like like electric in there? will: yeah. came in with kidd rock tucker carlson it was huge donald trump jr. -- >> dana white.

embracing woke policies calling out pope for undermining catholic faith he was asked to resign on thursday but he refused. now he's been forcibly removed our next guest says this is a terrible treatment of a very holy man fox news contributor raymond joins us next. so raymond why don't you break down what's happening here because it is a big news in catholic world and so some of our viewers want to kind of understand the context of this. >> look people inside and outside the catholic church will remember bishop strick land when dodgers had sisters of drag queens be honored it was strickland to lead prayer service there and outspoken i don't like idea of describing him as conservative because some of his positions may fall outside of conservatism i would describe him as traditional catholic bishop defending traditional teachings. on marriage and life, and to the

people of god. you say you want to listen to the people. we have this whole -- meeting in rome over the last few months nobody ever heard about it except few people in catholicism but walk and listen to the people you have to speak to the people too and explain to us why you're removing our shepherds this is really -- unfair and unjust i think. rachel: apparently they don't want to hear from orthodox catholic and that's a problem. i mean, i think about -- that's next question i have. you have the fbi going after traditional catholics pope said nothing and now pope going after a bishop aligns with traditional catholics so what are traditional catholics take away from all of this what's the future for the american church? which if you go to any perish it is traditional ones that are booming. and the left -- >> thriving. bishops some bishoping and pope i think are trying to get themselves out of business by moving church so far into the

currently involved in negotiations between israel and qatar over potential hostage release. will: trey yingst live on the ground in southern israel with the latest. trey. reporter: hey guys good morning i do want to start just having my camera man pan up to sky along israel gaza border you're going to be able to see israeli drone that is circling this border area. trying to gather intelligence on possible targets in the northern part of the gaza strip, we've been watching throughout the day as this drone circles above, israeli fighter jets hammer positions in the northern part of gaza and try to support those infantry troops battling hamas fighters on the ground. many of the fire fights have taken place over the past 24 hours shot their refugee camp in gaza and israeli forces have surrounded hospital but are leaving one evacuation corridor on the eastern side. as this continues, we do know that israeli forces are going to be pushing deeper into gaza there are still many areas of

gaza city and not able to capture yet and there are reportedly thousands of hamas fighters still hold up in buildings there. waiting to engage those israeli forces who say they've lost 42 of their own soldiers since all of this began on the ground with israeli forces pushing into gaza. this does come as a lot of activity is taking place on northern border with lebanon today multiple antitank guided missile attacks injuring half a dozen civilians israelis at this hour are responding as they try to keep both the northern and southern front from evolving and unraveling into a much larger conflict. as it relates to and hospital situation i do want you to doctor in southern part of the gaza strip who spoke at the hospital headquarters for hamas. take a listen. [inaudible conversations] >> even if you are wounded or injured in the area you cannot be evacuated by ambulance to a

hospital and this is out of service this is the situation. >> it is a very challenging situation for israeli forces and palestinian civilians inside gaza. we know there are hundreds if not thousands of patients and individual sheltering in the alshefa hospital but in tunnel network beneath hospital so they're going evacuate babies currently in this hospital but it does set up a very difficult fight ahead as hamas fighters are still within gaza city engaging israeli forces. guys. rachel: that is heartbreaking. joey: i have a question for you it is more than 40 casualties in a single battle is a big number. be a big number for us and iraq war or afghan war. but it seem like nothing has really stalled israeli advance like an abundance of ied or huge count attack last week reported i'm apologize for e --

but intelligence outpost where they found plans that hamas was potentially drawing back into gaza city to mount defensive. is -- are we seeing that has happened in other words where israel is now, is the count offensive from hamas yet to come a bigger fight to come or has israel withstood that? >> it is a great question, and coming from someone who understands battlefield that's exactly what they're doing they're drawn back in and basically engage israeli forces as many fire fights as possible trying to slow those forces down as they advance deeper into gaza. but the part for the israelis is really two part one is civilians in part of the gaza strip and opened up two evacuation or doers not just from northern part to southern part through the center of the strip but a coastal road. they're trying to get civilians out of the way to increase the

bombing campaign against northern gaza. they are using the air support and artillery support here along border to go deep entire the strip and in terms of number casualties i was inside gaza last weekend with israeli group of soldiers a unit that was pushing just south of gaza city, and commander there told me israeli forces are actually surprised at the number of casualties. they expected to take many more casualties that entered gaza an indication that hamas is actually once again pulling those fighters back into the center part of gaza city and preparing for that larger battle. rachel: really quick any last word on hostages? what's the latest? >> no word on hostages. there are some reports that a deal is trying to get underway it is in the works with the qataris trying to help negotiate some release there are reports that indicate it could be a women and children deal where there are women and children being held hostage released in

exchange for prisoners in israeli prisons. these are all reports and speculation at this point but certainly israelis are trying to push those diplomatic channels to get as many hostages out as possible but number right now stands at 239 people that are being held by hamas inside gaza. rachel: boy i'm praying those negotiations happen. will: thank you trey. rachel: thank you trey. coming up school choice at risk a new lawsuit makes itses way to the wisconsin state supreme court claiming a child's choice in their education is unconstitutional. that's next.

very concerned and worried that this action for their children is going to be removed. >> rick i would love to ask you what is argument that school choice is unconstitutional and argument that you will have to combat what are they arguing? inch well they make a couple of arguments -- some of them border on frivolous they say that the choice program doesn't serve a public purpose. but, obviously, educating children is a public purpose. they make arguments that have been rejected by court in the past about -- the degree of regulation and state superintendent of public instruction doesn't have you have in authority but their biggest argument is interpretation of something in the wisconsin constitution called the uniformity clause, which is bizarre, and i can't we don't have time to get into details but suffice to say if their theory is correct it will be novel of wisconsin law that

would threaten not only school choice program. but wisconsin's entire system of financing education as well as a host of other social programs. so from a legal perspective, it is a very weak case but nevertheless one that we're going to take very, very seriously and oppose very strenuously. joey: if the wisconsin supreme court doesn't rule favorably my question is does it have a question to become to potentially other states abandoning school choice laws? >> it can't become precedent because it would be a decision based entirely on wisconsin law. but sometimes what does happen is that if another state has a similar constitutional provision, according to to that state will look to what they did in wisconsin and ask whether it is persuasive or not use it and so people outside would need to

be very, very mindful of what happens in this case at all because it is a huge threat to 65,000 children. >> yeah. >> mostly low income minorities but also to people across the country. rachel: that is difference between this voucher and other for example in florida or arizona this in wisconsin it is really minority poor people who are those accessing the voucher. and donna you know, catholic schools provided an incredible service during covid when all of the unions shut down public schools you stayed open, you kept kids on track and now the scores are showing that. what's this citizens of wisconsin aware of what is happening or what could happen to the voucher program? are they up in arms because the support for catholic schools for private schools ability to choose your school has gone through the roof. >> yes. absolutely.
