>> welcome everybody and happy weekend i'm neil cavuto so glad to have you with us we have a busy two hour plans for you let's go first to southern israel where readying something we don't know what trey yingst has the very latest. hey trey. reporter: we're following reports out of gaza about a u.n. school that was hit by a strike a large explosion killing many palestinians. we've reached out to israeli military for comment trying to identify the exact source of this strike and we'll certainly update you as we get those details. but it comes as israelis target hamas positions along gaza strip supporting their infantry troops operate on the ground in the northern apartment of gaza. pushing deeper into gaza city, there are reports of leaflets dropped in southern part of the strip and indication israel may expand their operation to there.

they've been trying to target a number of islamic jihad and hamas positions. and as we're talking here, neil, i can feel in my pocket here, alerts going off. there is new rocket fire toward what appears to be central israel. 43 days into this conflict, the organizations inside gaza including hamas and islamic jihad maintaining their ability to fire on southern and central israel. really remarkable given amount that air strikes that have taken place against gaza inside the strip much of the international focus remains on gaza al-shifa hospital with hundred of palestinians receiving treatment. they've been given water and food by the israelis but doctors there say they need anesthesia and medicine as some palestinians reported evacuated the facility this morning. i do want to draw your attention, though, to northern israel where new rocket fire took place today. fired by the lebanese militant group hezbollah at this hour israel target the sourings of that rocket fire. and as we zoom out from all of

this, attacks continue by iranian proxies target u.s. interest against middle east on this map more than 60 different attacks since this war began 43 days ago and american forces bracing for expectation that iran and its proxies will continue to target american interest across the middle east. neil. neil: all right trey please be safe and your crew as well great reporting as always my friend in the meantime near the president in wilmington, delaware after the meeting with the chinese leader and apec summit but growing pressure for a cease-fire not coming from those abroad but a number of unidentified and critics here. lucas tomlinson has more. lucas. reporter: that's right neil the big take away from the meeting with the chinese counterpart is they met face-to-face for the first anytime a year and agreements were made and effort to curb fentanyl although note thabl president xi made a agreement in 2014 here's the

weekend let's go to senior aferredz to israeli president benjamin netanyahu good to have you and thanks for taking the time you know they've been hearing pressure globally for israel to mitt to a cease-fire. and now the president is hearing it from members within his own party. and outside of his party, does that kind of talk mark, worry you? >> neil it is important between pauses which we are ding and we will continue to do toen sure that humanitarian aid reaches people. to make sure that people can escape dangerous areas that sort of thing we've been doing and we are doing that's a specific timeout in a specific area for a specific time. but a general cease-fire to let up on hamas we've said we will only do that for the release of our hostages. otherwise we're going to -- that will be temporary. we are going to continue the campaign against hamas and let me explain why. those people who believe in a cease-fire maybe they don't

understand -- but it means hamas remains in power. it remains gaza remains a terror enclave ruled by a brutal terrorist organization. that means we're going to have more violence down the road so i can understand emotionally some people think oh it is stop the bloodshed but it is a band-aid solution but a quick fix that means a month from now four months from now a year from now you have more massacres like we had on october 7th and hamas leadership, they say that hamas leadership says we will do it again and again and again. we can't let them do so. neil: they've been very clear about that. let me ask you, though, much has been made of what you -- and your sol scrers have discovered beneath this al-shifa hospital hamas military compound there. down to showing not only the tunls under that hospital but a cash of weapons and the like. and why yet showing pretty mucht

was there you're still having a devil of a time one organization put it proving it. well you did show it. does that frustrate you? >> in my line of work it is not good to get frustrated but we'll be showing more and more as day goes -- as days go on. yes as we secure the area and it is possible to bring in cameras and to bring in journalist so they can see with their own eyes and i have no doubt they'll be showing more but what confuses people and maybe this needs to be explained is you get all of the people in the hospital, gaza say we've never seen hamas and no information whatsoever about there being underground fortifications yes but people have to understand gaza is not a democracy. georgia is is ruled by a very brutal authoritarian terrorist group, hamas. and people who would speak out and say the truths and say we actually know that hamas has a military compound underneath hospital, they would pay a price. they would face retribution,

retribution so every time you hear someone around the hospital area someone in gaza says no we've never seen hamas here you have to know that they can't say anything else. if they did say anything else they would be in serious trouble with their local authorities. neil: let me ask you about a dust up within the prime minister's own party and opposition leader, saying that benjamin netanyahu has to go. he's for a variety of reasons doesn't like the guy think he's handled war wrong and what led up to it but still a member of the prime minister's party -- but not him. what do you think of that? >> so we have a parliamentarian democracy like in britain and germany not a presidential system like you have in the u.s. and job of the leader of the opposition is to bring on government that's the constitutional responsibility in our system but i think what is important to remember -- what is important to remember is

that since this terrible october 7th massacre of our people, you've seen a sense of common purpose and unity in israel. like never before. and the truth is, not mr. himself but major parties from the opposition have actually joined the government in this -- emergency wartime coalition because there's a sense that look, first thing we've got to do is we've got to defeat hamas. we've got to get the hostages back. we've got to make sure when this is over that there's no longer a terror group running gaza and that can inflict sort of bloodshed on our people like they did on october 7th. so i think the feeling in the country now is we need victory. we need to win this. this is going to require a national effort we need unity for that once that's all done we can go back to economics in usual but at the moment we have to concentrate on winning this war. >> all right he will be with me later on in this show so i one of the things i noticed is that impatience with the way benjamin

netanyahu and handling of the war we're only six weeks into that, and this whole thing. but does that part of that bother you six weeks in and already someone saying this thing isn't working. >> so i disagree. first of all if this is going to be done properly and destroy hamas and have a new reality in gaza where it will no longer be ruled by this terrorist organization -- that could require time. and i understand everyone wants this to be over quickly israelis would like it to be over quickly that's the automatic response most people feel but no it is more important that this is done properly. very close friend of mine -- was recently at a home of an israeli soldier who was killed in fighting in gaza and -- we have, you know, you make like a call upon the family it is tradition. and he said to me that message was get this done. that we've lost some 50 soldiers in ground operation so far and we're going lose more and people

time. an here in d.c. mostly peaceful very large pro-palestinian and pro-israel rallies taken place ten days apart. monday march for israel feature ten tens of thousands on national mall voicing solidarity and fight against hamas and on wednesday, i mean, chaos outside of the democratic national committee headquarters, police say around 200 protesters were demanding cease-fire turned to violence they blocked entrances and exits of the building. members of congress were inside including democratic representative brad sherman who is jewish. >> the statement of the capitol police is very clear these were violent demonstrators they assaulted police officers and punched police officers they. er sprayed them and these are the capitol police. >> a 24-year-old was arrested for punching a female officer in the face six officers total were treated for injuries. the group if not now claiming to be an organizer this have protest that latest one here in

neil: senator joe manchin was saying today that he would absolutely consider a presidential run. extensively as independent candidate maybe no label candidate. what do you think of that? >> joe manchin deserves a most serious consideration if we get to that point and here's the standard. we don't want just do this for the sake of doing it if we offer

our ballots to a bipartisan ticket. we want to feel that we have a chance to win and a little that we're not going to be spoilers for one candidate or the other. if we get to that point, joe manchin deserves the most respectful consideration. if he's interested -- because he's earned it. neil: all right. one joe says it is joe -- joe manchin, the west virginia democrat doesn't want to run for senate seat and might be setting sights on independent run and political correspondent what do you think about that and impact as manning would run no label nominee? >> well that's one of the big questions that have been hovering over the upcoming contest is just how much of an impact some of these third party candidates might have on president biden or might have on donald trump. we saw after senator manchin

announced he wouldn't be running for reelection two democrat senators and his own party, senator mark warner and senator murphy have different interpretationings of how he might hurt or help biden wariner warned him against running as a third party candidate saying he would help trump get the -- trump win. whereas murphy had the opposite take, you know, what we've seen in polling so far with candidates like robert f. kennedy, like senator manchin getting in the race, is that the hurt is pretty much spread equally among biden and trump. but you know, i will say when it comes to kennedy in particular, it seem like he does pull away some from trump supporters. neil: you have to wonder they're all in the mix if rfk is independent candidate i stress right now that could change. manchin could poll very very

well and might be equal tug on either of the name party nominees if it were for example, joe biden as democratic nominee and donald trump again as a republican one. how much does either have to worry about this? >> you know, i think both campaigns are keeping a really close eye on this. and watching what these candidates are doing and decisions that are being made. i would emphasize with third party candidates you know, it take a lot of effort to get on the ballot and all of these states -- it's a real organizing force. you have to get a certain amount of signatures to get your name on there. specific dates, so that's always a caveat with talking about these third party candidates. i do think about this one politico analysis that's one of my colleagues did which i thought was interesting with done rs that gone to rfk in particular, they found that a

lot of them were former trump voters or trump donors excuse me. who were giving to kennedy's campaign but again, it seems like the hurt is pretty much spread evenly among them. but the campaigns are geng to be watching this really closely. neil: speaking of campaigns, and again, nikki haley is one surging in the poll the right now still trailing donald trump by a country of a mile but nationally in battle ground states thus far -- in iowa and new hampshire but has not stopped eric levine big contributor getting into the campaign i spoke with him earlier this week meredith and he kind of explained yz he committed dough to her. >> what did you base the move to why nikki haley? >> pots that matter iowa, new hampshire, and south carolina in those we see nikki haley rising and donald trump either plateauing or dipping somewhat. and ron desantis flat lining we get into one-on-one

competition nikki haley will beat donald trump. >> what do you think of that? >> there's no doubt that nikki haley's stock is on the rise right now and i know for her campaign they really want to make this look like it's -- trump versus nicky haley and not trump versus rest of the field and that's really going to be her challenge as we barrel towards iowa. you know, looking like this is a two-way race and not truch versus haley and desantis and all of the other ones. but i will say nikki haley has seen a surge in donor support. she's getting looks from very deep pocketed serious republican donors who have given are looking to give like the man that you just spoke to. so she really does have a lot of momentum. but it will be interesting to see how that ends up playing out in iowa, new hampshire, south carolina, as we move forward.

forth shawn on the notion of who started but you know you did sending some nasty tweets e-mails whatever you want to call them saying of hill that it's just reality that you're just a clown. you should get your facts straight because every time you speak at these hearings you're full of, you know, what -- you went on to say more you run your mouth the more you show american people what a moron you are. do you regret that? >> i don't. because you know my first interaction with senator mullin and my first hearing, he attacked me personally regarding my salary value i bring to working people. he actually came at me first and no knowledge or dealings with him. and then he proceeded to i try to belittle everybody on the committee. so everything he was saying was not one bit factual and couldn't support any of those remarks he was making he was inconsistent so you know i don't have a problem with someone criticizing

or not liking me and make sure you have facts and figurings and he dupght he has a story where he came from nothing he was harboring resentment from a meeting that picketed his business he's a u.s. senator one of the most 100 powerful people in the country that actually could have change and you know, may haves behaves like a 12-year-old in a schoolyard. >> to the chase here they're not having coffee. not yet i'll keep you posted in the meantime it isn't coming to blows but frustration over that effort to avoid a government shutdown -- again, the votes for secured in the house to get it passed in the senate ultimately signed by president so shutdown avoid but texas chip roy still voicing his anger over how it all went down. take a look. >> we're pissing it away. we're giving it away. all they fought for all of those

freedoms we are giving it away. why? because we're too cowardly to stand up and do our job no a shutdown -- are you freaking kidding me? oh we can't have a shutdown heading into thanksgiving what will they say or dosome? how about we stand up and fight. >> when i fly home to texas i'm not being bombarded by complaint like i am in washington for my colleague when is i speak the truth on the floor. i'm being thanked. i had multiple people come up to me and say thank you, thank you for speaking for us because they're tired of what's happening on the border and republicans saying they're going to do something about it and republicans have to meet the moment. neil: so according to chip roy they failed that moment let's go to house majority whip tom emmer congressman good to have you -- he's not happy. he's not coming to blows with anyone so that's good but what do you make of just the reax on part of some more conservative members who didn't like this deal? >> wow good to be with you neil

based on your previous package -- with the senate and the teamsters and with the current one don't you think the thanksgiving break came at the best possible time? i think people need to -- [laughter] people need to bring it down a little bit and time with their families will help that. but in this kas i understand that my colleague's frustration without a doubt but the speaker -- made this play because while he believes that we need to fight we want to fight to win. he put democrats in a position neil where they had no choice but to go with his version of a two-step process. and i'll tell you why that's so important and they didn't want to be arguing next week during thanksgiving as to who was responsible for not paying our troops and everything else that goes with that. what mike johnson did here is he's given us weeks that we need desperately to get the appropriations process done for the first time in 30 years. we've got every bill that has

come across the floor now neil, they're already for conferencing with the senate and i believe once we get back, that's exactly where our speaker is gong to take us let's get bills conferenced let's get them passed through conference reports on the house and senate floor and get the appropriations process done with all 12 bills for the first time since 1994. neil: i guess you're right see how that all finishes out and seems what you're saying then and you're the majority whip i mean that speak or johnson won't suffer the same date as -- then speaker kevin mccarthy who because he had to work with democrats to get his measure to avoid a shutdown pass -- one bolted. and we all know what happened you don't think new speaker will suffer that same fate? >> i think that's the way it gets reported but keep in mind kevin mccarthy previous speaker put a stop gap funding bill on the floor a couple of days before that cr that you're talking about that had a 30% cut

neil: they say 30 million of us are going to be traveling or at least flying around how do they come up with that number whatever if it holds it will be a record. it will be a record close to that being a record last year. but definitely a record this year. bobby follows all of this and what we've got to do and not do to avoid createness around it. a lot of people bobby when you tiewk them have been saying -- i'm perfectly prepared for a miserable time. but it will be worth it when i get to see my relatives friends whatever -- is it really going to be that bad?

they pilots from those regionals. so they have to replace with -- their pilots from regular attrition and those moving on to majors so some of the regional flights you might see less frequencies but airports themselves and airlines i think are ready for holiday travel season. >> now, what about -- the issue of weather. now it is always a wild card big storm expected to be crossing the country next week how much of an issue is that? >> yeah. weather plays a huge role in holiday travel for sure especially since there are less frequencies out there because of the shortage and there's also fuller planes so if you cancel a plight or delay a flight you have to now reaccommodate 150 different people so you know one of the tips especially for this holiday travel season is just to have alternate flights in mind so this way if something happens to your flight specifically when you talk to airline customer service agent you can let they will know and alternate way of getting to your destination or maybe you can fly into an
